4D Project Scheduling from Synchro & Google
Construction management firms are often too tied-up with project deadlines to keep pace with the latest news and developments in technology. To offer a glimpse of innovative trends in construction software, we attended this year’s CMAA conference, camera’s ready, to get footage of what’s new and interesting in construction software.
The most cutting edge demo we saw was Synchro’s collaboration with Google SketchUp.
Synchro enables project managers to integrate 3D drawings from Google SketchUp with project scheduling (time being the 4th dimension). The 3D drawing is then tied to each stage of the project schedule such that the PM can view project progress as a 3D model, in addition to a traditional Gantt Chart representation.
Product director Stephan Jones gives us the full scoop in this video. It’s pretty cool stuff.
