HouseCall Pro is a cloud-based field service management app for service professionals to automate their workflows. This solution includes a native mobile app and complementary Web portal and serves a wide range of industries, such as cleaning, plumbing, electrical and more.

HouseCall Pro allows companies to forego paperwork in favor of digital automation. It offers features such as job scheduling, dispatching, payment processing, estimates, automated receipts and invoices, customer notifications, company chat, as well as postcard and email marketing automation.

Customers can book services via the HouseCall mobile app, communicate through a centralized messaging system and make online payments.

The mobile app can be accessed on both Android and iOS devices. There is a free version for single owner/operators, which offers many of the core features of the paid version. Premium pricing is based on the number of users, and an enterprise license is also available.

This solution is available across the U.S. and Canada.

I feel before you can evaluate any product or service, the person involved in the evaluating should use it for at least six months before you review it. Otherwise, the evaluation could be skewed one way or the other due to a lack of situational data that will pop up on a daily basis.

the Mobil scheduling notification is a very good feature.

Likes Least

Can't arrange employees in the calendar view to stack the most commonly scheduled on top.
The need to constantly change screen views to view availability and change or schedule jobs.
No reports or view to see how may days or hours an employee is scheduled.
No reports to help see or control overtime.
Slow to update screens, spend a lot of time waiting on the software.

My favorite feature is the way that Housecall contacts customers when the technicians are on their way and the way it allows you to set up email campaigns to contact them afterword for reviews or follow up offers.

My least favorite feature is the calender. it is very buggy. If a call comes in and I take it while I am in the middle of updating the notes then I always lose the information. Also it does not matter where you are located in the calendar, if you open up a job and go back it always takes you back to the current date, even if you are months ahead or behind.

Someone is always available to help at all times. I am in the central time zone and house call pro is on the west coast most time they are still able to help.

There's a lot about the software that we really like. We appreciate how it has helped us to have everything in one place--customer database, scheduling, and employee database--instead of using our antiquated Excel spreadsheet system of the past. We like how it is simple to add new employees and customers and then to schedule them in the system, and we especially value the smartphone app that allows our employees to know exactly what their next jobs are, and even provides them with the customers' addresses and the ability to communicate with each other within the app.

What's difficult about this software is that it's new and somewhat limited in its features. It clearly wasn't designed with an inventory services company of our size in mind, which makes it challenging because it takes forever for the pages to load on our web browsers. One solution to this would be to have this software downloadable, where we could work on it offline and have it update in real-time as available. Another issue is that not enough of the software is customizable to our needs, and while some improvements have been made, we often feel that our issues do not get addressed as clearly or helpfully as we'd prefer.

Recommendations

Make sure you do a lot of research and look at all of your options before settling on one. We found many software programs that could have worked, but this was the one that was the most economical with the software that could best cater to our needs. Make sure you have a chance to view the software in action, and preferably have the ability to test it out for a month on a trial basis. That was one of our main reasons for choosing HouseCall Pro--we were able to see if it would actually work with our system.

the customer service in the sales cycle is excellent they are patient and good.

my main reason for field service software is tracking jobs and customers. this, it does very well. BUT I also need to send customers terms of service immediately upon booking. we typically book same day or next day. this is an important feature for us. this was not available in this software. nor , we're there plans to fix that

It makes your life easy. Automatic emails to customers make for great marketing and remarketing. The amount of useful features is staggering. I use them all and they are almost all self explanatory.

There are no drawbacks that I have seen. I do wish online booking was a feature in the package that I have, and I wish they offered an email type service where you can solicit people that are not your customer. HouseCall Pro is a fantastic schedule and sale tracking tool that makes it easy for a small company to be professional. They have paid special attention to improving customer communication. When the technician or sales person clocks into a job, the customer is notified with a text and/or email. Expectations are clear and no one wonders when they will be visited. The new online booking feature and automatic thank you and reminder postcards are simple to set up and a big help to and company.

They recently made an update that hid a common task from my view. I was confused and couldn't figure out how to convert an estimate to an invoice. Their chat support was quick and helped me find what I was looking for.

Recommendations

The little touches like the email and text when an appointment is set and then again when the technician is on route show your customers that you care about their time, even when you are late. It is a simple thing to drag an appointment to a later time and the customer is immediately notified.

Its implementation and use and the software in general is super easy. Customer service is great and not just in the beginning but the follow up has not let me down yet. Employees are responsive and it works great with your mobile phone. I really enjoy the program. The price is the best in the market which is why i choose it but you truly would not know.

It is a bit limited as far as an overall package, no inventory and some of the screens are redundant and restrictive causing you to bounce back and forth. The speed would improve with a desktop app like quick books but is decent for an online program. Over all i find it very accommodating.

We have implemented House call Pro as our go to system for dispatching the techs and not only do the techs like it the clients are thrilled with the fact that it is paperless and that every thing is immediate. In this busy world we live in it is nice to have a program that keep up and is constantly upgrading
