As the name might suggest, PMWeb is a web-based solution geared toward construction project management. The software is built on the Microsoft .NET technology and can be accessed via a web client anywhere with Internet access. This helps construction contractors stay connected to their project management documents any time of day from anywhere in the world. PMWeb can serve real estate development, heavy and highway contractors, utility contractors, engineers, general contractors, and many other construction trades.

The software offers an extensive array of applications to help contractors manage their projects. PMWeb offers takeoff, estimating, bid management, project scheduling, project management, customer management, and service management on a best-of-breed basis. Constructions firms have to buy the project management application but can pick and choose which other web-based applications they need to manage their projects.

To increase the usability of the software, PMWeb has created a drag & drop interface that aids in the estimating process. You'll also find capabilities to support multiple languages, Google Maps integration to keep track of project locations, and a visual workflow to help see the flow of data more clearly.

We find the software to be best suited for companies with at least $25 million in revenue, 11 or more employees, and need at least 6-10 users.

We are an Engineering-Management-Construction company in the Dominican Republic and had been using Primavera Contract Manager for the last 4 years. Recently we acquired several PMWeb modules and have been working with them for less than two months. It is definitely a gigantic step in the Portfolio/Construction software market. PMWeb is intuitive, powerful, and very user-friendly. These guys have developed a LEGO version in this market. What they have done is to develop a huge amount of small routines that manage every process in the construction industry and have put them together in one powerful package.

The most important part is that it is NOT a closed platform. It is incredibly easy to develop reports and routines, so you can almost customize your base. The Visual Workflow Manager lets you create visual processes that will help others understand what to do, and ensure that every process follows the path it is supposed to. The developers of PMWeb are constantly improving the package. Excellent software!!!
