Co-construct is a robust web-based solution developed for custom builders and remodelers. With Co-construct, custom contractors have access to a solution that addresses the unique challenges faced by companies in this niche.

Co-construct is a collaborative solution that helps businesses coordinate their selections, schedules and photos while also improving client relationships with more dynamic, interactive communication. It's best suited to companies with less than $10 million in revenue seeking minimal IT involvement; the web-based deployment eliminates the need for a large hardware investment. It integrates with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Xero accounting systems.

Co-construct is accessed from a login form on the contractor's website. From here, team members, subs and clients can access their own secure portals to address tasks unique to their role - tracking change orders and project budget, update online schedules, share files and photos, enter jobsite logs, and access cross-project reporting. This data can be downloaded at any time and Co-construct offers mobile apps to update your schedule, retrieve files, review selections and more.  

This online portal is branded with the company name, colors and logo for a more professional look and any outgoing messages and handouts also include the company brand. Builders also get their own, branded mobile app for use with clients.

Co-construct brings together all client and sub communications into a single location; everyone can still use email, but Co-construct's patented communication feature captures and organizes these communications online, so finding something takes seconds. With email and text message alerts, clients, team members and subcontractors alike stay informed of project updates in real time.

Great Product! User and Client-Friendly. Win-Win!

Ease-of-use

It's very intuitive. Everything can be reached from the Home Screen. Spend a few hours playing and/or watching the tutorials, and you will be set to go.

Functionality

It does all we want it to do and all we need it to do. Some in-depth report generating would be a nice addition, but it's not really necessary for what we were looking for.

Product Quality

No hiccups so far. The web and mobile apps have both been very stable for us. Everything looks crisp and clean and operates the same way.

Customer Support

Very quick response times from the tech support side. We have not had to reach out often, but when we have, the responses have been prompt.

Likes Best

The product has really helped simplify our selection processes. Customers can see the specs, other options, and the costs associated with changes. Once a selection is made, everyone is aware of the choice and the related cost, if any. There are no more tough conversations about change orders.

Likes Least

At this point, there has not been much not to like. We are still learning all of the tricks with the software, but are pretty sure it will do all that we ask of it. Improvements are sure to come, but it's working fine for us as is.

Recommendations

This is a very client-friendly software. The accounting end is enough for us, but if generating tons of reports is your goal, this may not be your solution. If creating an environment to collaborate with customers is your goal, this is the software to use.

Amazing product - brings everything together in one place!

Ease-of-use

The screens and menus are easy to read. Their tutorials make learning the program easy as well; plus, you are assigned someone from their staff to be able to call if you can't figure something out.

Functionality

Our field employees were a big part of our decision to go with Co-construct. They can access it from their phone to communicate with our office staff or the client. They can send photos of something they have completed and want to show off, or if there is an issue with something onsite, our production manager doesn't have to drive to the project.

Product Quality

It's easy to use for all involved: field staff, office staff, and clients.

Customer Support

They called me to make sure I understood the program or had any questions on a regular basis as I was getting things up and running. Who does that? We love it!

Likes Best

It has everything in one place. I have never worked with a vendor who is more responsive to any needs we have had. I like that I can communicate with client through the program and don't have to worry about emails in one place and other things in another place; it's all right there.

We haven't found anything we don't like yet. Co-construct support is always ready and available to walk me through anything I don't understand. It's quick and easy.

You will not regret taking at look at Co-Construct. It is the most user-friendly software we have ever looked at and purchased.

Co-construct is a must have for any serious construction company

Ease-of-use

The only thing keeping it from being totally perfect is the selection sheet. Some items aren't broken down far enough to make the search as quick as it could be, but other than that, it is great!

Functionality

It meets my needs through the email alerts and by documenting the conversations between the different parties, and of course, the scheduling is perfect.

Product Quality

They're a perfect 10 because they're not done and have already made improvements to the program, which tells me that it will continue to meet my needs.

Customer Support

I haven't had to use the support, but my rating is based on the improvements in the program. They know the needs of their customers.

My favorite feature how the task fades in the schedule once it is complete, making it quick and easy to see what has been done and what is left to do. Also, the sections collapse once they are completed.

It times out quickly, which cause you to have to sign in again. Also, it would be nice if the job number would follow as you scroll down the page so you don't forget which job you're looking at.

Recommendations

I have and do highly recommend Co-Construct to everybody that I talk construction to and many others. My recommendation is to make sure the software is going to do what you want it to, and, of course, that is to make your job easier and more efficient.

My apartment scheduling project.

Ease-of-use

With the preloaded test project, you have a great template to get started.

Functionality

For the most basic scheduling, it works fine. Large projects, like apartments, can work but are very hard to manage, update, and create.

Product Quality

The interface is good and well-laid-out. The problem I had was trying to update multiple line items and save. My workaround was to edit the fields then save. If I tried to simply update, it was slow.

Customer Support

They're excellent! They really strive to help. They really do try to provide answers and respond to phone calls and emails promptly.

Likes Best

It's easy to set up. It's very affordable for small contractors to get started. The tips and suggestions in emails help to provide a real environment for the user to relate to.

Likes Least

The updates take longer as the project gets bigger. I would recommend it for commercial construction.

Recommendations

Do a trial run with a small project to be sure it fits your needs. With houses, no two are the same; the same goes for software.

It's very user-friendly and easy to maneuver and use effectively the way we need it.

It seems to be set up mainly for new construction. We had to make some modifications for renovation projects.

It's better than other programs we have tried recently.

They have always been available when we have had questions. They have great tutorials, too.

We have not yet used all the functions, but for what I have experienced, it has been great.

I have emailed them a handful of times and had a detailed specific response very quickly, within an hour or less.

