Alora streamlines plan of care, generating 485s and 487s and tracking those 485s that are due for re-certification. The scheduling feature is friendly and nimble, allowing users to schedule and track visits. There's a recurrence option to create multiple visits from one entry and completed visits automatically flow into billing and payroll. There are also optional OASIS, point of care clinical documents and paperless records features, offering a complete software solution for growing home health agencies.

The Alora billing module easily generates claims, both the electronic claim files and the UB-04 and CMS-1500 paper claim forms. It can also generate Private Pay invoices and posts charges to A/R during this claim generation. It comes with a full list of ICD9 codes with new codes added through regular software updates.

Alora delivers what we need.

Ease-of-use

Before I signed up with Alora, I tried several software systems, and only Alora met the needs of our HHA. In fact, I can train our nurses, patients, and office staff easily, whether or not they have technical know-how with the computer. This is the only software that doesn't require me to spend thousands of dollars to hire a trainer.

Functionality

Alora is different from the rest of the software that is in the market, and it delivers what we need. The management staff always listen to the customer; if we need some functions updated, they will act on it super fast.

Product Quality

Alora's product quality is better compared to other systems. I evaluated several software systems before I settled with Alora.

Customer Support

The customer support is live people and very knowledgeable. They go beyond more than a mile to help us.

This product's ease of use is validated by the rapidity of how quickly an employee can learn the documentation piece of Alora. The screens flow nicely. The headings are easy to understand; thus, case managing time is decreased because of this efficiency.

Functionality

The product's functionality meets my needs. I appreciate having the Quality Assurance piece, which is a large part of reimbursement.

This product's quality is superb! I would recommend it to any agency who thrives on efficiency in each area of their daily, monthly, and annual operations. I have spent a minimal amount of time training my new employees on the system, and this allows me the time to focus on my own to-do list!

Customer Support

From the first day I called customer support at Alora, I have been impressed. I have my favorite support representative, but each person I have spoken with has made me feel calm and secure that my immediate issue was not an emergency at all, but rather a simple solution that the rep could help me with right then. Also, the followthrough is impeccable. The issue is always resolved without a lot of effort on my side, and Alora verifies that I am satisfied with the resolution before hanging up the phone.

The things I like best about this product and vendor are the ease of maneuvering through the software from its fully encompassing spectrum of scheduling, billing, and documentation options, as well as the many different functionalities within each system.

What I like least about this product and vendor is the schedule. For our agency, which has frequent scheduling changes, we need features that notify employees of schedule changes and the options to send them secure messages from the office.

The recommendations that I have for others evaluating software like this is to have an itemized list of your agency's most needed product capabilities. Have the must haves, and then have the wants. For an agency to run proficiently and efficiently, the correct software is paramount!

Thus far, my experience with Alora has been overall very good.

Ease-of-use

It is set up in a way that is easy to use. So far, it seems to be self-explanatory. If I don't understand how to do something, I can shoot our rep an email, and she will respond very promptly.

So far, it's meeting our needs. There are several modules we haven't utilized yet, so it's hard to say.

Good! Besides the crashes, I think the quality is very good. As I said, there are several modules I haven't used yet, so my answers are based on what we have utilized.

Customer Support

Their customer support is top-notch and one of the biggest reasons I would recommend Alora to others! I appreciate very much how our rep doesn't make me feel dumb and takes the time necessary to explain how to do something until I understand. She is very prompt with getting back to me and makes me feel like my issues are important, because they are to me! She follows up with me and is enthusiastic about our success. I can tell by the way she interacts with me that she is passionate about her work. There is one thing no company can teach any employee, and that is passion.

I am a fairly new user with lots of learning ahead of me. At this point of use with our new company, the software has been user-friendly and seems to be very comprehensive in the home care field.

The best thing thus far has been the help/support I have received. They have been extremely helpful with resolving some issues and training, as well as with answering questions in a friendly and prompt manner. They have not only helped resolved what I felt like were some big issues but have also taken the time on several occasions to teach me. Our rep is very patient and personable.

