Co-construct is a robust web-based solution developed for custom builders and remodelers. With Co-construct, custom contractors have access to a solution that addresses the unique challenges faced by companies in this niche.

Co-construct is a collaborative solution that helps businesses coordinate their selections, schedules and photos while also improving client relationships with more dynamic, interactive communication. It's best suited to companies with less than $10 million in revenue seeking minimal IT involvement; the web-based deployment eliminates the need for a large hardware investment. It integrates with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Xero accounting systems.

Co-construct is accessed from a login form on the contractor's website. From here, team members, subs and clients can access their own secure portals to address tasks unique to their role - tracking change orders and project budget, update online schedules, share files and photos, enter jobsite logs, and access cross-project reporting. This data can be downloaded at any time and Co-construct offers mobile apps to update your schedule, retrieve files, review selections and more.  

This online portal is branded with the company name, colors and logo for a more professional look and any outgoing messages and handouts also include the company brand. Builders also get their own, branded mobile app for use with clients.

Co-construct brings together all client and sub communications into a single location; everyone can still use email, but Co-construct's patented communication feature captures and organizes these communications online, so finding something takes seconds. With email and text message alerts, clients, team members and subcontractors alike stay informed of project updates in real time.

The fastest and the most genuine team I have ever dealt with

Ease-of-use

The GUI is simple, with self explanatory icons, a logical flow, and interactive reports. It's easy to find your way around everything in just a few clicks.

Functionality

The only feature we are missing is the ability to compare quotes from different vendors by importing them here. Apart from that, all of our end-to-end processes are taken care of in here.

Product Quality

It's well-designed because it looks at the whole process from an end users' point of view. It's logical and intuitive.

Customer Support

I have experienced exceptional service from day one, when I was dealing with my sales agent. The same promptness, warmth, and concern has been demonstrated by every single support person I have interacted with. Kudos to the entire team, and Donny in particular. He must be an inspiring leader.

Being a design house, complexity in project management and communication issues are something we accept as part of our business. When we discovered Co-construct, we realized how simple everything can actually be, and on top of that, it can deliver an outstanding experience to our clients.

Being based out of India, we don't currently have our currency or timezones in it. But it's not a deal breaker, as we can always use just numbers.

Great Product!

Ease-of-use

There's lots of help and editing built in if you screw up.

Functionality

It's perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll love it even more when I have used it to its full extent.

Product Quality

I have some issues when I am adding a selection. If I try to attach a file to the selection (usually an image of the product) but have forgotten to select the price or the date, which creates an error on the page, then my file path gets removed and I have to re-add my file.

Customer Support

Great customer support! They are always quick to respond to my questions.

My clients love this! They love being able to choose from a couple of different selections that I have pre-selected, so they're not so overwhelmed with choices.

The setup takes some time, but there's no getting around that.

I needed something that was easy to use that I could phase myself into. This works great. I'm only using the selections and budget tabs for now until I have a solid schedule in place, but it's worth my money even just using the selections tab for my clients.

Excellent construction tool for builder and consumer

Ease-of-use

Anybody can pick this up. If you are having issues though, there are videos that help you through any questions.

Functionality

I love the access from anywhere. Being a web-based program, I can access it from anywhere, including my mobile.

Product Quality

It's very well-thought-out. I used this product about 5 years ago and hadn't had a lot of big projects since. I started using it again recently, and it has improved along with the times.

Customer Support

The best customer service. Followup is quick! I have never had a turnaround of more than a few hours on a question. And then they will follow up to make sure things are working well for you.

It is very easy to use and helps to keep things on track by giving homeowners the heads up when it is time to make a choice on items. It is most helpful that they know the schedule and what is getting ready to be done or what has been done.

Each section has a "help" option. The layout is very user-friendly.

All information is easily accessible. Activity tracking, communication with clients, and job management all meet our needs.

Product Quality

The site is always available; it's never down. There are more than enough areas to store information; pages are easy to see. It addresses all areas of home building for the builder and the client.

They are always responsive and complete with explanations, as well as easily accessible.

The software I have been searching for for 15 years!

Ease-of-use

You can reply to comments and questions made by clients by simply replying to the email or while in the software. Total flexibility! I also like how you can track change orders through the Selection Sheets. Clients know ahead of time if a choice they are making will cost them money, which speeds up decision making and also eliminates the "I didn't know my decision was going to cost more money" conversation.

Functionality

Budgeting, scheduling, selection sheets, change order tracking and approval. Co-construct makes the mundane tasks easy and actually a bit fun.

Product Quality

Easy to navigate, always available, safe in the cloud, and easy on the eyes.

Customer Support

Co-construct customer service is very quick to respond to questions. I found the initial videos they recommend gave me enough training to hit the ground running. My clients felt the same way. They use it, and so does their architect.

Co-construct delivers a product that tackles the most difficult aspects of the custom home business in a way that is easy for builders and clients to use. I like to use it, but most importantly, so do my clients. The staff of Co-construct are proactive and eager to answer questions.

Great way of seeing the building process!

Ease-of-use

When I was trying to upload photos from my Chromebook, it wasn't compatible. It makes it frustrating when I can't upload a photo.

