With SuiteCRM, users can create business process models and design flexible, automated actions that can be triggered to run at any time. Users can also model sales pipelines and create templated customer quotes, control pricing strategies, maintain contract renewals and track lead progress.
Users can also support customers through business-unique self-service portals. Service teams are instantly notified of customer requests and customers are instantly notified when the issues have been addressed and resolved.
SuiteCRM is free to download and use, with customization coming at a fee to the business. A community forum is available for free support, while dedicated support services are available to small and midsize clients and unique solutions with dedicated account managers are available to large enterprise clients.

The product has all its modules available and ready at the point of install which means you have access to every feature and functionality straight away. As it is an enterprise product it has powerful capabilities and because it is open source it is all free to use no matter how many users you have. The system covers off everything I would need to track for my customers or prospects, its great having everything in all in the one place which helps drives my sales and marketing.
The admin panel allows you to customise the look and feel of the system, however to fully customise the software for your own needs you need to have some technical know-how in order to complete the some of the tasks.
SuiteCRM is one of the best I have tried (and I've tried a few) I cannot believe that you get all this for FREE. I would say that you might need some technical assistance if you are not technically minded in order to set-up your instance of SuiteCRM but is is worth the perseverance or finding some help online.

It's all open source which allows you to customize pretty much anything you want if you have some software development experience. However, simple adjustments like creating additional fields and workflows can be done through the Admin interface and is pretty straight forward.
It breaks easily. Moving servers or performing updates often requires trouble shooting. If you are not up for that you should use their hosted service.
Every business is different. When it comes to CRMs I recommend selecting a CRM that allows a maximum level of customization and automation even if you don't see the need for it yet.
