For the past 25 years, Intac International has been supplying field service, installation, and construction companies with the tools they need to manage their entire business with one simple to use program. Intac’s all-in-one solution, Wintac, includes full accounting and comes with a full year of live unlimited support.

At the core of Wintac is its scheduling, dispatching and work order management module. The color-coded dispatch board allows users to drag and drop appointments, so that dispatchers can easily monitor the schedule and re-assign calls if needed. Technicians in the field can access their schedule at any time through the Wintac web-portal. Wintac also allows businesses to easily track service contracts for each customer and equipment at every location. Know when service is due, contracts expire, as well as the entire service history on any piece of equipment with the click of a button.

Wintac also offers functionality for tracking current and potential customers, creating estimates and proposals, and managing accounting. Job costs can be broken out by inventory items, POs, and payroll. From there, Wintac has the capabilities to generate cost and profit analysis reports. Love Wintac! We have especially enjoyed having the Web Portal!

Ease-of-use

There are too many steps on some things. We seem to have job sites and customers in the list several times, because if you don't enter information exactly as it was first entered, you don't find that job site or customer.

Functionality

The Web Portal is terrific! It is so nice being able to click on the display portal and allow the techs to see as many jobs at a time as you want.

Product Quality

I'm sure the more I learn, the more quality I will see in this product. I personally would like to know exactly what all I don't know about Wintac and all it can do for me.

Customer Support

I usually prefer to speak to a Senior Tech to make sure I'm getting the correct information the first time and also because I don't have to wait for a newer tech to put me on hold to get help him-/herself.

Very Pleased with Wintac

Ease-of-use

It is in general a good program. It is not very friendly on the accounting side, and it is hard to search job sites when you are looking for specifics. We don't know the system very well yet, but at the same time, it is still in the works.

Functionality

I feel it is a good fit for what we are doing, but it needs to be a stronger match. There are issues that I need to address, but it is a time thing as well. I can't understand the purchase ordering part and receiving of products, as well as partial receiving of purchase orders.

Product Quality

Overall, the quality is great. I wish I had set it up for cloud operation instead of the mobile site confusion, but we will get there.

Customer Support

Always excellent customer service. I don't believe I have ever called or went to the on-line chat and been disappointed.

I love the fact that it is an all in one system and takes us from scheduling to ordering products to invoicing and the accounting. I am looking forward to getting connected with all my mobile devices with direct payment by Xcharge and the fleet linked with GPS system I believe this will create more savings on top of what the system is already saving the company dollar-wise. I have 18 staff members, and although this is a big change from the paper and pen of the old days, we are slowly advancing into the computer age, and Wintac has been a great help all the way around to help make this happen.

There is no drop-down search when entering customer names or products. You always have to hit the search field. Also, in "inventory browse," you have to be very precise when entering products, and if you don't know the product, it is very difficult to find the item.

My recommendation is to try it with sincerity, and I am sure you will find it very comforting to know that everything is in one system.

Wintac works for us.

Ease-of-use

The basic database function is user-friendly and fairly self-explanatory, but some of the report features and other uses require more knowledge to use properly.

It meets all of our needs for Heating and Air Conditioning database software.

Product Quality

It's an excellent piece of software and we have used it for over ten years.

Customer Support

The best customer support is not needing customer support. We have never encountered any major issues, but our dealings with them have been prompt and helpful.

The database is saved into one file using Microsoft Access as its backbone. If that file gets corrupted, so does your database

We've been using Wintac for 8 years and have been very happy.

It's very easy to use, even for less computer savvy people.

Ease-of-use

It's pretty easy. It's not 100% but its not too bad. I don't use Wintac completely

It meets our needs as to what we are looking for in a product like Wintac. We have rarely run into an issue as to Wintac not meeting our needs.

The product quality is great. I hardly ever get any random closing or errors .

Wintac hasn't failed us yet. At first we were worried that they were falling behind because of the mobile apps, but Wintac listened to us and released a mobile app. It still has some bugs, but I can't complain!

I would like more customization like they have on user defined fields. I would also like the help menu to be a bit more descriptive (maybe have a how to video or screen shots as to where to click). Sometimes the text is not detailed enough and I still cannot find where to click.