Functionality

I am still new to the software but getting better with it everyday. It seems great so far minus the little incompatibilities with Chromebook.

Product Quality

It's been amazing being able to communicate with clients so easily.

Customer Support

They are quick to respond and try to figure out the problems.

Our primary tool for doing mass photo uploads, cropping, and rotation uses Java, which is not supported by Chromebooks. However, we did contact the client to let him know that he can still upload by simply emailing photos into the project or by posting them via our iOS and Android mobile apps.

Areas are laid out well; most things "talk" to each other well.

Functionality

Very easy to navigate. The training videos are usually all you need to get started.

Simple, quick, and easy. The platform is great. The mobile site is more difficult and less thorough to use.

I use Co-construct as the head designer for a residential builder.

Ease-of-use

The interface is easy to use with the icons. It doesn't take much to know your way around to find the information that you need quickly. The videos also are a great way to learn the program.

Functionality

All the functions line up with the different elements of residential construction, from knowing what the budget allowances are to creating change orders. I especially like that I receive emails to remind me what is upcoming and when a task is late. I also like that a client can respond to various things through an email system that goes out to everyone in the company.

Product Quality

This is a great product. Co-construct is easy to work with and helps us stay on top of our projects.

Customer Support

I couldn't log in because of an email change. It didn't take long for someone to call me back, and I was back in and working again in a very short amount of time. Very professional.

It's very thorough and user friendly. It doesn't take long to learn how to use the product. It's great having one place to log in and see the progress of all our clients.

Using it on my iPhone app was a little tricky. It doesn't have the same ease, and if I recall, I couldn't pull up the budget.

Online software is very easy to learn for both clients and vendors.

We build roughly 45 homes a year. We are not a huge builder, but the ease of use between all parties is excellent.

I am very impressed by the layout online. It looks professional.

Customer Support

All the vendors have said that the weekly notifications help them on scheduling.

It's very easy set up to get started. The mobile app is very liked by all vendors and clients. Easy to set up and change scheduling both ways: from the app or online. Messaging has never been better. Love the marketing you get for handouts and the online video. Helps sell us!

You can't pull up change orders or client info on the app.

By far, I would choose this online software over the others we have tried in the past.

Ease-of-use

The layout is mostly intuitive, simply designed, and the tools to learn it are plentiful and easily accessible.

Functionality

When we initially began researching, our primary need was for a CRM database. We found a way to use the current Co-construct system partially for this need but moreso for other needs. In the meantime, we're eagerly waiting for the CRM application for Co-construct.

Product Quality

The quality is excellent; the site overall is well designed and user-friendly. No complaints.

Customer Support

Excellent. From day 1, we've had immediate and thorough support, no matter what question or issue we may have had.

Likes Best

The customer support has been phenomenal from day one. The price is reasonable, especially for the volume and diversity of use that we will get out of it.

Just like all software integration, the set-up can be a bit involved. However, I feel the Co-construct team does a great job of preparing you for this and making it as easy as it can be.

I've yet to find a "glitch" or "issue" with Co-construct. They preemptively communicate with their clients continually asking how they can be better with their product or services. From personal experience, I can attest to their quick and personal response time when helping to answer questions. Again, I've yet to find a weakness with their product!

Helps me stay in touch with my GC

Ease-of-use

The "Update" button is a little unintuitive. It should probably be labeled "Mark Read," "Done," or "Okay" instead of "Update". Once we realized that if you click on the "Update" button that it marks that update as read, it got a lot easier to use the website.

Functionality

Pretty much meets all our needs. Again, a Box.com integration would get it a 10, since it would eliminate duplication of effort.

Product Quality

The software works. We haven't experienced downtime.

Customer Support

We haven't had to interact with them yet.

Likes Best

Love that my GC and his team can update me and send photos. I can interact with his team pretty much in real-time without having to go onsite to the project to see what's planned and being worked on for the week.

I wish it integrated better with Box.com. We've worked with both our architect and interior designer on Box.com. Having to re-upload some of those docs to Co-construct has been duplicated effort.

Recommendations

Think about who should have access to what. Make sure that you setup people with the right level of access. We've been pretty happy with how Co-construct lets the GC run the process. Heck, he's the one paying to use this software, but we just benefit from it.

After reading this review, we followed up with Eddie to learn more about the technical issues he was having with his Apple device. They related to one particularly large page, using the full website, rather than the mobile app, on an iPad 1 that was four years old. He since has gotten newer device, and there have been no more issues. We do test on (and enjoy using) Apple products, so we definitely verified that this was an isolated case that has now been resolved.

A welcome addition to our management systems

It is no harder to learn than any other business use software on the market. They have great tech support if you have questions or need a walk-through.

It is a platform for communicating and delivering information between clients and contractors.

The site is clean and easily understandable from the dashboard. More user control over milestone attachment in the schedule would be welcome.

Between having a person you can talk to that knows the product inside and out to email lessons and videos, they have covered the bases of product support!

I like the ease with which we can interact with our clients without having to make a phone call or send a random email. We can have a conversation about a selection or an item on the schedule, all while it is being recorded for review by all parties.
