For the past 25 years, Intac International has been supplying field service, installation, and construction companies with the tools they need to manage their entire business with one simple to use program. Intac’s all-in-one solution, Wintac, includes full accounting and comes with a full year of live unlimited support.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments, so that dispatchers can easily monitor the schedule and re-assign calls if needed. Technicians in the field can access their schedule at any time through the Wintac web-portal. Wintac also allows businesses to easily track service contracts for each customer and equipment at every location. Know when service is due, contracts expire, as well as the entire service history on any piece of equipment with the click of a button.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals, and managing accounting. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs, and payroll. From there, Wintac has the capabilities to generate cost and profit analysis reports. Information can be shared on internet ready smart phones, tablets, and laptops, and the system supports e-signature capture in the field.

Extremely satisfied

Ease-of-use

It's easier to use than QuickBooks or Peachtree. The spreadsheets are easy to read.

Functionality

With two or five trucks, this software will help keep track of inventory and schedule job appointments.

Product Quality

The quality is great, and the customer support is there when you need it.

Customer Support

In the past, they were able to input an outdated database into the new database. And I think that they have fixed all of the bugs in a timely manner.

Wow. Wow.

Ease-of-use

It has a complicated interface. Even after the tutorials, you will still be very lost.

Functionality

It only stayed on for a few minutes at a time. The interface is complicated.

Product Quality

It has a lot of unnecessary features to make it look like more than what it really is.

Customer Support

They only available Monday through Friday, 9-5. If you have a problem after 5 PM, you're out of luck.

It came on for two minutes. Not even sure that's a good thing.

The software is completely broken. Once it finally downloaded, my security program informed me that it was a virus trying to hack into my computer. Thankfully, I caught it in time. Next, when I could finally pull up the software after several failed attempts, I was hit by its hideous and confusing interface. No function in this program is simple. No wonder they want so much for the training. They say it's optional, but it becomes apparent quickly that it's going to be a necessity if you want to use the program productively.

Recommendations

This is run off of a Microsoft Access database. You will be better off using that than this.

Instructions are easy to understand, and customer service is very helpful.

Functionality

We have to break down checks for multiple accounts with the same customer but with different customer numbers.

Product Quality

This is the only software I have ever used, but it is easy.

Customer Support

Customer support is always thorough and makes sure what ever the issue is, it is corrected, or you understand how to use it.

It is very easy to use. Instructions are very self-explanatory.

My biggest drawback is if a customer has more than one account, you have to break the check amount down.

Great product for small business

The software is very easy to use, and almost anyone can understand it.

The product is very simple for data entry, but it can be difficult to extract the data in a usable format.

I can't always get a hold of customer support. But they are proactive when I do.

It takes some time to get used to; however, it works well within our needs.

It goes beyond our needs. There are many parts to this program we do not use.

It works well. We are running an older version, so I look forward to the upgrade and web portal I am ordering.

I have not used support for many years. They will not talk to you if you do not upgrade the software.

Recommendations

There is a lot to this software and annual upgrades. We have been running 2006 for many years, but now with computer/Windows upgrades, we had to upgrade Wintac to be compatible.

I picked it up pretty quickly. It works like most Windows-based programs.

It works great for daily dispatching. Client history will print out on your work orders.

Everyone we have hired to work in the office picked up the software really quickly.

Functionality

We are a plumbing service company, and the dispatch board is great. We are looking into the accounting section again. Our accountants felt it was a little too weak for what we were doing.

Product Quality

We like everything about it. It's really nice that it is growing every year, and they add new features we can use and relate to.

Customer Support

They have never let us down, and contact is made very quickly. Most of the time, we can use the online chat.

Likes Best

The price and tech support are a couple of the best features. With the office staff, the ease of use and ability to learn the software very quickly were important features. We have been customers for over 15 years and plan to stay customers for many more.

Our accountant had us switch to QuickBooks to get the best accounting aspects by integrating the two programs. We don't like having to import the data. We are going to review it again this year to see if we can switch back.

Recommendations

Try it; it's very user-friendly. We use this program for the billing and dispatch features more than anything. Employee setup and customer setup are easy. About 12 years ago, we tried one of the really expensive programs and found we were spending more time learning it, and the customer support was ridiculous to keep up-to-date cost-wise. We threw it in the trash and returned to Wintac.

Excellent software solution for service contractors

Ease-of-use

Every part of Wintac is easy to set up and use except the accounting side. I use another program for this.

Functionality

If the accounting section was easier to implement, this software would be the complete all-in-one solution. We are very happy with what we get out of it, though.

Product Quality

Excellent quality. It has never failed us, and the software is always evolving through annual updates.

Customer Support

The only downfall is that to speak to customer support, I have to call at midnight, being in Sydney, Australia. But we are glad the support is always available, and they have been very helpful when contacted.

Likes Best

It's easy to use and set up the invoicing, inventory, and dispatching. Customer support is excellent.

The accounting side of the program is difficult to understand and integrate with my needs for Australian conditions. Also, some fields or titles cannot be changed (e.g., if "labor" could be changed to "labour", I could itemise labour charges).

Take the time to set up the software correctly. No software out there will satisfy everyone's needs completely.

Ease-of-use

Once you learn it, it is very easy to use. Setting it up correctly is very important.

Functionality

For the client that I do bookkeeping for, they find it very functional for dispatching. The accounting side was more of a learning process.

Product Quality

Bank reconciling should be a separate feature rather than clearing through the transaction list. I have never seen an accounting system that can go out of balance in the TB and Balance sheet. It would be good to have Canadian version of this for accounting. It would be nice to be able to drill down to transactions when looking at the Trial Balance. It would also be good to view in Debits and credits and a better setup for HST reporting.

Customer Support

Client support is good as long as you know what you are asking about. It is important to talk to an accounting specialist for that part of the program. It is easy to access support online or by phone. Staff do their best to give support.

Likes Best

It works very well for dispatching when workers are on the road and client locations. Once the program is set up properly, it functions pretty well.

Likes Least

The accounting software is not that good. You can note post journal entries using the bank account. It needs better linking between credit cards and bank.

Recommendations

Make sure you get proper training for using the accounting part of the software. Ours was a learning experience, but we have mostly worked out the bugs. I know my client is happy for the most part with the software.

Good Account Management and Operations Software
