This software does almost everything

Amazing, I use it for everything residential without Fail, nothing beats this software when it come to Residential Roofing

PROS

I can estimate any Residential roof with ease and precision

CONS

This program doesn't handle Large scale products too well, Commercial and Industrial type estimating needs more attention by the Developers to work efficiently (this can be done with precision but is not very efficient in terms of time taken). Wall Cladding Needs a lot of work to work efficiently

Vendor Response

The Best Roof Estimating Software our there!

PROS

Roofwizard is a great program! It is based on the universally wellknown autocad platform and catered to the roofing market. modeling and modifying is simplified for even a basic user. and the training provided by AppliCad both onsite and online breaks down using the software into an easy to understand format. The modeling capabilities of the software combined with the software's capability to be used with multiple other software formats and the willingness of the Applicad folks to to help make their software best work for you gives this program nearly unlimited potential for multiple facets.

CONS

As a US user, some of the standard formatting seems to get a bit jumbled when converting from metric. Seems like some of input going out to the 3rd or 4th decimal gets lost in translation. Also, things that might be considered "Default" settings are scattered about the software sometimes making them difficult to diagnose. Defaults also seem to follow the .dab file they are attached to rather than adjust the defaults of the .dab file to your machine. Could be incorrect there.

Worth it if you invest the time

PROS

Comprehensive take off system, that is very accurate. Absolutely love Block Cutting and the ability to show Contractors where certain roofing needs to go.

CONS

To set up correctly takes ages, and to set up correctly you need more than and entry level knowledge of computers, also if you don't have knowledge of how a long run roof goes together (off cuts flipping over and going to opposite of hip etc), well you need that knowledge, unless you're using it to just to get a Square Metre rate. In the age of instant gratification it's not instantly user friendly. If the set up could be streamlined in some way, it would go a long way... Honestly the set up is the biggest thing.

Excellent Software

PROS

This is one of the most powerful software on the market. The ease with which it tackles roofs is incredible. This has reduced our Quotation time, and improved accuracy of all material supplied.

CONS

Personally not a lot, only user limitations.

Vendor Response

Thanks Charl. We do our best to produce the best software for your business. Appreciate the kind words. We have certainly done some amazing stuff with our software in recent years, all due to input from our customers all over the world.

Roof wizard and Team Hamilton

PROS

Roof Wizard can do anything you want it to, It's only limited by the user.....Applicad has excellent customer service, support & back up. If you find yourself struggling all that's needed is a call or email and POW!!! problem sorted!! Team Hamilton have been using Applicad's suite of products for over 10 years. Roof Wizard & Warlock (for walls / siding) have now been merged / combined into one powerful package.

CONS

It has some steep learning curves but Michael Schumacher didn't get in his F1 and scorch the tarmac first time either, hey?
