For the past 25 years, Intac International has been supplying field service, installation, and construction companies with the tools they need to manage their entire business with one simple to use program. Intac’s all-in-one solution, Wintac, includes full accounting and comes with a full year of live unlimited support.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments, so that dispatchers can easily monitor the schedule and re-assign calls if needed. Technicians in the field can access their schedule at any time through the Wintac web-portal. Wintac also allows businesses to easily track service contracts for each customer and equipment at every location. Know when service is due, contracts expire, as well as the entire service history on any piece of equipment with the click of a button.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals, and managing accounting. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs, and payroll. From there, Wintac has the capabilities to generate cost and profit analysis reports. Information can be shared on internet ready smart phones, tablets, and laptops, and the system supports e-signature capture in the field.

I DON'T LIKE HOW MULTIPLE USERS CAN NOT VIEW THE SAME CUSTOMER AT THE SAME TIME. I ALSO DON'T LIKE THAT YOU ARE NOT WARNED THAT THE CLIENT ACCOUNT IS OPEN. ONCE TWO PEOPLE OPEN THE SAME CUSTOMER, THE SYSTEM STARTS WITH ERROR MESSAGES. THEN HOUSEKEEPING NEEDS TO BE DONE. IT'S VERY ANNOYING

There is a lot to learn and the voice tutorial is very helpful. At first I was overwhelmed starting a new program and this has been fairly easy to maneuver.

Nothing as of yet. Customer service is very helpful and with the voice tutorial it's easy to go through.

Recommendations

I recommend using all the features it has, or at least look through it. Our last scheduler didn't use it the way it was designed and that is why it made it frustrating for me.

Free demo is great and makes it look like a great product

It was a big investment and it is very difficult. The customer service is there for you but It seems there not familiar with software. Sales department was great and always responded but passed you on to customer service. I have 2 girls in my office one is great with quickbooks after a long few WEEKS of fooling with software they wont even look at it anymore.

Don't buy it like I did use it on a monthly basis so your not out of a lot of money and stuck with something you don't use.

As with any piece of software, there are going to be occasional problems. Wintac software from Intac International is constantly evolving. The customer care reps actually take feedback from customers like me who have encountered issues they hadn't planned for or offer suggestions to make the product more user friendly and beneficial and get it into the hands of the engineers who implement the suggestions. Yes, you read that correctly. They implement our suggestions. How many major software companies can you say that about?

Sometimes there is a lengthy wait when contacting customer support. This is to be expected, however, and Intac International offers a no cost online chat service to their customers that I actually prefer. It is easily accessible through the Help section in Wintac. The chat feature alerts you when a rep has entered and alerts you when they have responded to you. This allows me to continue to do other things like make phone calls, talk to my techs, add information to customer files, etc.

Recommendations

Try it. Don't be afraid of it. There are so many things Wintac can do that we do not take advantage of, but they are there. We use the portal for our techs and love it. It gives us real time updates for scheduling, part ordering, and our own customer care. We can contact customers who are not home right away and let them know what is going on. We can email receipts, copies of invoices, and work up proposals in the customers home. It makes keeping track of things so much easier. Our techs can check work history onsite. We can add our own specific system check sheets plus pictures to any customer file meaning our techs know what was done 2 years ago without having to make one single phone call to the office or another tech.

The customer care was great. The product - I liked that there were many things you could do with it once you understood how to use it. I constantly learned new ways in which it worked and would get us what we wanted. The scheduling and time recording was also great for a new construction business.

This product is not user friendly - found it to be a challenge esp. with the group I work with who prefer paper and pen.

Recommendations

This product only works if you are ready to buy in completely and even then it can be hard to use. Someone I spoke too at a different company said it best -- "it's okay at a lot of things but not great at anything."

The all inclusive accounting/billing/payroll features are nice, when they work.

