MINDBODY is a cloud-based club management and appointment scheduling solution designed for the needs of small to midsize businesses. The product is primarily used by gyms, fitness and personal training centers, salons, spas and massage centers, wellness centers, dance schools and yoga studios.

MINDBODY offers features such as scheduling with wait list management, appointment booking through Facebook, automated scheduling of email and texts and online bookings. Memberships can be managed through MINDBODY as well.

MINDBODY also features a toolset for marketing management. With MINDBODY, notifications and alerts can be set up for customers, targeted marketing campaigns can be launched and marketing reports can be generated and assessed.

MINDBODY also offers staff management features, which include check-in and check-out management, role-based permissions, payroll management and calendar integration.

MINDBODY offers custom API access that enables third-party developers to integrate their platforms with the solution. The product offers a marketplace for applications that can be integrated with MINDBODY, such as Spafinder Wellness 365, Xero, Perkville, RelateLOOP, Zcubator and WaiverKing.

One of favorite things about Mindbody is the fact that it's so easy for our patients to pay for our services before or after getting treated without having to go to the receptionist desk. As well as paying for classes thru the Mindbody app.

Cons

I wish Mindbody had medical billing thru the app with a clearinghouse. That'll be so convient for our business.

We had used this software in the past and found it compatible enough to get by. At the time their customer service was great and that was a positive.

Cons

Incredibly Disappointing Lack of Customer Service. We were charged for the software that we were not using due to waiting for them to respond to questions regarding merchant processing fees. I emailed our current fees per their request to see if they could match them. We would lose money on monthly basis on their fee schedule. I got confirmation that they were looking into it but no response. I waited a few weeks before questioning again and then canceling the software. Even though we never used it at all I was told that it cost them money to keep it running and we would still be billed. Not only that but because I was two days off from the 30-day notice mark we were billed for an entire extra month. They are about making money... not making the customer happy.

Not Impressed with Mind Body just don't go there

Mind Body you really need to buck up your ideas, you have a rigid system that is overpriced in an increasing market full of new software. Many of my friends and colleagues are moving over to Go Team Up and let me tell you, the customer service is second to none.

Cons

Receiving payments from credit card processing was a NIGHTMARE, 10 days to get money and 8 months of constantly contacting them to see if anything could be done. In the end they asked me to shut my merchant account down and set a new one up and this did nothing.
Customer services is awful, there are a few who answer the phone who clearly don't want to help you out and reply with short answers making you feel awkward and stupid for even asking.
They put their prices up and gave me NO warning of this, price increase, disgraceful!!!!!
Reporting system is limited and to find the right one you've got to contact support who take ages to answer the phone, there are so many ways to run a report that it's hard to learn the process.
Their system is hard to use, it's not user-friendly.
They have no loyalty for customers, when I gave notice to leave they accepted it and moved on, no one contacted me to even find out why I was leaving.

I really like how easy MindBody is to use if you have a small business. I also really appreciate the customer service even if it takes sometime to reach a tech.

Cons

BRANDED WEB. Because MindBody bought HealCode, but hasn't made a lot of updates to it, HealCode (Branded Web) does not provide the features or functionality needed to use it with MindBody/our website. The only answers I ever get are "No" and "We are working on it."

I can see great potential with this software, but the improvements are made to function better for Yoga studio/Gym. There should be something that makes this software geared to the type of business that you are running. Hair salons carry A LOT of inventory and that are of this software is a sore spot. Being able to keep the calendar open and functioning while checking someone out is a must, as pre-booking an appointment usually happens simultaneous of the guest being checked out. Very pretty look, good app, but needs some work to be more marketable to the Hair world

The scheduling is so easy to use and most importantly it is easy on the eyes. You look at the schedule and it makes perfect sense. You aren't having to hover over anything to figure anything out, what you see is what is it. The payment taking is also so easy. I have been using this for over 5 years now and they continue to make updates that are so helpful. The reporting system is also another huge plus. I honestly can get every report I need from Mindbody.

I have worked at other establishments with scheduling systems but none of them compared to mindbody.

Sometimes they do get rid of features that I like to use and it throws me off and then I have to figure out a new way of doing the task I am doing.

Recommendations

Watch the tutorial and what they show you is truly what you are getting. It really is that simple to use. It is honestly the best scheduling software you are going to find.

MBO does a good job at storing client data and many people already use the MBO app. The app does not work for us, because we have our own, but if you are trying to build a client base it would be a good too.

Likes Least

It is not set up to work well with studios that have multiple locations and the reporting is not accurate.

Recommendations

MBO is the most widely used software for gyms and studios. It works well for a small business but runs into issues when business get more complex.

It lists classes is in an easy to read format. It is pretty simple to click and add classes you would like to prepay for.

I attended classes at several businesses that utilize this software, however, I have to create a different login for each one. It would be nice if somehow they were linked. For a moment I thought they were because some employees at these establishments have asked me if I have a MindBody account. I did, just not for their specific business. So perhaps the marketing/training/definitions for this could be better.
Also, I am not sure if this is a result of the computers certain establishments are using or the actual software, but the payment process on location is very slow. It can hold up the line at busy times.

Recommendations

This seems to be great for managing a large number of classes offered on a daily basis as well as smaller amounts. I think there is a nice range in showing if a class is full or not compared to just showing the schedule. It seems to cater to the businesses needs well.

We use the MINDBODY App at the yoga/barre studio what I work with and it makes booking classes SO much easier. It also takes the time out of taking payments from our members because they can purchase memberships and passes right through the app! Our clients also love that the app syncs with their Fitbit and can show calories burned and heart rate information from the class!

