Emma is a web-based email marketing platform that helps users design email campaigns and review their performance. The solution can be used on multiple devices, including smartphones and tablets, using native applications.
Emma helps marketing teams design email programs, segment audiences based on demographics, tenure or spending history and send automated emails. This system also helps users track performance metrics for individual emails or for the entire program and provide visual insights using dashboards and reports. Emma lets users deliver the follow-up email by analyzing if the recipient has opened an email or clicked the link sent to them.
Emma helps users understand which content performs well by analyzing emails with the best click-through rates. Other features include a drag-and-drop editor, customizable templates, open API and integration with other applications, such as Salesforce, SurveyMonkey, Shopify, Wistia and Front Desk.
Emma offers four differentially priced editions that are targeted to different user segments, including universities, agencies, franchises and nonprofit organizations.

I like the fact that once you create your groups of people, you can easily send emails to large groups of people that look professional. It also is a way for our organization to quickly alert our members of last minute notifications without having to hunt down emails of who you need to contact, you just select a group! It's also easy to see how many people opened it, if they clicked on it, if they opted out of receiving more, which helps us figure out how many people are actually using the information we're sending.
You have to 'add' a person, you cant just create a campaign and send it to a list of emails that aren't in the system.
Think of your whole experience with this product. Did you learn as you went, or just stuck with the basics without trying to learn more. Did it help you reach people, or hinder your communications? Think about the whole product, not just a single high or low.
Kerry from Apperson
The product is extremely user-friendly. Has a great list of feature set that meets today's need in the marketing world. And is a great price for the product.
There really is not anything I don't like. It is a great product all around as it allows you to do simple email marketing, but also allows you to track individual users and their history.
Make sure that you are looking for a marketing email platform (like Constant Contact) and not a marketing automation platform (like Pardot and Marketo). This is more like Constant Contact (so much better though) and not Marketo.
Lacy from Brotherhood Mutual
It's very intuitive. I like how you can drag and drop components and it's easy to type in straight text without coding. It's a great tool for many situations. It's easy to use templates saved in the system for regular emails such as newsletters as well.
Sometimes it's not as flexible as I would like. I can't move a certain component, though I can move others.
Christian from RDL Architects
They have a great email marketing platform that allows users to track their campaigns with great data metrics. Their templates are very user friendly for any experience level.
The thing I like least about this software platform is that they only offer a paid version option...

It allows people to design emails in an entirely wysiwyg interface, meaning you don't have to know any HTML.
Its strength is also its weakness. Emma completely changes and botches your HTML. You cannot enter your own media queries - it completely overrides them, and even in the support forums the requests for Emma not to touch pasted-in HTML have gone unanswered for years. It's like using FrontPage and watching your beautifully-crafted code become a mangled, garbled mess that's very difficult to fix. Even for those who don't code their own HTML, it's perplexing - there are often strange quirks like bold fonts that don't appear bold in inboxes and many other issues because the code Emma uses isn't actually friendly for many email rendering engines (ahem, Outlook). It's also somewhat unstable and clunky - we've found many times when it won't actually save, or it's just running very slowly.

New marketing/analytics features not scene on other platforms
I really like that there are many features that are not available on other email marketing platforms. If you do email marketing, you MUST try EMMA for their marketing/analytics features
Since they're still pretty new, they looked over some simple features that other platforms have. and that they didn't implement, but they are adding features often and customer support is very receptive.
Meredith from Optimum Solutions
I like the ease-of-use of the platform, and they put on an awesome conference! Good product for smaller marketing teams.
I only use the basic version, so I'd like more functionality, but again, that could just be my service level.
Liz from YMCA of the Triangle
We've been an Emma client for more than 8 years. We've always been fans.
Pros: Low learning curve, easy to use, friendly interface, not intimidating, pretty email designs, the UI is really nice, customer service is unbelievably good.
Cons: If you host and run multiple accounts, gathering roll up data can be time-consuming.

Tools don't always work well - or as expected. Auto save function is super annoying and 'undo' doesn't work very often either. Seems pretty limited for a tech-savvy super user as myself.
Easy to import users, export lists...
the WYSIWYG editor features...pretty limited in terms of buttons, colors, links, drives me crazy

Emma is a great email service and gets the job done. Overall it's simple and easy to navigate and use.

Emma makes email marketing easy for small businesses, non-web people, and those with low resource availability. It's intuitive and easy to use, no HTML knowledge required. There are hundreds of templates to pick from, or you can upload your own custom emails as well.
One of the major limitations I find in this software is in testing capabilities. A/B/C testing for subject lines is built in, and it will send to the winner after a few hours, but that's it. You can't A/B in email content without manually downloading, splitting your list, and re-uploading it as two different segments. You track the results on your own and send to the remainder of your list. It's time-consuming and cumbersome.
Emma does integrate with many major e-commerce providers. We've used the Shopify integration. That has also been a bit cumbersome. Though we get the emails of purchasers, there aren't very many trigger email options through Emma.
Overall, this is a great little program, especially if you are a small business or don't have an email team. It's not the Cadillac of ESPs, but it all you need is a reliable Honda, this would be a good fit.
Andrea from BrightSol Wellness
We reviewed a variety of software options but decided to go with Emma. It has everything we need to create and send out blogs, newsletters, and specials. The automation meant I got to spend more with clients rather than spending time manually sending it out. I recommend this product to everyone in small business.
Katie from OSU
I used EMMA to create invitations and enewsletters. The program was easy to use and I cannot say enough about the customer service--it was phenomenal. I could call anytime and talk to someone.

Easy to send and manage emails! Only complaint is customer service. It's always a hassle and support calls typically take FOREVER.
Logan from DesignWorks Group
We were first worried about have to pay per email sent but quickly learned that you get what you pay for!
Debbie from Long Hill Tree & Lawn Care Service
I use Emma quite often. Once I figured out how to use the software for the business needs, it was easy. I know there are lots of features that are available that I am not aware of. If I ever have questions, I call and get great customer service. Thank you.
Aaron from DesignWorks Group
Emma is a great tool that is easy to use for every person in your marketing team. It can be used for incredibly simple emails, or incredibly complex designs with automation. Also - no spam filter issues!
Amber from HIVE Digital Strategy
We use Emma as a whitelabeled product. We reviewed a lot of different options and ultimately Emma was the best option for us. I love that instead of having a contact limit per client, we just pay based on the overall contact number. That means we can have small clients and large clients and we aren't required to pay separately for them. In addition, the email builder is very simple and straightforward.
Amanda from Mercy Corps NW
The software itself is buggy. When copy and paste, adding header 1 then header 2 often the size doesn't change, or the line spacing is different.
Customer service is great.
Rachel from MissionPoint Health Partners
Emma is incredibly accessible for first-timers, both in the site interface and responsive email design. It also has many useful features that make mass email easier, and continues to roll out more. Their customer service is also very responsive, courteous and knowledgeable. The only downside is that the search function is not as robust as it could be, so it can be difficult to find groups and older campaigns if you're prolific.

Emma has been a great tool for us at ALGIX as our company has grown out of the startup phase. Emma is easy to use and makes it simple for us to create great emails. We look forward to continuing to grow with the help of Emma!

A couple years back I was a novice to the workings of Emma. Thrown into the abyss of mass emailing by a client who needed help, I was relieved and pleased with the ease of operation, direction, and support.
Ease of design and production of mailing. Response of Customer Support. Analytics
