Facilities Management eXpress (FMX) is a comprehensive, web-based facilities management solution that brings together all key operational activities into a single location, fully accessible from any web-enabled device.

FMX is collaborative, with an intuitive calendar-based interface that encourages facilities managers and their staff more efficiently manage resources and exchange critical information. 

In many cases, organizations have trouble effectively coordinating all of their resources; the struggle lies with managing all planned maintenance, as well as request for maintenance, equipment, rooms, and their other resources. 

FMX centralizes all of this into a single system that is stored in the cloud, so managers and work requesters alike can access it from anywhere with an Internet connection. This includes smartphones, so maintenance can be requested or marked as completed directly from the site.

From scheduling resources, reserving rooms, emergency and planned maintenance requests, each task has a unique code for better tracking, and reporting comes standard in the software. 

The software has monthly pricing based on the number of buildings supported, with unlimited user access. It is suited for organizations in a variety of verticals, including government, healthcare, hospitality, banking, and more.

One of the big ticket new items I enjoyed was having a clickable site map/ seeing assets by floor and/or room (However you decide to lay this out). This is big for us and is nice for laying out commercial self contained air units or individual variable air volume units and really any other asset you choose. I was not a huge fan of the home screen layout or the inability to change default setting per user; such as being able to default my screen to my work tickets etc. There are neat features such as attaching documents such as warranties or manuals to assets that make them easy to find in the future. You can also get as specific as a person's office and list out the assets for them to create a work ticket on. Pricing was reasonable with ability to add or remove features as needed.

FMX is easy to implement and easy to use. Our staff caught on quick to adding maintenance requests. We are glad to have this tool to organize and stay on top of our repairs.

I am so glad we found FMX to resolve our facilities maintenance needs. It is easy to use even for Techs that had no computer or software experience. The calendar feature is also helpful in scheduling work loads. Even better is the exceptional customer service. At every step we were supported and custom requests were handled with ease.

Our school district is in its second year of using FMX for scheduling events and reserving school facilities and resources. The system has allowed us to bring what was once done on paper by hand to an automated system. Before using the system we were using three different calendaring system to mange school events, athletics and resource/facilities scheduling. Now it is all done in one place.

Pros

General users are able to use the system with minimal training.
FMX is willing to make changes and is constantly improving the product.

Cons

The FMX package is a complete facility package. We are using the maintenance ticketing module, automation to out heating and air and the calendaring system. All three were installed with ease, in a timely manner and any bugs were work out very swiftly. The cost associated with these modules is less that what we were paying for just automation with another company. So, when you look at cost, the quality and simplicity of the FMX package and the FMX support team, there is no reason to look for anything further. We did our research and found that FMX is the company to support our needs. In addition to our needs, the FMX team has customized some features that make this a perfect partnership. There are a few companies that have a mixture of the services that FMX offers, but they are just vendors supplying a software product. FMX is a partner that treats us as if we were the only customer they have. It's been and will continue to be a partnership that will last for years to come.

Pros

What I like most about the FMX package is how simple it is to operate and to teach our staff in the use of the modules. In addition to the FMX products ease of use, the support is second to none. When we call FMX, if they don't answer right then, we hear back from them is a very short time, usually within an hour or so. The automation package saves us over 5K a month in our utility bill.

Cons

The only negative thing I can come up with at this time is that FMX was difficult to find. But once we discovered who they are and what they had to offer, we were sold immediately.

Advice to Others

Investigate this company. You will like what you see and hear. You will wish you had found out about them a long time ago.

I am one of the original FMX users. I tried other products, but this is the ONE! I use FMX all day long and it is great to be able to part of the FMX family. FMX has made me smile and has simplified my job over seeing facility requests and work orders. FMX is easy to use for all level of users. Communication is easy and fast for and with users. Customer support is great.

FMX is a great company that is still growing. The customer service is tremendous, if you have any questions or concerns they are there for you and will find some type of solution for you and your company. The product itself, is extremely user friendly, even for those who may be less tech savvy.

I love how FMX allows me to communicate with everyone across my organization. The software is user friendly so I was able to get all of my staff onboard quickly. Whenever I have a question or issue, the customer service is outstanding and is always quick to respond.

There is nothing that I like least about this product. While they may not be able to do everything that I ask for, they are releasing enhancements on a weekly basis to improve their software.

Its a one stop shop for all the things I need, technology, work request, inventory, preventative maintenance and facilities requests. Its easy to use for administrators to community members. I just told Morgan today, that we are using the system so much that everyday we find out more about its powers.

I think some of the sets up on the administrator end are confusing but my FMX contact is always available to help navigate me through those areas!

