Co-construct Software


 

Co-construct is robust web and mobile-based project, financial, and client management system for custom home builders and remodelers. It is the only single-entry estimating system that allows each user to enter a piece of information once, and have that data flow directly from the estimate, specifications, selections, bids, change orders, budgets, and to and from QuickBooks – with no double entry.

In addition to the fully integrated financial system, Co-construct streamlines scheduling, communication, client and subcontractor portals, files, photos, to-dos, time clock, job log, warranty, and more.

Co-construct provides builders unlimited, no-charge projects for use with prospects, estimating, and bidding. Each builder only pays for the number of projects currently under construction.

The Co-construct subscription includes a dedicated implementation coach, custom branding to match the a builders website, phone and online support, unlimited ongoing training, and options to attend an in-person, 2-day training sessions with other Co-construct users.

This program offers a lot of different features that can help keep anyone's business running smoothly. Co-construct helps keep everyone on the same page with communication, from our internal team of workers, subcontractors, and clients. Everything can be done in one place, from scheduling, to estimates, to photos of the job site. The Co-construct team is very helpful, knowledgeable, and overall a great support system. They are very speedy to help with any problems you may have and always work their hardest to find a solution.

The only down fall we've discovered with Co-construct is that we haven't found a way to make a master calendar for the company. The scheduling system for each project is fantastic, but there doesn't seem to be a way to cohesively merge all the schedules together.

Recommendations

This truly is a great program for contractors or anyone who works on multiple project with multiple workers. It genuinely is a great tool to help improve communication between all parties involved.

Our Task Manager feature allows you to do exactly what you're looking for, where you can see and manage the tasks across all (or just certain groups) of projects in calendar, Gantt, and list form. It's perfect for seeing overall progress or checking resource conflicts between jobs. You can even use the Task Manager in our mobile app to get that same cross-project info while you're on the run. The very best think is the incredible support, which started for me before the sale. I was evaluating options and only Co-construct told me truthfully what they do well - client communication and project management of related info - and what the don't do so well, like CRM marketing stuff. The competition claimed to do other things, but upon investigation we discovered they may do more, but do it way worse.

Co-construct does what they promise and support is unbelievably good and prompt. They have made quick videos to explain how to do things we had trouble with and are always friendly.

Not really a criticism of the product, but everything has a learning curve. I suggest their co-camp, a great way to get a head-start because this program offers A LOT of features that will take time to learn.

If you like it, go for it. If not sure or comparing, sign up for a demo and write down your questions.

The competition made a lot of claims, but when we tested the features they were not good. Co-construct told us the truth about whey their product can do.

The software is user friendly, and their tech support is second to non. Their implementation team has been a big help in getting our company onto their system. We also like the quick book integration - it saves having to change accounting software.

The program was designed from the point of view of the contractor. It is flexible and thus useful no matter how a particular business is used to operating. At this point, we're using it mainly for the estimating and other financial tools, but we plan to take advantage of the communication tools in the near future. As for the vendor, I can't say enough about the Co-construct team ... they are lovely people, responsive, knowledgeable, and generous with their time and patience. The support folks have gone out of their way to help us get up and running and have been there to answer every question. They actually pick up the phone!

I am still learning how to use Co-construct. So far I have not encountered anything that makes me think "Oh, I don't like that." I am having to rethink how I do things and in some cases relearn procedures. That's not a bad thing thing but it does make life challenging.

Recommendations

Fear of change can impede implementation and has probably been the biggest obstacle to bringing our whole team on board. What I have found is when I just commit to using the software I discover how intuitive it is and easy it is to move forward.

I love the fact that you can communicate with the client, sub contractors, and employees and have everything right there. You can create, and send out change orders from within the program. Also like the fact that it can sync up with my Qb. Also great Customer Service

Keeps all our project organized from Prospect to Completed. Simplifies customer, employee, vendor and Sub-Contractor communication. Automates redundant but important tasks.
The format and process causes our organization to follow good business practices. improved our customer service, shortened our project cycle, reduced overhead, allows us to complete more projects in the same time frame.
Our managers spend their time managing projects not putting out fires and chasing their tail. Our team members know in detail the scope of work they are responsible to accomplish. They require very little managing.Vendors & Subs know what we need and when we need it.
Co-Construct's customer service department is amazing. The staff listen, respond quickly and follow up diligently until YOU Deem your issue resolved. Co-Construct has mirrored this process into their software. Using the software caused our customer service to improve.

Recommendations

I highly recommend you take several of your new projects and put them into Co-Construct run the projects thru their life span in Co-Construct. Then comparing the results with your other projects. The results will make the final decision.
You own all the information in your projects, you can very easily export it into excel & word documents.
Now keep in mind you have to work the system. If you follow the protocol, in short order it will save you more time then you are investing. Remember you got to your station in life by working hard and putting in the extra effort.

When uploading files you have to do them one at at time.

Recommendations

You should be able to upload photos to the activities list and more than one file at a time. When you realize you need to a new file/photo label that they should automatically be added to jobs in progress not just new jobs that get added after.

It's hard to say what I like least, as I honestly love everything about it. If I had to dig deep and find something, I'd say that it can be a slight hassle going back to the job list from a log page but even that isn't bad. Plus, it might be because I'm using the mobile app mostly.

It is an all in one package. I watched the videos. However, looking back I do not feel that I needed to. The software is very user friendly. I have had no problems with it crashing. I have never lost information. Even adding pictures is easy. The best overall feature that keeps me on track is the schedule. I like the option of using different schedule templates that utilize the baseline.

The best part of this product is that we have all of our projects in one spot and not just in my bosses email or head. It makes it easier to get things done much more efficiently. As far as the co-construct company, the support/customer service has gone above and beyond. When I had a unique issue, we talked on the phone & they made a video to show me on co-construct how to do what I needed and sent it to me. Pretty amazing in my book!

Realize that this product does take significant effort to get set up for your specific business. It is not a quick fix, but it is a good one when you get it all customized to meet your businesses needs. We can see already that is beginning to make a big difference for us, allowing us to take on more projects.

I love the collaborative feel of the product. Our clients enjoy using it and being able to reach us via co-construct without worrying that we may miss the message in the en-masse emails of everyday running a business. I also like that I can keep up to date on what we need on a project when my boss is out of the office. She doesn't have to wait to get back and go over the project with me - I can see all the specs/drawings through co-construct. The customer support is top notch too. I had a question and posted it to the help forum - they had an answer email for me within minutes!

I would love to see even more functionality in the app! We've had some user issues on the client side, but I think that is a generational learning gap more than an actual software flaw. Some of our older clients don't feel the site is as intuitive as I do.

Recommendations

Watch the demos and videos as that is the best way to learn. This is an all encompassing management tool. It keeps us organized, which makes the project run more smoothly.

Recommendations

1. I would like to display the various tasks on the Gantt's graph in different colours. 2. Easy switch between my view and the clients view. I do this to ensure that the righ information is displayed. 3. With the selections a function to copy/ duplicate information would be great. I can then use this to setup costs for the ground floor and first floor or bathroom 1 and 2 without re-typing everything. This is done to keep detail costs and to do detail back costing of the project.
