For the past 25 years, Intac International has been supplying field service, installation, and construction companies with the tools they need to manage their entire business with one simple to use program. Intac’s all-in-one solution, Wintac, includes full accounting and comes with a full year of live unlimited support.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments, so that dispatchers can easily monitor the schedule and re-assign calls if needed. Technicians in the field can access their schedule at any time through the Wintac web-portal. Wintac also allows businesses to easily track service contracts for each customer and equipment at every location. Know when service is due, contracts expire, as well as the entire service history on any piece of equipment with the click of a button.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals, and managing accounting. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs, and payroll. From there, Wintac has the capabilities to generate cost and profit analysis reports. Information can be shared on internet ready smart phones, tablets, and laptops, and the system supports e-signature capture in the field.

Software User for 20 years

Ease-of-use

The software itself is very easy to use. The only difficulty is if there are problems to get worked out, then it is difficult to get the correct technical help.

Functionality

We started using the dispatching feature a few years ago, and that made life easier for everyone here. Anyone can look at the dispatch board and know schedules for everyone. I wish some of the accounting aspects were easier to use.

Product Quality

The quality of the product is good. We have had some problems, but it's difficult to tell if it is our computer system or a software problem.

Customer Support

We have dealt with problems since the last upgrade three years ago. We called customer support and were told things would get resolved, but they didn't. It is difficult to call and complain over and over; we gave up and have lived with the problems.

Likes Best

Wintac has grown with us for over 20 years. A huge amount of history is accessible and easy to use. It's easy to train someone on the Wintac software.

Likes Least

When there are "glitches," it isn't easy to figure out the problem and get it taken care of.

Look down the road to make sure you choose a company that will allow your company to grow without changing software.

Great software that will grow with your company

Ease-of-use

It is very easy to use even for those who are not very techy.

Functionality

There are some ways we run our accounting and inventory that do match up with Wintac. I would say we only use about 90% of Wintac to its fullest potential due to this.

Product Quality

It is very good quality. If there are any glitches, tech support fixes them and gets you an update immediately.

Customer Support

As I stated before, tech support is more about making Wintac work on your computer, not so much for making it work within your company.

As we have grown from a two-man shop to a ten-man shop, the software has consistently been upgraded to grow with us.

Tech support is more about getting Wintac to turn on and run, not how to use new features or make Wintac fit your company.

Recommendations

Make sure you have your network optimized if running on more than one computer. If you don't have a fast network (e.g.-cat 6 wire, fast routers), Wintac can run very slowly.

Due to the fact that I have not worked with another program of this type, I have nothing to compare it to. I do know we have run into a few issues over the years but manage to perform what is needed using everything Wintac has to offer.

We have always had great customer support. Due to various hardware issues, we have relied on customer support to guide us and have not been let down.

Great software to increase productivity

Ease-of-use

The ability to create work orders, add parts and labor to them, and then convert those work orders to invoices with just a few clicks increases our productivity.

Functionality

I wouldn't change 80% of the the product's functionality. I only desire to have more customization capability.

Product Quality

It's a very well-designed and trouble-free system with very few quirks that we have also found in other software systems.

Customer Support

Customer support is great, including the chat capability that allows me to continue working while I get questions answered.

Likes Best

Easy-to-use system. The dispatch system seems to be designed for equipment distributors, such as our company, although other industries use it. It's supported by a company that cares about their customers.

I would like the ability to create custom reports, modify existing reports, select different inventory control methods other than average cost, and move paid invoices from one customer account to another.

Recommendations

Unless you want to pay for expensive custom software and have time go through the development process, select software that you need for your core business with the understanding that you won't get everything you want.

Wintac is a good product for our business!

It is user-friendly, but the standard inventory feature is not.

The basic features are fine; just the inventory feature needs addressed.

The product only seems to get buggy every so often; it's pretty reliable.

I like the customer browse feature and also the financial summary to keep track of unpaid invoices. It is nice being able to see what money's outstanding. The product was easy to load, but manually uploading information was somewhat cumbersome. It fits the needs of our company overall with a feel that it is adequate for the purpose and application.

There needs to be improvement to the inventory feature. It should have the ability to scan barcoded inventory into the system as a standard feature.

Recommendations

Look at all of the features and then evaluate the price.

Like any software, it takes a little time to "get it;" however, it is much easier to grasp than other software we have tried and used in the past.

Very good support. They are just a phone call away and will remote in to your computer for anything they cannot explain over the phone.

Some understanding of how to use the fields is needed to make reporting easier.

Using Wintac is easy, everything is straight forward, and the help button is always there.

It is fairly simple and efficient in what it does, but it does have a bit of a learning curve.

It is fairly difficult to think of ways to improve this product, but the Wintac staff does it every year with the upgrade.

Customer support is good, but there may be a time that you need one small iota of information that they will not provide unless you pay for Tech Support.

It is fairly straightforward to use and has lots of features that you find out are quite handy.

You cannot open multiple windows; this can sometimes be a pain if you are trying to open two sets of information at once.

Recommendations

It does help to have a bit of hand-holding for the first little bit of using. The Wintac forums are excellent at connecting service companies who may need help in this area.

There is a great deal of information. The process of going to one area of work or another can be a little daunting at first.

We only use it for dispatch as of yet, but it works very well.

It seems to be very well thought out. There was a good deal of programming put into this.

They are always willing and available. I especially like the live chat. If they can't understand you, they will give you a call.

The dispatching portion is very effective and greatly increases the efficiency of our workers. There is a bit of a learning curve, and a great deal of setup. I would start with a mock company to learn the features and then set it up the way you want.

Wintac is perfect for our plumbing business!

Ease-of-use

Fairly easy. I judge software on how easy or difficult it is to teach users who don't normally use computers.

Functionality

Perfectly. Wintac generates a simple invoice, while we keep a clearly-defined data path (what was done, notes, and when it was invoiced and paid).

Product Quality

Excellent. We receive solicitations from other software vendors and have yet to see any that would meet our needs as well as Wintac.

Customer Support

It has been awhile since we have needed any support, but when we did, we were very pleased with anyone who assisted us from Intac International.

I depend on an external IT vendor to install and maintain Wintac - wish I could do it myself.

Recommendations

I have already suggested Wintac to a few contractors (in New Jersey) whose businesses exploded due to Hurricane Sandy work.

Also, I would recommend to always enter as much contact data about the customer as possible (email contacts, land line AND cell #s, etc.)
