Founded in 1985 and designed by professionals in preventive and facility management, MaintiMizer CMMS software by Ashcom Technologies delivers a single solution that assists with maintain compliance, safety, and quality. 

When Ashcom developed their web-based version, they consulted with real-world users of the MaintiMizer system. The product is customizable to meet the client's. MaintiMizer Web offers all six of their modules for managing maintenance activities, each of which can be opened in their dashboards to keep important information centralized.

MaintiMizer BlackBox² is targeted towards smaller facilities seeking a fully functional CMMS - it plugs into the company’s network or can run off of an Ethernet cable or wireless. Using the Microsoft SQL Express database and a pre-configured web server, it includes their complete set of modules to manage work orders, track inventory, vendor and purchase orders, preventive maintenance, and timecards. 

MaintiMizer.com is their pure SaaS version that doesn't require the need to install software. Mobile MaintiMizer is their wireless interface for mobile devices and allows users to update information in real-time from the field to the factory floor.

The company had this installed but relied on it but little. The maintenance function was the only one using it....production barely knew of its existence.

Pros

It is easy to use for the most part.

Cons

It didn't give the company what they needed which was a way to run their maintenance function better.

Kathleen, I am truly sorry that your company has yet to see the full functionality that MaintiMizer provides. Although I see other Users at Mitsui have in fact received proper training on the system it appears as though you have never received any training which would explain the lack of knowledge of the system. Although MaintiMizer is indeed built for and by Maintenance professionals there are many ways in which Production would benefit from using MaintiMizer and I would suggest starting with full training on the system. We have no record of you in our database which means you have never actually contacted our company but I am happy to reach out to you to make sure that everyone at Mitsu is getting what they need out of MaintiMizer! It is our goal at Ashcom that every one of our clients gets the most out of their CMMS investment!

MaintiMizer is an overall good system. Allows for parts tracking, POR and Purchase Orders, Time tracking, and more. It does however rely heavily on user input and does not have a lot of automation needed in more robust, predictive environments.

Pros

Customizable dashboard, parts rooms and the ability to connect inventory to work orders

Cons

Customization and expanding capabilities is limited and expensive. Feels like an old system.

Maintimizer seems like it could be a highly effective software tool for scheduling routine maintenance and also for predicting future break downs on machines. If the software is used correctly it can make the job of the maintenance technician a lot easier. The one feature that I am not sure it has as our company does not use it is if parts can be added to a work order. This would allow for parts tracking, but would only work if the parts are set up in a computer system which we do not have.

Look into how you will utilize this product to determine if it's the right fit for you.

I feel as though this product is only as good as it's user. If you are going to create work orders, schedules, preventative maintenance, and use it to review and create a timeline then it's a good platform for planning ahead and finding flaws. But if it's not used in that way, it just seems like a place to put information to never be seen again.

Customer service is fantastic! After meeting our trainer, I have been able to contact him with basic questions and he gets back to me as soon as possible. He also lets me know if it will be a little while until he can get back to me.

Some features I would like are not available such as selecting multiple items in more areas, more detailed closing options, etc.

Recommendations

Implementation is key! Regardless of validation or other departments, make sure you fully integrate data! This is an amazing program but you have to give it all of the information you can to fully utilize it's potential. Even if you don't think you will use some of it's features, bring in the data. I guarantee you will put it to use someday, and it will be that much easier if you built the database from the ground up.

It does what we need to do with tracking our maintenance for machines. Instructions are pretty clear.

Some of the functions or when you add notes to save it at the bottom. It's particular when you add the comments or notes.

Recommendations

I think if you use it more often just like anything else, it will become "easier" to use. I use it every now in then to input information that we need to update.

You can't change an equipment name without deleting it. You also cannot remove a user without deleting all their work orders. You need to have better input fields for parts, like engineering values, scaled values, tag numbers, loop numbers, etc.

Recommendations

Read the user manual. When creating new equipment, double check the name because you can't change it without deleting it.

The tabbed screens allow easy input of new equipment. It's easy to create, edit, and close WOs.

I am able to search on any field and create custom reports easily. The vendor is available to answer questions if needed.

What I like least are little details like having to page through instead of just scrolling down when looking at a long list.

Recommendations

Make sure you define what you will be needing from the system, and remember the only way you will get good info is from the data you put into the system. GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out!)

There isn't anything I really like about it. Nothing about it is really easy to use.

It's not user-friendly. There's too much flipping between screens. I can't control withdrawing inventory from several locations. There's too much clicking buttons or tabs to get where you want to be. There's a lack of drop down windows, and there's too much searching.

Recommendations

Don't waste your time. Find something else. It takes too much time to enter data.
