We are launching the use of MaintenanceEdge to manage our Preventive Maintenance system, replacing a spreadsheet based system in place for years. The system is used to create Preventive Maintenance tasks specific to each piece of industrial equipment, and schedule them recurring as required.
Very simple and intuitive to use. Permission levels can be set up to let users have sufficient access to edit database records and fields without too much restriction. This allows for good customization.
There are limitations with search and look up features for certain fields of the data records. In most cases, one can search based on any data field, but in some key cases this is not easy and a round about way of finding a record is required.
Request trial version of the software to familiarize yourself with its specific capabilities and shortcomings before committing to it.
Consult with Dude Solutions about their help to migrate an existing database at launch, to save having to do this record by record oneself.

We have been using MaintenanceEdge by FacilityDude for for 4 months now and we love it. The software is very user friendly and easy to use compared to the old software that we had (EAM by Infor). The team from FacilityDude was very helpful with the switch over from one program to the other. I would recommend this software to any one that are look for a good and user friendly CMMS system.

The training from Dude Solutions was great, and the customer support is amazing. The program is cheap and it relatively easy to use and includes an app for phones that comes in handy on the shop floor. The downside for me so far is the lack of ability to easily define email notification structure.
Affordable, easy to deploy, app for portable devices, and great reporting options.
User roles are limited to predefined categories, and those categories define who receives emails when work orders are created. Also, there is no email notification once the work is completed.
Don't waste $$$ on a similar software, buy this one and enjoy endless customer support and unlimited user accounts.

CMMS is only a good fit if it matches the way you do things already. Make sure that you are willing to adapt to anything that is different than how you normally would operate.

The best thing about this software is the elimination of paper hard copies of work orders as well as the ease of tracking and generating the maintenance work orders.
Although the software has a large number of features, some are underused because their placement or implementation in the user interface is not entirely intuitive in all situations.

The software has the best (easiest to navigate and common sense flow) user interface out of the 4-5 competitors that I evaluated. The sales rep that I worked with was low pressure and responsive to my needs and questions. Implementation cost and annual service costs were very competitive. The after purchase training and setup was also very positive. I have a point person and scheduled time blocks for training and continue to have great customer service 3 months after implementation. In fact my training rep. emailed me today asking how things were going and if I had any questions.
In a perfect world, I would like to tailor the software to my specific needs and industry. Facility Dude is a generic software from the sense that it accommodates the language and requirements spanning several very different industries. I have had to be creative in a few cases with how we classify groups and naming convention. Not a big issue however the inability to have some level of customization would be my only complaint.
Demo's are a great way to interact with the various software packages and definitely allowed my team to make better decisions. Lack of Contracts if your buying the software or using a web based system are also a great way to use reduce risk if the software doesn't provide what you are looking for.

Maintenance Edge is a fully customizable database. With unlimited users I am able to expand to more than just my maintenance responsibilities. The ease of use and price make this the best CMMS on the market in my opinion. The customer support team at Facility Dude are very friendly and knowledgeable. They walk you thru every step of the process.
I really don't have any dislikes about the product.
When choosing a CCMS you need to plan out you needs and desires for your Facility.

It is extremely user friendly and the more we learn about the system the more it has to offer. All of my techs were able to navigate through the system and get the basics down in a matter of minutes by day 2 they were creating work orders and asking about searching work history on equipment.
I have had to input all my assets, vendors, manufacturers, etc. the data entry is still ongoing after several months. I would suggest hiring someone for data entry.
Find out the data entry steps IE: first add your equipment classification, then equipment types, then manufacturers , then suppliers and enter equipment last ass you will need all of the others to enter equipment. This will save you a lot of backtracking if you try to jump ahead during your training

Maintenance Edge is easy to implement and daily use by myself and my technicians is quick. The FacilityDude staff are some of the nicest and easy to work with people that I have encountered.
I am in the manufacturing business (hardwood lumber mills). The heavy equipment and truck application of Maintenance Edge is not quite as interactive as previous programs I have used. The staff is listening to manufacturing clients to make these issues more workable and is making changes in the program to help users of trucks and other rolling stock to make use and the resulting information simpler to enter and report on.
Do your do diligence. take time to look at all brands of maintenance software and talk to current users.

The setup is intuitive, and you are easily able to make changes to setup on the fly.
I don't like that a requester can see all requests in the system. I understand the rationale that it allows requester to see WO's in the system and may avoid duplication, but it also gives the requester a window into the Maintenance world that isn't always appropriate.
I would like to see this as a feature that could be turned on or off. I would welcome a response to this issue.
Get a VIP to evaluate how difficult it is to set up the system and the ease and quality of the info it generated. Be real about what features you will use in you operation and that will drive the price point. Acknowledge that you likely aren't running NASA. Keep it simple.

This software is fairly easy to use, and the vendor allows for unlimited training sessions with anyone using the product.
Some of the forms and reports that are created are not configurable to our situation.
By and large, all facility maintenance software packages do pretty much the same thing. They inventory equipment and allow for tracking expenses and down time. Spend the time to make sure that the information needed from the system is configurable to your specific situation.

It's not optimized for compiling capital asset documentation for creating a one-stop service for all asset tracking needs.

As a product, MaintenanceEdge is supported by excellent customer support. The product itself is simple and straightforward once you've learned the interface. The streamlining of requests is intuitive and promotes a more productive work environment.
There are a few holes in functionality that either require long-winded solutions for the end user or aren't possible at all. Searches and filters are rudimentary, and the UI is outdated and clumsy.
With most software, experiencing a product demonstration before investment is critical. More so with software like MaintenanceEdge, where personal taste and the ability to optimize the system's functionality vary significantly from person to person. Make sure the people who will be involved are willing to invest the time to learn the system.