It organized my billing and scheduling. That's very helpful. It makes it easier to find reports. However now that I do not pay the high dollar amount I do not have access to many of those reports.

Pros

Customer service is very kind and assisting you to get a job done. If they don't know how to do it they are very proactive about learning how to do it even though it may take you being on the line with them for a really long time. But they are really nice people.

Cons

The 20+ minute wait. The phone system that doesn't call you back. The lousy music you have to listen to when you're online waiting. The price is exorbitant. Now if you have a problem, and you get up to do your scheduling and billing earlier than 8 AM , you may not be able to get into your account because other countries don't have the security information needed to properly assist you . So you got up early for no reason at all. And then you're working all day long with clients and you have to take your lunch break or time you don't have to call MindBody and then you sit on the phone for 20+ minutes.

*basic level gets you nothing to do the basics for your business

*reports: I cannot get reports that are required per the law in Italy at the basic level. The report is a basic sales report broken down by tax category. Again, this is a requirement per the law in Italy.
* MBO Lies and doesn't care about improving things it need to get compliant to sell in certain countries. They are aware but do nothing about it. It is highly frustrating
*was sold the Pro level initially even though I didn't need 90% of what it offered and was told the MBO app was available in italian. It was a lie. After I bought it, they said 1 month and it would be available. 1.5 years later and it still is not available.

MBO is not a viable option for CrossFit boxes. I do not recommend it for small businesses or a CF Box. You will waste hours for nothing. There are better systems for less money.

Everything! Was told the app was available in Italian when I was sold the system. 1.5 years later there was a price increase and still no Italian app. I am in Italy and this is one the most important features of my business.
* lowest level barely gives you the basics you need to run a business.
*By law, I need sales broken down into 3 categories: 1. total sales 2. sales at 22% VAT 3. sales at 10%. Unfortunately, at the basic level this is NOT offered. My sales reporting is per the Italian Law as we must report to the government in this format. It isn't worth paying extra a month for a report I need by law.
*By law, I need scontrino and fattura capabilities which they do not have available for Italy yet they continue to sell to Italy. MBO is not compliant with Italian law. They have been very unresponsive in correcting anything and continue to sell in Italy.
*TotalWOD not great
*Can't put more than 1 item in a contract.
*can't do inventory
*horrible customer service. takes over a month to get a response via email and several hours waits on chat or phone.
*constant price increases
*there is so much more I really do not like about Mindbody Online. They shouldn't be selling in a country that they are not compliant with the law at the basic price.
*They are NOT designed for a CrossFit Box.
*The system is too slow regardless of the operating system. I have tried it on a MAC and a PC.
*when a SEPA/ACH fails and gets returned, it doesn't alert the system. It used to do it with the first 3rd party processor (ayden) but doesn't with PaySafe. MBO said they would look into it and never got back to me so now when something fails, I manually adjust the account. It is a pain.

A software system should make your life easier.... NOT mind body online. Worst system ever! I am would not recommend it to anyone especially a CrossFit facility operating as a normal business (non ASD). You will waste hours with them.

Truly, think twice before you choose MindBody Online. It is horrible for small businesses.

The app works really well. That's unfortunately very hard to find. Though it functions well, it was still really limited in what it could do.

Cons

Ease of use web forms is key to gaining new leads online. Mindbody requires an outside source to even get forms on a website - you have to use healcode. Healcode breaks dowm a lot. Then, even after someone goes through the form process, it's not easy for the lead to navigate the mindbody website for the first time. I received many complaints about this.

Hoping MINDBODY WILL help with this issue. My sister paid for a membership at the gym but now she wants to get a MINDBODY account to sign up for classes online. But when she goes to sign up for classes the app thinks she hasn't paid because she didn't use the app to pay for the membership. Is there a way around this Issue?

Requested call backs that were never returned. Tried to contact through email to cancel subscription but received email saying that it was an intricate process to cancel. After waiting on the phone for over 50 minutes more than once. They charged me more amount before I was able to talk with someone. Then they told me that they have a no refund policy and to have a good day!

Nothing good to say. Just shocking experience and can't wait for refund and cancellation! Total negligent misrepresentation of the sale agreement as I had told the sales person of the 3 locations
our business operates in and she even got the addresses of all 3 but failed to inform me that to have all 3 locations listed on Mindbody would require 3x the subscription fees!

Cons

Misrepresentation on sales call. When I demanded a refund, the customer service told me that she would help me "build a case" in the request and that it would take 7-10 days for her to find out if it is successful. Excuse me? You legally misrepresented a key term of the sales agreement and now you want me to wait for the case to be deliberated? Do you want to be sued for legal misrepresentation? When I asked to speak with her supervisor, she told me she also needs to send a request form for that and it may take days for them to get back to me. Totally agree with all other reviewers here about terrible customer service and difficulty to cancel the subscription. Really wish I never had signed up with them!

We thought the software looked great and felt it would really help, the salesman was brilliant, and a stranger to the truth

Cons

Sold a dream, which failed to come true, do not buy, They are rude, no customer service, no support, everything was our problem, they came back and asked for extra money every time we spoke, the system does not work, we had to give up and now don't use it, it is absolutely rubbish supported by the rudest people possible. We complained in writing, no response was received, we lost a lot of money over this shocking experience.

Pros

The online scheduling and automatic payments make running a business extremely easy. I was able to customize the software to my business. This software has saved the business more than the cost of use.

Cons

The hardware should be able to be set up as part of the monthly payment. I would own all of it instead of none if this were the case.
