Umbie Dentalcare is a cloud-based dental practice management solution that helps dentists manage patients, organize dental records, and handle scheduling and billing through one web-based platform. The system can be accessed from any location with an Internet connection and a browser, using computers, laptops, or mobile devices.

The solution includes touch-enabled clinical charting, x-ray integration, image storage, e-prescribing, treatment planning, staff management, patient scheduling, billing, payment processing, insurance claims management, and much more.

Umbie is backed by in-house development and support teams and configuration and training is provided and tailored specifically to each practice. The platform also offers data conversion services to help migrate from any pre-existing software solutions.

Umbie DentalCare is a secure, scalable solution that supports small offices as well as large multi-office practices.

Cloud-based and very well on the front end. Scheduling and other functions are easy.

The back end billing needs some work, but they are working on it and know the areas that could be better. It functions fine, but we would like to see a little better ease of use.

Recommendations

Know what your needs and wants are and find out who offers what you need and then if they have what you want. Umbie had solutions to what we needed, and has a lot of what we wanted as well.

Umbie is very user friendly. The transition from Dentrix was seamless. Everyone that I have had contact with during our conversion has been very helpful. If I have an issue with something or not sure how to do something, they get back to me quickly with help.

The only thing I have an issue with is the treatment plan portion is slow to respond and freezes. I have notified them and they are a working on this. We are not sure if it is my internet or the program.

Recommendations

Make sure you have fast internet and enough computers for your office. That way you can use the program to it's full potential.

Easy to use cloud based dental software. Also, good customer service and support makes a huge difference.

There is no need for the server and in office computer network. Great patient notification system.

It works slow sometimes. Sometimes we have to wait for the support call back for several hours.

Recommendations

Make sure you have high internet speed. Be patient when you get used to it it becomes easy.

I love that it's cloud-based, and I can access my records anywhere. It's highly customizable, and features continue to grow and improve monthly. The text, phone, and email reminders work well. The support is great too! They're highly responsive and can usually correct any problem we have pretty quickly.

The charting graphics could use improvement -- both for tooth charting and periodontal charting.

Recommendations

The support has been extremely helpful. Umbie may not yet have every bell and whistle, but their development team listens to feedback and makes improvements to the functionality and user experience accordingly.

Tends to be a little behind in electronic insurance filing when compared to other software out there; however, is easy to navigate and does get the job done efficiently.

Like the all-in-one features the software offers (practice management, insurance verification, pt communications, etc..). Rather than split between multiple vendors, you can find it all in one location. Umbie is ever changing. While they aren't perfect, the dev team is very collaborative when it comes to new features and troubleshooting issues.

Our company has multiple locations. Current architecture of the software can make certain office and user settings across all locations cumbersome. (e.g. with a new user, you need to log in to each location's office setting to give access vs access from the given user's profile (one location)).

Recommendations

Know what your office protocols are and how the software fits your needs. Ask to preview and run all of you daily, weekly, monthly protocols.

We needed a mobile office management program that can help with our clinical team that was on the go and Umbie help created some additional functionality, so we can use it for our mobile unit when they on the field to set schedule, look up patients on the fly, view their x-rays, and take x-rays. Umbie help make all these function work together seamlessly very well.

Wish there was more function in reporting for more option to report base on region/office location and other type of reports that end user can possible create templates for user specific report base on data from the system that we can choose.

Recommendations

If you are looking for a mobile office application in the cloud, this is the service you want. They are great at listening to your needs, which is impossible to find in a software company these days.

No real recommendation..... from what I can tell Umbie has the most functionality of all the "cloud" based products.

Cloud based software give constant uninterrupted access to your patients info. IT team is pretty quick to respond and guide you. It is the easiest and user friendly software I have used if compared to Eagle soft and Dentrix. IT team is constantly listening and upgrading the product to improve client's experience.

The product is new and still has many arrears that need to be developed with more details and take into account many more insurance / payment scenarios.

Recommendations

Patient portal to be less clattered and more simplified. Looking forward to the check-in kiosk. Update the Imaging part with a ruler button.

Really a phenomenal dental software! Its WAY prettier and user-friendly than opendental, still cloud based and they are continually updating... absolutely streamlines a lot, especially insurance related, such as check eligibility, claims submit and resubmits, etc. partnerships with EDS and Fastattach, among others, means you are saving a lot of $ in all these 'add-on' programs. Getting in now means any feedback is looked into right away and recommendations actually lead to changes!! The support is great - we have ONE rep, whom we email (sometimes 3-4x a week even) and he responds within 48hrs with a solution or looks into it and figures it out. no phone time, no need to follow up or send repeated issues.... just really overall phenomenal! So happy to live in 2016 with all the new options available, and Umbie is by far the best.

Its a work in progress. the initial training sessions cover a LOT, but as with any software as you continue to use it, you understand more, so there is that learning curve thats different from going with something familiar.
