The idea that it is an all inclusive software for Contract Management and Accounting

CMiC is great at sales but lacking in efficiency and honest product representation. The product itself - CMiC Cloud - has not been developed for the Architectural industry and requires tons of customization (at a hefty price) and software accommodation.

Recommendations

Do NOT allow salespersons to push into purchasing with ambiguous statements of product function. It is a very complex system that is designed for the construction industry. It is clunky and difficult for the majority of personnel to master without intensive training.

I wanted the cloud hosting and didn't want to have to have a 25 seat minimum. The three seat minimum was great for our size company and our current needs. The contacts I had with the company seemed more helpful than I had with some of the other companies I was looking in to.

Good customer service.
The product applies very well to our needs. Unlike other products, this software doesn't try to cover all the possible aspects in the industry, which makes it easy to use and understand. It doesn't over complicate things. We are still learning how to use it, but my colleagues and I, we are pleased with the way the training is going so far.

Recommendations

Give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised. I love the simplicity and it is not overloaded with useless information.

We came from a QuickBooks and spreadsheet environment, and this is a whole different world. I love the product and the people we've been dealing with. The product really is light years ahead of everyone else.

We implemented really fast. That was a key feature for us. We had ample training, and being a cost cautious company, we were able to get what we needed on budget. There are some really useful apps that you can add onto the software that we are looking to upgrade with. Also, the SaaS model helps a lot by reducing our operating costs. We appreciated being able to call in when we had a question, and the support staff were always available, that's a big plus for us.

We were a little confused at first about how cloud-computing worked, but our sales person was able to narrow down the benefits and that helped. We were used to working with Excel and hadn't used Accounting and Project Management software before. I think it's not what we liked least, but more that cloud technology is not what we're used to. But we were able to pick up on the differences and benefits really quickly.

Recommendations

Let the HIKUU sales staff really explain the benefits of a cloud-based service. When you really understand the real-time integration, accounting, project management, and the other apps, you'll have a clearer picture on what you want. For us, we'd recommend HIKUU to other firms. When something works, it works.

The Outlook integration! It makes it so easy to manage all my documents and change orders. Cloud access allows me to work from anywhere and allows Subcontractors to fill in quotes online. The reporting is very extensive.

It's very robust. There's almost too much functionality for our size, but we can hide the parts we don't need.

Recommendations

If you choose the full ERP, consider starting Project Management first. Learning everything at once can be overwhelming.

It is cloud-based. There's no need to do periodic updates and maintain the software ourselves.

They're still working out a few kinks. Mouse and data entry isn't as smooth as it should be. It's somewhat sensitive and I get kicked out often. Different web browsers work differently. I'm constantly changing web browsers due to this.

Recommendations

Training and implementation takes time. Make sure you have a team and time dedicated to this.

I work for a medium sized general contracting company based in Toronto. We have implemented CMiC's SaaS based xProjects solution.

We are using xProjects to manage all of our communications, RFI's and Change Orders. I used CMiC's xProjects for the first time last month. I was very impressed with the implementation/training services that the CMiC team proved.

CMiC's I/O Technology is fantastic and has helped streamline our collaboration efforts across the company. xProjects just works as you would expect it to. The fact that's its a SaaS based product allows me to access my data from any computer with an Internet connection.

We have only been live for a short period of time, but I have nothing but great things to say about CMiC's customer service and their product.

After 20 years of searching, we finally found an application that covers all of our needs. We appreciate the personal service we receive from CMIC and are happy with the results and quick ROI we have gotten from simply using this software. We have replaced accounting, Project Management and share-point with CMiC Pro Software. We were able to go live in about five months, including payroll and human resources.
