Vagaro is a cloud-based salon and spa management solution that allows users to book appointments and manage various facility roles. It offers an integrated solution to manage bookkeeping, payroll, client databases and inventory.

Salon owners can list available appointment slots, and customers can then look for salon facilities nearby and book appointments through Vagaro’s website. Its mobile app is available for Android and iOS-based smartphones. Vagaro manages front desk operations such as appointments, sending confirmation emails and messages to clients and alerts to salon owners.

Salon owners can create customizable promotional web pages to showcase upcoming events and special offers through Vagaro’s website or connect with their customers through email and social media platforms. Customers can also create personalized profiles with their contact information, booking history and feedback.

This product enables salon owners to keep records of their customer service histories and generate customizable reports with graphs and charts to track business performance.

There are several other app options that are better. I trialled several of these type of app/programs. They were the only one that asked for a credit card to do a trial. The other programs emailed and stated the trial was almost over and do I want to continue. Vagaro sent me one email, when I signed up, and one more 30 days later stating they have charged me the monthly fee. They didn't email stating my trial was almost over. And dealing with several, it's hard to remember them all. I couldn't believe it when I received an email from them saying they've charged me money... without even informing me they would do so.

There are far better programs out there. No need to use this one that will steal money from you. And, they have no option for a refund. I tried their program for only a few days before finding better alternatives. I still can't believe they took money without informing the customer. That is fraudulent.

Pros

None. There are identical options that do not ask for a credit card during the trial period.

Cons

They will steal your money! Do not give them your credit card details to trail.

I have used Vagaro as a Day Spa Manager and as a client. As a Day Spa Manager, the software made the chaos of scheduling seem like an easy task. Employees loved that clients could book appointments online, and the employee could verify the time slot before accepting the appointment. Anyone can access their schedule via smartphone, tablet, computer, etc. Clients loved that they could book their appointments 24/7 via their personal devices. It really is a win-win for everyone.

Pros

Convenience for employees and clients.
Sends reminders to clients about their appointments.

Cons

Nothing.

Advice to Others

I love the color coded services, it has the capacity to have multiple users, its accessible through my smartphone, my tablet or laptop! It was easy quick and easy to set up.

Cons

The only thing I have to whine about after the short time I've been using it is that I haven't found a way to shrink it to fit my screen. I like to have a quick glance at my shcedule without having to scroll up or down and that it locks up after a short time.

It provides the booking needs i needed for my salon. We love having it on our phones and being able to do things on site including accepting payment!

Pros

This software works perfect for my salon, i love that we all can have it on our phones and its so simple to use! The only con i originally had was it not doing my checks and book keeping but now that it connects to quickbooks (which i already used) its everything i need!

Cons

Sometimes adding in services from your phone gets annoying but its so easy to do on the desktop. :)

Cons

No 3rd party integration plugins for popular website CMS platforms such as Wordpress, no mobile responsive GUI for when online booking is integrated with salon websites outside of Vagaro. Vagaro forces you to build your website on their platform which is horrible compared to other solutions like Wordpress. They should get out of the website business and focus on enabling their customers to rather integrate their functionality into popular website platforms like Wordpress or other CMS solutions by developing plugin technology to leverage their customer data. Customers should easily be able to push the online booking from Vagaro through Wordpress and Vagaro's email marketing data through popular clients like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc. This is not possible and their support site is full of bugs. They have a chat window on their main support page that constantly refreshes when you visit, so you can't even look anything up.

The benefits are endless. I love that my customers can schedule at their own convenience and it makes it so much easier to not have to return a large amount of phone calls every day. Its like my own little built in receptionist

The only thing I dislike it that the customer needs a password to book online. its difficult to remember a password for everything

Cons

It's hard to see the client's history of what I charged previously on my mobile device. Also it sometimes is hard to edit their appointment on my mobile device.

Love having a real person to talk to rather than having to wait for a email response. There are more options than other ones Ive tired such as web page, over a 1000 free emails to use, more detailed client relations, more detailed page to find things, and grows with your company.

Email marketing has been especially helpful in filling in empty appointments. And not having to carry around a cumbersome appointment book is great. Also, easier to book clients ahead a year out and avoid accidental double booking

Pros

I LOVE the ability to manage my appointments from anywhere, anytime! It gives me the opportunity to schedule and reschedule, contact clients directly via phone, email or messaging. And the marketing emails have worked to fill slow weeks almost immediately!
Clients that use it love being able to book on the fly without having to talk to me personally. I like that too, in that I don't answer the phone while I'm working with a client. And it's especially nice that they only see the available appointments, not my entire book.

Cons

I don't like the cost of the service displayed on the reminder to the client. Because when they actually come in, it may be less or more depending on the situation. New clients may not show up when the price may appear too high, when they haven't experienced the services I offer.

All the imaging marketing, photo next to description of service, our business is mostly visual and the image sells the service with instant booking in the service is also a great plus!

Cons

The only complaint that I would have is there is no option for deposits to hold appointments, or option to prepay for appointments.

Very often the merge customers tab kicks me out and won't allow the feature at all. We have quite a few duplicate files in our system.

It takes a huge weight off of my shoulders knowing that my clients can confirm their appointments and reschedule without having to directly get in contact with me. It saves me so much more time, and it also helps to keep my day running smoothly. I also love the added safety features when I get notifications when my account is logged in on a different device. I can feel safe knowing that my client's personal info is secure. (Also, please add Spa/Salon to the industry category options. Thank you!)

Pros

I like that it texts appointment reminders and confirmation notifications to my clients. I was constantly having to call each client leading up to their appointment for confirmation. It was working, but I knew that something could be done much easier and efficiently. My clients constantly thank me for implementing a text reminder software. I also love that I can access my schedule from my desktop as well as my phone. Having 24/7 access helps to increase my income, and to respond to my clients much quicker. Worth every penny!

Cons

I would LOVE it if it had an option of adding a waiting list option available for the week, that way if a scheduled client cancels, it could immediately bring up a list of clients who are interested in filling the spot.

I don't have to carry around a big scheduling book. It's all at the tip of my fingers on my device. It makes you look really professional.

Pros

It sends email and text confirmations for us so we don't have to really do much when confirming clients. They love it and it makes us look super professional when being in such a competitive industry.

Cons

I don't like the fact that when customizing your services if you can't edit their already in putted services in order to make it say what you would like or if you create your own you can't add a stock imagine or at least i can't figure out how to. that is the only thing ive found to be a pain. If i want to add something in to our services and it's not there already in there already added stuff it's going to look weird.
