Co-construct Software


 

Co-construct is robust web and mobile-based project, financial, and client management system for custom home builders and remodelers. It is the only single-entry estimating system that allows each user to enter a piece of information once, and have that data flow directly from the estimate, specifications, selections, bids, change orders, budgets, and to and from QuickBooks – with no double entry.

In addition to the fully integrated financial system, Co-construct streamlines scheduling, communication, client and subcontractor portals, files, photos, to-dos, time clock, job log, warranty, and more.

Co-construct provides builders unlimited, no-charge projects for use with prospects, estimating, and bidding. Each builder only pays for the number of projects currently under construction.

The Co-construct subscription includes a dedicated implementation coach, custom branding to match the a builders website, phone and online support, unlimited ongoing training, and options to attend an in-person, 2-day training sessions with other Co-construct users.

How comprehensive it is. It takes a little bit to get the selections going and we still have a lot of that to do but it can be very powerful.

Not much to say. We have our own internal issues with using it but form the most part it's great.

Recommendations

Getting homeowners on board is difficult. Our company builds homes that are very different from each other and everything is always changing. It does get difficult to keep track of that but that's the nature of the business and the software can keep that straight. However when your the only person in town using the product it does make it difficult to get all the subs and partners to use and stay on top of the software. Some are less savvy than others as well.

Recommendations

Take the time to learn all of the uses. Set up a trial job to use internally to work out all the specifications etc.... prior to launching it on new customers.

Co-construct allows you so much latitude it's crazy! you can mould each job to the particular client and their specific needs, communication is centralized and can be specific to any part of the job making it simple to find information and communicate with the client, you can keep track of important budget information and share with the client your progress and where the costs are sitting the entire way through, you are notified about everything you choose which is amazing. all the info you need is at your finger tips in a moment. Adjustments to the build schedule are easy to make and filter through to the entire job making the process understandable and reliable. You can set todo's for yourself or some one else very easily. you can load and share files, invoices, quotes for review, photos of progress at the job site. I could go on and on, but the short of it is..... Co-construct rocks!!

their is very little that i do not like about co-construct. If there was one area i would like to see some imporvement it would be in the todo section. I feel like they could be a little more detailed. In the set up it would be nice to be able to assign a date for the todo, and also updating the todo with notes on progress. I may just not have been using them long enough. I worked for Edward Jones for 7 years and have to say they have amazing software for todo and task tracking. You might like to pick their brains if you can.

Recommendations

Look at all the training videos. Review them. Speak to a co-construct representative. And throughly research your alternatives. I have used nothing that can compare in this industry.

I like the training and support. I have joked that software developers show give their product away and then charge big bucks to teach us how to implement and use the program. Co-Construct goes a step further by only charging a reasonable monthly fee per project. So lots of help getting me up and running plus a reasonable fee = a big win for the user!

I am a small custom home and remodeling contractor. Many of my projects are unique for my Company. Having said that, it would be nice to have a larger template bases to draw from, if only to check for cost items that we may have overlooked. Perhaps an organization of users into a group could supply this kind of help.

Customer service is on the ball and gets our problems solved quickly

The customer area is very limited. We should be able to enter in MORE customer information in the set up screen and have it save that info into contacts. You need to add a messenger that can be general message and not sent to everyone's email.

Recommendations

The software is fantastic thus far. It is definitely worth getting. The customer service and transition team is extremely helpful. As anything there is a learning curve so be prepared to make a few mistakes and lose a couple customers out of the gate.

I most like the ease of use. It is incredibly easy to get started with this program. I also like how things can easily be consolidated and discussed with clients right on this program.

I do not like the fact that I can not upload a new selection item that is created in an individual job to the master selection template after I have created it for a specific job.

Take a minute to look over the training and recommendations on setting up the selection template. It will save time and keep you from having to change things a million times down the road.

I love the ease of use, the way evrything flows from one document to the next and as far as teh Co-Construct team they are amazing! They are reachable all the time and are able toquickly solve any concerns or answer any questions you have.

I struggled at first with fitting my current documents to the correct template within Co-Construct as we carry open jobs on the balnce sheet which can be a little backwards, we are still fairly new however after a little tweaking on my part and a lot of help from Co-Constructs point of contact we have our templates complete.

TRY IT! YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY IT! Co-Construct offers a class that runs over the course of a couple days and it is worth every penny spent. You learn how to work in the sytem and how to set things up and most iportantly you build a network of peers that are going through the same process.

Talk to the users - not the salespeople!! We use the software day in and day out. Talk to all departments - estimating, accounting, clients, management... make sure it's working for every one.

Total communication with clients and partners. We are all on the "same sheet of music" understanding tasks, scheduling, upcoming events, notifications, change orders, reviewing quotes, pictures, and plans. Where have you been Co-Construct. Definitely have less delays in production schedule.

The scheduling needs to have total duration for the project on the Gantt view, top and bottom. Also, incorporating the budget amounts in the scheduling task helps forecast cash needs with clients.

The message center. It is organized and the whole office is able to see everything.

What has helped me the most is watching the help videos side by side with my co-construct screen. As a help video takes me through something I pause it and try it for myself. I also like that the videos stay up on the site so if I need a refresher I am able to pull the video back up to review it.
