Klaviyo is a cloud-based email marketing solution for e-commerce businesses of any size. Key features include integration with a variety of platforms, audience segmentation and performance reporting.

Klaviyo allows users to send out targeted email campaigns based on metrics such as purchasing and viewing history and how customers have interacted with past emails. The solution offers integration with tools such as e-commerce platforms, payment processors and marketing tools which allows users to centralize data from a variety of sources.

Using the reporting dashboard, users can measure performance based on metrics such as recently ordered items, refund requests, visitor activity and revenue generated by email marketing campaigns and advertising campaigns.

Klaviyo is available as a monthly subscription with pricing that varies based on the number of contacts. The solution is free for users with less than 250 contacts. Users have access to email support and a knowledge base of documents and guides.

It helps us build our customer list and then helps us communicate with our customers. We can segment our customers and deign appropriate communications for them.

Pros

We love the ease of use and comprehensive options for campaigns and work flows. It is easy to set up and then the analytics let us track the effectiveness of our campaigns and flows.

Cons

While the email support is good, it would be good to be able to speak to a support person when necessary.

More, free traffic coming from Email. Social Media is cool, we get it. They have live videos and stuff. But where will Instagram be in 2 years, what about Pinterest/Snapchat etc? You'll never know. Your Email list, however, is here to stay. Klaviyo will help you nurture it and make the most out of it.

Pros

I think their product recommendation of products is very good. We all know the value of retargeting and with Klaviyo you can show either your most popular products in your weekly or daily emails or you can even show personalised product recommendations. This will result in higher open rates and CTRs in the long run. Give it a try and see for yourself, it's a powerful tool.

I also love the email flows, once you set them up (I upgraded from the free Mailchimp version) you'll see a lot more (practically free) traffic coming from Email to your shop.

All in all a great service, you'll see an uplift very quickly. last but not least: I LOVE it that they're constantly improving it further (latest addition are customised coupons for every user)

Cons

the management of profiles and users can be a bit tricky although you'll quickly grasp what it is all about.

Cons

I would love Kalviyo even more if you could create email designs like on Canva. Integrating pictures a text and special effects to produce outstanding emails to my customers.

The breadth features and intuitive user interface put this miles above MailChimp and other email marketing softwares that I have used as a web designer and a marketing creative. What really makes it stand out

Cons

It's conditionals (the "if/then" type statements used to build filters for email targeting) have always been a little lacking for me; I can never get quite as specific or defined as I'd like. That being said, I certainly haven't seen anyone do it better for a remotely similar price.

This has really helped with conversions by tracking and focussing on customer behaviour.

Pros

Tracks customer behaviour in real time. Great for personalization with dynamic content tags.
Integration with Shopify is awesome!

Cons

It takes a while to get your head around some of the settings and setting it up. To make the most of it, some basic coding knowledge will help. Otherwise, I would recommend getting an expert to help with setup.

Well I am building my subscriber list which they say is super important for the growth of my company. I know that I will see the benefits and fruits of that they longer I do it. I am so new at it now. But I feel like I am pro by using this software which gives me confidence that I can do this!

Pros

There are so many things to like about Klaviyo! When first starting out I had no clue what I was doing. I really appreciated that they had all the basic emails already outlined for me. It made it so much easier for me. All I had to do was go in and change words and insert images if I wanted. I like the options that I can either use a template with HTML or just a simple text email and they have so many template options! I like that the whole process is guided and really easy to use. I don't ever have to worry if my emails are going to be sent or not. I love that they keep your customer in mind and they have a system in place to where they are not inundated with emails from you. They have a checklist to make sure that you got all the essentials in there before you send out an email and they will remind you if you didn't do something like use any links! I feel safeguarded from sending out a sub par email. I also love the analytics so I can see who has opened the email, clicked on links, made a purchase. And to top it all of they have amazing customer service. Have loved my experience with Klaviyo!

Cons

The only thing I can think of is the fine print at the bottom of emails with all the manage preferences, mailing address, unsubscribe copyright info etc I had to kind of put together myself. Which is not a big deal at all but it would be nice to have that as an included template. Also not sure how to manually send a campaign to someone new to my newsletter. Have to manually do that. It only sends the campaign to those currently on my newsletter but not future subscribers within a certain time frame.

I've been using Klaviyo for a couple of weeks now. We integrated our Prestashop store using custom integration. It's all well-documented so the integration module was ready in 2 or 3 days. We still need to overcome one minor issue but I hope it won't take long as the customer support is on it.

What I love most about Klaviyo is how deep we can go with triggering mails and flows. This is really powerful and it's really up to us how we make use of it.

The bottom line is that it really works. In the first 2 days after launching abandoned cart series we earned almost 1.2k in revenue from this campaign alone. The software literally pays for itself.

Also, integration with Optinmonster works like a charm and helps us with getting more e-mail leads.

Advice to Others

If you have ecommerce business, start using it ASAP. Otherwise you are leaving money on the table.

