Project DocControl was developed by specialty contractors from architecture, engineering, and construction trades. The system was developed with specialty contractors in mind to help centralize the large volumes of paperwork that contractors deal with day to day. Project DocControl allows specialty contractors to generate and maintain project documents while creating a system of traceability.
This project management software is supplied to specialty contractors as a stand-alone system, otherwise known as a best-of-breed product. The project management application contains modules for photo management, document control, contract management, equipment and resource management to name a few. The software also includes a dashboard module that allows for easy access and organization of project documents.
The system is capable of serving a variety of company sizes. Companies that do less than $1 million every year can get just as much out of it as a company that makes up to $1 billion. We think that the system is ideal for specialty contractors in the concrete, electrical/teledata, roofing & siding, mechanical/HVAC as well as several other industries.
We like Project DocControl because it allows for the buyer to decide which deployment option works best for them. For companies that like to keep all their data at the office, the software is available either on-premise or web-enabled. For companies that would like to have their data in the cloud, the software is available as a web-based solution.

This is a solid, easy to use, project management app that works great for any type of subcontractor. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Anyone with basic Microsoft skills will easily adapt to this software. It handles all the necessary functions needed for project managers - RFIs, submittals, POs, subcontracts, changes orders, and will do a whole list of other things as well.
Ease of use and cost.
Would like to be able to customize easier; some forms don't display info exactly how I would prefer.
Definitely worth considering if cost is an issue.

The ability to track the status of RFI's, Change Order's and Submittals. It prints out great reports you can take to meetings allowing me to question the progress or lack of progress for all and give a copy to everyone to see who is the holdup.
I don't like not having the ability to change the column widths in the Payment Application to give the owner more Description with out having to print a more detailed report.
Check it out first hand and see it is very user friendly. This is very important when you are hiring new team members.