Works Well

Ease-of-use

The support has been great, but it was difficult to get up and running with a system that worked for the way we work. The web portal is great for the techs in the field. They don't need to learn the whole program.

Functionality

There seems to be a lot of screen switching to add equipment and for scheduling. I like the ability to run various reports.

Product Quality

It does just what I need it to do and even more! One day I might grow into the rest of the program.

Customer Support

Telephone technical support has been great. I only wish they had longer hours.

I definitely need to have technical support. Wintac has been great on the telephone, whether for ordering, customer service, or technical support.

Chat support has not worked well for us, but getting a person on the phone seems to work much better.

This software pretty much does it all. I continue to use QuickBooks for the accounting side of things, because it is easier to send to my accountant. Up through version 2013, I haven't been able to have different levels of access for different employees.

Wintac Review

Ease-of-use

The design of the job status and the calendar aren't exactly what we wanted, so we kind of work around it. I feel like they could have made it easier to flip from scheduling to the customer's profile.

Functionality

We aren't able to integrate all that I thought we were going to be able to integrate. It is easier for us to see and schedule still using google calendar than Wintac.

Product Quality

It doesn't integrate as well as we thought that it would initially.

Customer Support

The have the best customer support I've ever experienced. They are very knowledgeable.

Likes Best

Their tech support is very good. They are all very calm, knowledgeable and very helpful. They've helped me fix every problem we encountered.

It did not match up as well as anticipated with our needs. We wanted to be able to integrate QuickBooks better, and it will require too much data entry and time to make that a reality. That wasn't made clear to us.

Recommendations

Make sure that you know your limitations as far as QuickBooks goes, check out tax fields, and have a good understanding of how your data will be displayed. It's really a pain for us that the billing address and job site address are not on the same screen, etc.

Long Timer User of Wintac Software

Ease-of-use

It's easy to train new employees, and it is easily learned.

Functionality

We will not put our accounting on this software because of the problem of being able to delete anything with no trail.

Product Quality

We have had Wintac for a long time, and even though we have not upgraded in a few years, it has still worked for our needs. We are looking forward to being able to use the new changes in the program.

Customer Support

We have not purchased the upgrade in a couple of years so have not used the customer support, but I can say that the sales department has been very helpful in getting us the information we needed to finally get the upgrade we have needed.

We like the fact that Wintac is specific to HVAC contractors. It makes invoicing and maintenance agreement processing easy.

I don't know if this changes in the current update, but we do not like the fact that you can delete WIP's from the program and nobody would ever know it was missing. You should always be able to see what was deleted, when, and why.

If you are an HVAC contractor, we can recommend this software for your company. Its ease of use and specific programming for our trade is a bonus.

Long term Wintac user

Ease-of-use

It takes time to learn; some people find it challenging.

Functionality

It generally meets most of our needs. Since it is not specific to our industry as fencing and gate contractors, we are still able to adapt it.

Product Quality

It's good quality, but there's always room for improvement. It seems to be a product that will continue to evolve.

Customer Support

It's good when have had to use it. Extended hours for us West Coasters would be helpful.

We have have used Wintac since about 2005. We are contractors in the Fence and Gate industry. That said, we are a customer service business. Wintac has allowed us to schedule and organize everything from estimates to proposals, work orders, and invoicing. This has helped keep us more organized and have a system that everybody in the office uses. The vendor is generally helpful and knowledgeable.

While the vendor has yearly updates, some of the updates across the different aspects of the software are repetitive, even though they are listed separately, which is a marketing thing. In some cases, it has taken several upgrades to resolve glitches that could have been done in a more timely manner. This may not be unusual for software products overall.

Recommendations

When considering this type of software, be sure to see if it meets all of your needs for the price. Some software of this type requires the purchase of separate modules to get all you need. Wintac is different in that respect.

They only available Monday through Friday, 9-5. If you have a problem after 5 PM, you're out of luck.

The software is completely broken. Once it finally downloaded, my security program informed me that it was a virus trying to hack into my computer. Thankfully, I caught it in time. Next, when I could finally pull up the software after several failed attempts, I was hit by its hideous and confusing interface. No function in this program is simple. No wonder they want so much for the training. They say it's optional, but it becomes apparent quickly that it's going to be a necessity if you want to use the program productively.

Recommendations

This is run off of a Microsoft Access database. You will be better off using that than this.