We found Klaviyo through working with Shopify. Previously used Mailchimp. While a lot of the email services provide similar capabilites, we found that Klaviyo was a more robust and powerful platform for tailoring the needs to our company. Endless and easy possibilities for finding the right audience or segment of our list market to with easy integration into Facebook marketing audiences make Klaviyo a winner! Only minor drawbacks would be that I prefer to be able to speak to someone on the phone for support, although the email responses have been fairly prompt. Also, the cost is a little high, but you get what you pay for.

Pros

Flexibility, developers keep adding new or updated capabilities, great metrics, scalable.

Cons

Higher cost than a lot of other services.

I've been using Klaviyo for a little while now, and it's pretty nice for emailing, especially if you have a decent sized list. It's simple to create templates, and they're almost constantly adding new features to improve the platform. Customer Service is great, too.
I wish the data reporting had an easier way to see custom info from the dashboard, but other than that it's great!

Pros

It's easy and simple to use, they have tons of resources and helpful tips to improve the efficacy of marketing efforts, and have stellar customer service. They are also constantly adding new features that are pretty sweet.

Cons

the reporting options could be a little more user friendly, like being able to set custom date ranges from the dashboard would be really nice to have.

Advice to Others

I've used certain ''other'' email platforms, and they make me angry after I've been spoiled by Klaviyo.

I'm really happy after making the switch to Klaviyo for my Shopify site and would definitely recommend for anyone in e-commerce.

My motto for the year was to simplify everything, and switching to Klaviyo helped me accomplish this and streamline (un-complicate) my email system. There are a couple others out there that have a few more features like CRM, tagging, click triggers within emails, etc, but that isn't always totally necessary.

The deep integration Klaviyo has with Shopify is what ultimately made me switch and I'm glad I did. Their help desk is usually quick to respond, and always very helpful too.

Pros

Simple, deep integration with Shopify, quick and helpful support team, their blog is great, and support docs are very good as well.

Cons

Could use a couple more advanced features like tagging, click triggers in-email that trigger tags/segments, more robust CRM.

Advice to Others

I would highly suggest it. Especially if you're in e-commerce, and even more if you use Shopify.

I've tried 3 other systems and despite it not having a couple really advanced features I've seen before I would still highly recommend it to anyone.

I have just recently migrated over to Klaviyo and to say I'm impressed would be an understatement, The out of the box functionality is great and the customer support is awesome (had a couple of teething problems - as you do) but the team at Klaviyo were easy to deal with and felt like they really want me to succeed.

no 24 hour support - I'm in a different time zone (& hemisphere) so sometimes having to wait for answers can get frustrating.

Recently upgraded a client from Mailchimp to Klaviyo. The amazingness starts from the transition process which Klaviyo nearly handled 100%. Their API pulled our entire MC account down and recreated it within their system. Boom! Fully set up and ready to start emailing. We seriously got out our first email within a few days where we expected a setup time of weeks.

The UI is clean and simple to use for us on a daily basis. We send 6 custom emails a week so you can imagine is it quite the work. Klaviyo has made us much more efficient in getting those emails out.

We are just getting into the flows and automation. So any options and ways to deploy!

A must have if you send email and do ecommerce online.

We have been using Klaviyo for about 9 months now and couldn't be happier with what it can offer us. The analytics are excellent and being able to track the revenue derived from different campaigns is a great tool to have on hand to ensure time and energy is not being wasted on areas that are not generating a great return. The usability is good and the overall suite of features is excellent. We are very happy with the product and will be remaining customers well into the future.

Pros

The stats and tracking of emails.

Cons

Being able to preview an email while still editing is frustrating to work out at times. A nice, big preview button would be perfect on the email creation/editing page.

Klaviyo pairs incredibly well with Shopify data. It is an incredible medium for building an audience and for following up with customers with valuable information such as installation guides.

We love to hear from our customers and queue up emails to check in and ask for real feedback months down the line. Klaviyo is a really useful tool for drafting emails for sorting through your customers and for getting content out quickly and smoothly.

The more you use it, the more you pay but the free version is great for getting started. I have referred this to friends who are starting email lists for their yoga practices and people who are new to blogging and emails.

It's very intuitive and easy to configure to your needs but it does take a while to really understand all of the functionality that is really availability.

I was new to Klaviyo and, based on a recommendation, decided to use it with a new Shopify store I was rolling out.

Wow, what an incredible piece of software! It integrates beautifully with Shopify, giving me all kinds of power to add customers to email flows or send them one-off emails based on a host of criteria. I can do everything you'd expect from a good email provider, plus things like send emails to everyone who browsed a certain page on the site or everyone who purchased a particular product or who had a certain order size or who hasn't purchased in a certain amount of time. The possibilities are endless.

It's very straightforward and incredibly easy to use. I give it a hearty recommendation for Shopify store owners!

Pros

Ease of use, flexibility and power

Cons

A couple of limitations with its functionality and Shopify integration, such as not being able to trigger an email flow when a customer's shipment gets marked out for delivery, or not being able to save pre-configured blocks of content to drag and drop into every email.

Advice to Others

If you own a Shopify store, I strongly recommend it!