Recommendations

You will only get a glimpse of what the system can really do; start using it and years later you will find new ways to use the system, improve your operations. Its scary. They are always taking our feedback and making it better!

User friendliness and the excellent customer service. The product has allow us to bring our Facilities management in smoothly. We have been able scan past maintenance paperwork in the the system for future ref. We are now able in pictures and other document which could be critical to maintenance of a part of equipment.

easy to use, our customers love the emails when receive the request and when it has been completed, also the reports are great. My assistant was before FMX was taking 4 to 5 days to bill out for our services now it is completed in 1/2 of a work day.

We were using another vendors software, which we found very cumbersome to use. Once we decided to make the switch to FMX, the ease of use and the customer service provide by both Brandi and Morgan were exceptional. If changes needed to be made or there were areas that needed refined they were able to quickly and efficiently make those changes, without hesitation. They were always available to help no matter how minute the issues was. Also this product was 50% less than the previous software that we were using. In these times of school district budgets being extremely tight, this was another feature that impressed us, but we did not talk price until we saw that FMX was a quality program and met our needs perfectly.

We haven't found anything that we do not like about FMX. The corrective and preventive maintenance, inventory control and scheduling of facilities were seamless in our transition and they even imported all of our information from the other vendor and kept the nomenclature the same so the transition went flawlessly.

Recommendations

Please do yourself a favor by looking at FMX. Their attention to detail is outstanding and the customer support is some of the best I have encountered. I have been in the maintenance business for 40+ years and I rate this coming among the best that I have worked with.

The software is incredibly easy to use, and the customization is virtually limitless. Our program simply provided FMX an approximation of what we wanted to do, how we wanted to use the software, they plugged all the information in and we were up and running in no time. Before FMX, we averaged about 45-50 work orders and requests per month, with approximately 7-10 of those being unnecessarily submitted. After FMX, we average 75-80 work orders per month, with each being fundamental to the success of our program, and each being completed in a timely fashion. FMX has organized, simplified, and amplified our facilities productivity.

I guess I will say, the aspect of this product I like least is there is no way to have a running total of expenditures for each physical location that work has been performed on. To specify, although each request does allow the end user to add a total cost per work order, as an administrator, I cannot simply open a specific location and visually see a total amount spent for any given timeframe, e.g., $X/year, or $X/month, etc. Now that I have said this, I must admit, our program has only been using FMX full time for approximately 3 months, and it is very possible that my issue is in fact a non-issue. I simply haven't asked if it can be customized as such. Take this negative comment with a grain of salt.

Recommendations

I would strongly advise anyone looking at using FMX, or any other like pruduct, to 1) have a clear understanding of what you hope the software will achieve in relation to your needs. 2) Have a concise structure of your frontline staff, and Adminstrative privileges. Know beforehand exactly who can and cannot access the software. 3) Have a well-defined outline of how the software is to be used. As I mentioned before, the customization is virtually limitless, therefore, it is easy for the end user to make it confusing. 4) Be patient, and utilize the FMX support staff. Do not think because something isn't working as you had hoped that it isn't working at all. If you go into it with the first 3 suggestions, chances are that the fix of a simple glitch is just an email or phone call to FMX away.

The ease of use gives even the most novice computer user the ability to utilize the program. The vendor was very easy to work with and very accommodating.

Sometimes the system is slow and takes a bit to respond to commands, but this is in no way a norm, just an occasional issue.

Recommendations

Look at all the capabilities. This software has more capabilities then we need as of now, but as we grow, we will not have to shop for other vendors or programs. We will already have it in place.

FMX is user friendly, simple to learn, and a very straightforward system. It's not overly complicated, but not so generically simple that it doesn't capture the information you need.

FMX gives me more control and an idea of what is being done day to day. I can see what is being accomplished, how long it is taking them, and the skills the technicians have. It also allows me to track the time and cost spent on work requests.

No mobile app yet, this would be helpful especially for technicians who are out on the job.

Recommendations

Have a game plan going in. Have an idea of how you are going to want everything (resources, equipment, buildings) laid out in a system, because once you purchase the software you have a better idea of what you are putting in and getting out of the system.

Sometimes it seems that there is almost too much information displayed. Reports are tough to come by but the FMX staff is working extremely hard to make them work for us. The monthly billing is our biggest challenge.

First, the website itself is very clean, and can be customized to meet your needs and the needs of the school(s) and second, navigating through the different portals is very easy and you can quickly create schedules or maintenance requests. I also enjoy the color coding for the approval process which I haven't seen on any of the other scheduling software out there. It makes my job much easier.
