Maintenance Connection Software
![]() | 1 Review (5.0/5) |
Maintenance Connection is a web-based software system for maintenance management. It is targeted at organizations in general facilities management, healthcare, manufacturing, government, utilities, warehouses, energy development, travel agencies, and other specialized industries.
The system optimizes lifecycles of assets, tracks and manages maintenance costs, provides insight on possible equipment failures, streamlines labor efforts, and performs other crucial tasks for meeting the full potential of maintenance and facility management. Maintenance Connection has won the Product of the Year Award, named by Plant Engineering.
Maintenance Connection is completely web-based, running inside the user’s Internet browser; it can be hosted online or on the customer’s own work site. Integration capabilities are directly built in to the system. The system is designed to scale freely, serving businesses with as few as 10 users or with as many as 10,000. It runs on the Microsoft SQL Server Relational Database Engine.
Maintenance Connection is designed to readily integrate with other systems, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and Computer Aided Facility Management Software. The homepage for each user is tailored according to the role within the organization, allowing for maximum efficiency when any given employee logs in. To direct the user to the most pressing issues, work assignments, requests, and other objectives that need immediate attention are highlighted in red to avoid accidental neglect.
The system also includes a customizable calendar that depicts employee work schedules and how they relate to one another. A special feature in the system, called “My Matrix,” allows work order information to be displayed using an editable matrix. This level or organization allows employees to see only the most useful information, without losing track of other projects.
1 Review of Maintenance Connection
We chose to look for a new product. In the process we evaluated over 10 different CMMS systems. We chose Maintenance Connection because we felt:
1. It had the most robust reporting package of any of the products.
2. We wanted a hosted solution, and we felt MC had the best offering.
3. We wanted an interface that was easy to use for our technicians
4. We wanted an easy to use interface for the end users to submit work orders.
5. We wanted to able to do on the spot reporting as well as trending.
After using Maintenance Connection for approximately 8 months we are delighted with the product. We recognize we have not scratched the surface in utilizing the full potential of the tool, but we learn something new every day. So let me tell you how we feel about the 5 items listed.
1. The reporting packing is phenomenal. Most times we can figure out how to get the data we are looking for in a very comprehensive format. When we can't get the data we need, support is only an email or phone call away. (I will address my delight with support later)
2. We really like the hosting vs. in house. My background in help desk taught me that installing upgrades for an in house system leaves a lot to be desired, particularly if you do any customization. We are looking forward to Version 6.0.
3. I was really concerned about out technicians using MC. Some of them had never used a PC before, some could not type. Without exception, our team of 30 maintenance personnel and 4 managers absolutely love the product. They were efficient in about 2 weeks, and with a second round of training about 30 days into the implementation, all are doing extremely well.
4. The end users... We held a town hall meeting with the entire facility about 30 days ago; during the meeting the Director of Facilities asked how they liked Maintenance Connection. We had no less than 5 or 6 standing testimonials for Maintenance Connection. They love it. They like that they know when their work order has been Issued and when it has been Closed.
5. Everyone on our staff loves the reporting. The Facilities Director is on an automatic email subscription to the reports he requires on a daily / weekly / monthly basis. The ability to get data instantly is never a problem.
Now finally, having come from a help desk background, I am keenly aware of what an important role the help desk staff plays in customer satisfaction. If there were a 6 star rating, Maintenance Connection's help desk would get that rating from me. My preference is to submit my 'Help' question via email vs. telephone. I always receive some type of acknowledgement from the support team in a matter of minutes and in most cases, I receive an answer/solution within a hour. The team is always very pleasant to work with. They are patient with a novice user like myself, and make an effort to help you learn more about the system every chance they get. My rating for the Support is: OUTSTANDING'
I recognize this is a bit long winded for a testimonial, but quite honestly I could go on and on... To sum it up, we are delighted with Maintenance Connection and we would strongly recommend it to anyone considering a CMMS product.
