Sage 500 ERP (formerly Sage MAS 500) is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system for small and medium-sized businesses. It serves the manufacturing, distribution, and services industries and provides specialized capabilities for the industrial supplies and services, building materials, food and beverage, and electronics vertical markets. The system is designed to support deployments as small as twenty users, but up to those with over 1,000 users. 

Sage 500 ERP has applications for core and advanced financials, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, time and project management, customer relationship management, human resource management, and business intelligence. User-defined group modification, interface design, dashboard appearance, and other customization options are available in the system. Sage 500 ERP is scalable to expand with company growth.

Sage 500 ERP runs on the Windows operating systems and is built with Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic, and Microsoft Office technology. Its source code is available for advanced customization purposes. For technical support, Sage business partners provide implementation, software installation and selection, product training, and consulting services.

We are a distribution company and are using Sage MAS 500. Our old software was based on the dos system and we outgrew it. The people we had install the software were very helpful and friendly. Compared to other products that we checked out, this had the most options and the functionality that we required. Plus, it had the ability to customize to what we need. With 3rd party add-ons we were able to solve some of the complaints that some people had, and able to increase our immediate sales. It also allowed us to give people more detailed reports in a faster timeframe. Overall our operation became more efficient and accurate.
