I most like that Procore encompasses so many different aspects of Project Management - Field safety, Budget, Accounting (Sage), Photos, Bidding...Procore really is trying and succeeding at working with a project from start to finish. Procore has absolutely helped our company with Drawing and Document management.

Likes Least

I dislike that features often change without notice. There have been several new tools appear and I feel that our company could better utilize them if they were rolled out in a more informative manner. This includes large roll outs like the Observation tab and small changes like the commitments tool. The commitments tool was recently changed and it now requires that a Company be entered, whereas before it was not mandatory. The other rollout that could have perhaps been more informative was the Windows 10 app. On a side note: I wish the notifications were fully working, as we have been struggling for several months trying to find a solution.

Recommendations

I would suggest that you absolutely nail down what your needs are and verify that the software can accommodate.

It's simplicity. All aspects of a project are neatly organized in tabs. This makes it easy to access project information for all, even your not-so-technically-advanced subcontractor. It allows the entire project team to look at plans while on the jobsite. It keeps architects and engineers in line by giving them due dates for items such as RFIs and submittal, and every project team member can see how long an item is outstanding.

Likes Least

Inspections and Observations, although new features to Procore, need some work added to them.

Recommendations

Training and learning Procore's functions is simple. Procore is your 1-Stop site/app for everything project related (Schedule, Plans, RFIs, Submittals, Accounting). No need to use any other programs.

Product was awesome, Features for accounting made life so much easier for all of our accountants and very user friendly. Project Management feature helped us monitor the course of construction throughout the project and served as our reference point for us if we needed to go back and research... It also allowed us to go back and edit if we needed to change information on CO's, RFI's, Pay Apps and or submittals.. Customer support was awesome, if we needed any help or had any question regarding the product...

Price was a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for...

Recommendations

I would recommend this product for Midsize to Large contractors willing to pay for this product... Smaller contractors may be put off by cost of product...

It's ability to perform on multiple devices and the customer support has been exceptional. The training videos make self teaching easy, and I am able to re watch as many times as needed.

Likes Least

features are limited on the mobile device such as change order viewing and generation. I also don't like the email function. if a user is not in the directory I cannot email them directly from the procore portal. I then have to copy the job email address and remember to insert it when emailing through my normal email portal. Emails received through the procore portal often get deleted because they look like a spam message.

Recommendations

Make sure to run through specific situations you use in everyday work environments to see how big of an adjustment is needed to incorporate procore into the everyday operations.

There are numerous things I like about Procore. What I like best about Procore would be that it is a great organizational tool. It helps streamline every day tasks, whether it be sending submittals to be approved or simply keeping track of time spent on site. The fact that it helps so much with time management (which is key for project planning) is a crucial aspect of the software which makes me really enjoy it. It makes life easier by keeping record of just about every aspect of a project. It's extremely helpful that Procore keeps track of emails for you in regards to things like submittals. This makes it so there is no confusion about whether or not an email was actually sent or received. The software also allows construction documents to get approved in a more time efficient manner. I love that the architect, or whomever is the approver, can do so online via a credible software instead of just word of mouth, or in an email. It is much more legitimate. In terms of the vendor, they have been great. Their customer service is outstanding. They are readily available to help no matter what time of day it is - which is wonderful. They also provide many tutorials and seminars to help get a deeper understanding of the software and all that it does. Every time I have contacted customer service they have been quick and to the point. I really appreciate this because when I am at work, my time is even more valuable and I have a sense of urgency with everything I do. Being in the construction industry there are always crucial deadlines that are important to make. I don't have time to sit and chat with customer service for hours as they ask me annoying protocol questions that jump around the initial question that I have. So Procore has really been great with that.

Likes Least

Some of the layout is bothersome. For example, the project directory. The project directory would be better for close out documents if it was organized in a different way. I would love to see procore organize it by division. The software is also rather costly. It is a big expense, though I have found it to be worthwhile.

Recommendations

Think about whether or not it is cost effective for your business and if it would streamline your company's work load.

(I'm a design project manager, just to give some perspective on my comments.)
Submittal tracking is good. Good storage of all documents. Good location for all current drawings.

Likes Least

RFIs - Need to make these work like submittals so I can forward onto other team members for review, and then come back to me for final approval. Now, there's no way to change the Ball in Court. I have to just email and try to remember which I've emailed.
Procore emails - Need to somehow emphasize the purpose of the email. I get multiple emails for the submittal tracking (we have a lot of the options turned on). Sometimes it's a struggle to figure out why I'm receiving a particular email. Maybe highlight the item (for example, if there is a comment, or approval or whatever).

Recommendations

Test it out first. A flow-chart would also be nice, to tell me what is happening when I do something. For example, when I approve a submittal, who is getting notified, etc.

How I can attach photos of work to each trade with a few words of what they did. The feature of attaching work in progress to the trade page is nice. That way one does not have to look through the photo album and wonder what is going on with a specific trade.

Likes Least

I can not edit the photos from my iPad. Once a picture is in the photo library it can not have the words edited or added to. Or have words added to pictures with no captions. Because of this one has to write on a report page what is going on in the pictures which is extra work.

Recommendations

Make sure that everything can be edited by the one that does the writing from the field.

We love the ease of use of the software and that our field employees can access anywhere on their mobile device or iPad when they need to most. Our experience with Procore Support has been phenomenal!

Likes Least

Vendor = nothing.
Product = That if you email from a particular tab, it doesn't carry over to the email tab. It would be nice to have it all captured in one spot.
Not being able to edit user email addresses. One example is we had an Architect get married. Her company changed her email address. Procore told us we had to inactivate her and create a new account. Then we lost everything she was connected to on many projects prior to that. That sucked!
Being able to bulk edit submittals would be extremely helpful. Most of the times, we have set the workflow, then the approvers change and we have to hand edit each entry.

Recommendations

Really do your research on each software program, ask for trial runs, test each one as much as you can, then make your decision.