The program has been very easy to use and navigate. We quickly found ourselves using more functions than we originally anticipated. The support staff was quick to respond to any question or concern and work with us to find the best solution.

At the moment, there's nothing we don't like. All aspects of use have been enjoyable so far.

Recommendations

Understand that you are going to spend some necessary time to get everything set up to your company's format and needs. If you take that time, using the software will be a breeze.

It's available on my laptop, pad, and phone. The training videos are very clear.

I love being super-organized with Co-construct

Ease-of-use

I find it pretty self-explanatory. Once you start clicking away and navigating through the program, you pick up how to use it really easily. If you come across anything you aren't sure about, all it takes is a simple email to the support team, and they get back to you so quickly.

Functionality

It almost meets our needs 100%. The only real issue is that we have QuickBooks in Australia and not the online version, so we can't integrate the two which is unfortunate.

Product Quality

I think it is very well-designed and that it suits all parties who will use it, from the builder to the client and each trade/contractor. It makes things clear in a concise manner.

Customer Support

They have a very quick turnaround. The only thing I really, really, really need help with is the master selection sheet, as I am just struggling to find time to do it, and it's getting crucial to have it.

I find it easy to use, and it clearly outlines everything not only to the builder (so we don't forget anything), but also to the contractors and the clients. I found the product very easy to use, even without watching the training videos (I have watched many). So it is a very user-friendly product, and the support provided by Co-construct is second to none.

I receive a lot of emails from them, and I want to read them all, but I am just very time poor. Also, I think it would be 500% better if you could access your contacts from Co-construct through your mobile device or tablet.

See if you can get a trial version or something like that to see what works for you. Find out what the helpdesk is like, etc.

Money Making Software

Ease-of-use

For anybody that is interested in making their business grow by investing a little bit of time, this software is reasonably easy to set up and operate.

Functionality

As a medium-sized custom home builder, this software is perfect for us. But it would also be perfect for a business with just one client or 100 clients. We have side users, partners, and clients that range in tech ability from almost non-existent to high level, and all are impressed with the usability of this software.

Product Quality

The software layout and usability is great. Customisation is excellent. There are no issues using it in a different country (Australia). Web-based access is the only way.

Customer Support

If you think this program doesn't do something or does it wrong, it's normally user error. I haven't had to call support on the phone, as the web-based help and support are awesome and have all the answers.

This software is awesome. The guys and girls at Co-construct are a great bunch. The founder of this software is one of the most inspirational people I have have ever encountered.

I live in Australia; Co-construct is in the US. I wish they were closer so I could meet the founder in person and shake his hand. But being in a different country doesn't affect usability or functionality of this program.

Recommendations

This program will win you clients! If you want to make more money, make clients happy, and have less headaches, then this software is for you. If you're happy with your business plodding along as it is with lost communication, grumpy clients, and diminishing profits, then don't bother.

Great software

Ease-of-use

Most of it is easy to use. It takes a lot of time to set up the selections, and the budgeting is kind of involved.

Functionality

This meets our business needs because it's an easy way to visualize our job's progress. We're also able to schedule change orders. I really like how everything is in one place.

Product Quality

The app is slow. When I hit the back button, the screen turns black. Sometimes, it may take a few minutes for it to actually go back. Often, I will just close the program because i don't want to wait.

Customer Support

They called me to make sure everything is going good and asked if I needed help.

I like how Co-construct has everything I need. It's organized and easy to use.

The only thing I have a hard time with is remembering to use it every day, but I'm new to it, and it will be getting easier the more I do it.

Co-construct review

Ease-of-use

It's too complex to learn. There are no step-by-step instructions. The videos are all over the place. Talk about confusing.

Functionality

We have two guys in the field and one designer in the showroom. Communication by email, text, or phone is the best between us, our clients, and our coworkers.

Product Quality

It's a great idea, but it's just too much. It really could use a large business version and a small business version that cut out half the stuff and made it easier to use.

Customer Support

They never helped us create a logo. They wanted us to do all the work, and they started to look into it but never followed up to make sure it was completed.

Likes Best

It's a great idea for the right size business. They just need to work on the instruction skills. A one-on-one with a real live breathing person would be the best way.

The program is too large and confusing. Make it simple. Less is best!

Recommendations

If you have a small business, just ask yourself if your staff is big enough that you need this or if how you're doing business right now is working pretty smoothly. Do you have the time it will take to watch all the videos and then actually use the program enough to understand it before you go live with it with homeowners?

Hi Nicole,

Obviously, I'm very sorry to hear both that the software wasn't what you expected and that you weren't happy with the training and support from our team.

This may be an unfortunate case of bad contact information, since our team made multiple attempts to schedule a 1-on-1 call with one of our implementation team members, since we do provide unlimited phone, web, and email support, in addition to the "Getting Started Checklist" that is at the top of the main menu and in the initial email to our new users.

You are correct that our team does not create logos for businesses that do not have one. However, our custom branding package does take your logo and website and makes our system look like it. We also provide a PDF and other marketing materials. That does require a few pieces of information (logo, verification of phone number, etc.) so we can produce the high-res files and make sure the information is accurate.

We made eight attempts to get that information from your team between March 7th and April 21st. We were trying to contact Rodney, since he was the one listed as the primary contact, so if you were the person handling that, and the emails and voicemails were not forwarded to you, it could explain how it appeared that we were not reaching out to you.

I'm sorry it unfolded this way. If you have any interest in revisiting the system, we're happy help get you going, this time with you as the primary contact.

I have to teach this to my builder and supers, and it tends to be hard to explain at times. Especially when they are not very tech savvy.

Functionality

Yes and no. I still feel the need to revert to my old way to make sure I am on task.

Product Quality

The quality is great, and it's very nice that you can personalize it.

Customer Support

I would say that the customer support has always been quick to respond and has had great answers.