The program is highly unreliable, network issues create deleted files/info/jobs, accounting is off unless you refresh constantly, which requires going out of the program. Job sites are duplicated, or deleted. The web portal for the technicians in the field is highly complicated for a seasoned user, let alone 'old school' learners. The app for out of service areas is absolutely useless, portrays all jobs out of order, does not stay logged in, and therefore, when out of service range, cannot be logged into. This problem was supposed to be fixed in December 2015, it is now almost May 2016. All information is spread across several different links in the portal, therefore processing one job amounts to lots of wasted time. Invoice styles are extremely limited, especially in the field, which results in all the customers notes and job description having to be printed, which looks extremely unprofessional. Customer Service is not open on weekends, which is pathetic considering most field service companies work weekends, and have no access to help when needed, which is on a daily basis due to the malfunction of the program. Highly expensive for the headache that comes along with the purchase. Worst investment ever!

Look elsewhere and do not buy this program. They will sell you something that looks nice, but in fact, is horrible.

Field capability is poor. Very little information can be input from the field users. You need to use Word or Excell and then attach them to the field work order for anything other than simple T&M tickets. We where told today that they are working on it, but that is not what we bought into. We will probably cut our loses and move on to another product soon. Also, we are at update 19 since the first of the year and i am sure there will be more to come. Don't listen to the sales group, they will tell you what you want to hear to get the order, make it sound so simple to make changes, but that is not the case.

The pricing model is the best that I could find for a product like Wintac. Wintac fits our businesses needs, and their customer support is great!

Wintac was obviously not made specifically for our business so not everything was easy to transfer over. The transition took quite a long time for us. We've been using QuickBooks for years now and getting that to work in sync with Wintac was a challenge and I wish Wintac had more information about how a business can use Wintac alongside of an accounting software like QuickBooks.

Recommendations

Figure out exactly what you want your software to be able to do and find the software that best suits your specific needs. There is a lot out there and a lot of great programs, but it's not about picking the very best one, it's about picking the very best one for your business. Do you research and ask a ton of questions before you commit.

Nothing at all! There is no good that can come out of this software if you switch to it

The software is not easy to use and does not allow for you to do more than one thing at a time. For example if you are in the middle of invoicing a customer and one of your technicians needs information from the dispatch board you have to close everything you are in the middle of to go to the dispatch board. This software is the worst thing for a A/C company in south florida! The training is poor at best every single person you talk to has a different answer and none of those answers match the directions in the help section.

RUN AWAY as fast as you can! This is worse than the plague!

I like the idea that the tech in the field can update the office live.

I dislike that the Web Portal gives numerous server errors during an update to the office. The new App doesn't give you a telephone number to call your customers. It's very incomplete and not tested. The support says the app isn't supposed to be used like that?

Find a software will allow you to test the product first before jumping in feet first.

I love the fact that it is an all in one system and takes us from scheduling to ordering products to invoicing and the accounting. I am looking forward to getting connected with all my mobile devices with direct payment by Xcharge and the fleet linked with GPS system I believe this will create more savings on top of what the system is already saving the company dollar-wise. I have 18 staff members, and although this is a big change from the paper and pen of the old days, we are slowly advancing into the computer age, and Wintac has been a great help all the way around to help make this happen.

There is no drop-down search when entering customer names or products. You always have to hit the search field. Also, in "inventory browse," you have to be very precise when entering products, and if you don't know the product, it is very difficult to find the item.

The product is easy to use and learn, even for those that are not computer savvy. The vendor continually works to improve the product and is responsive to customer requests and needs.

There are many different programs at many different price ranges. Make sure the product you choose meets all of your needs, or has the ability to customize to meet your needs. This is what we have found with Wintac.

Wintac hasn't failed us yet. At first we were worried that they were falling behind because of the mobile apps, but Wintac listened to us and released a mobile app. It still has some bugs, but I can't complain!

I would like more customization like they have on user defined fields. I would also like the help menu to be a bit more descriptive (maybe have a how to video or screen shots as to where to click). Sometimes the text is not detailed enough and I still cannot find where to click.