When it comes down to it, in my opinion, all the home care software out there is similar, for the most part, with varying degrees of bells and whistles, as well as price. Besides price, the thing that sets software vendors apart is the support staff who work with the agencies using the software. Alora has a really good team, and I think that will build on their reputation in a very positive way.

I also like how Alora will listen to users that have suggestions to make something easier or better with the software and then sometimes make changes/updates to accommodate. It gives the users a sense of teamwork - that Alora is always trying to make the software better for its users, not just customers with no voice. I like how Alora is constantly updating and sending the updates to the users.

I also like the ability to open so many windows from a single window that I'm in to check information, etc. This is very helpful and useful. I really like the scrubbing tool! I think the price is reasonable. I am hoping it stays that way. The more I use the software and learn its capabilities, the more I like it.

The biggest issue up to this point is that the system seems to crash a lot when I have entered and completed a 485 then go to print. I have lost all data more than once when this happened which was frustrating. I have now learned to hit the save button before I try to print. It still crashes at times, but when I reopen the software, the 485 is there.

Recommendations

I think one of the most important things people can look at when deciding on a software, especially if they are a new agency, is the support and help you get from the software vendors and at what cost they charge to help you out. Price is also a factor, especially for a new start up agency.

It's very easy to follow, with minimum instructions. Customer service is very knowledgeable, as most have worked for a Home Health Care Agency, etc. before. I think that I can figure things out by myself, instead of having to call. I know that when I call, though, I will get the answer right away.

Functionality

We haven't actually billed using this system yet, so time will tell. I would have a few suggestions, like just having to enter a zip code to populate the city and state or possibly a few more options with headers when printing calendars. But, so far, so good!

Product Quality

It seems to be designed with the user in mind. There are a few tweaks I'd like to suggest, but it's light years ahead of the system we were using. We're very happy so far!

Customer Support

I've received calls and/or emails back within an hour! And that was only when I wanted to speak to a specific person. Excellent support! Customer support was the reason we chose Alora to begin with, and we have not been disappointed.

It's an extremely easy-to-use system with excellent customer service. The system follows Oasis forms and is very easy to understand. It will save us money, as we will no longer have to order costly forms for a variety of things. It will also save us time with regard to scheduling our employees.

Other than a few tweaks here and there, I would say there's nothing I don't like. It's easy to follow. We're still learning all that it can do, but the transition so far has been painless!

Recommendations

Be sure to have demos from a few different software providers, and then settle with the one that meets your agency's needs. Every agency is different. After you narrow them down to two possibilities, schedule another demo. Ask a lot of questions. Software vendors are very competitive, and if pricing is holding you back, you may be able to negotiate.

Every time our agency calls in with a question or concern, we get top-quality, professional service! The staff is so friendly and will go above and beyond to help in any way they can. If we have a concern with something not being in the system or have a suggestion with needing to add a service, Alora's staff is always open to suggestions and eager to help in any way they can.

The only problem I have found is difficulty reaching a staff member at times. Our agency commonly has to leave a message and await a return call.

Recommendations

Look for a software company that has professional customer service and that are willing to work with you on a one-on-one basis.

Navigating Alora software is really user-friendly, and our nurses are able to access patient information from the admission screen which facilitates the documentation. Also, Alora continues to improve the software to make it a breeze to navigate. There is an easiness and friendliness about Alora software that I recommend to all my peers.

All the information that is required by Federal and State regulations is within Alora documentation, which keep us in compliance with all the rules. As nurses, we particularly enjoy the analyze tool Alora has for the OASIS.

All settings are self explanatory and user friendly. If you cannot find what you want to do, customer service can help you or put in a request of what you want.

When we scan in notes, we cannot separate them. Once 20 pieces of paper are scanned in, they have to go to one chart.

There are many requirements for home health that this system does not meet in an auditor's world, but overall it's easy to use.

We are a home health care agency that was operating manually. We had no systems for scheduling, payroll, billing, reports, etc. We have been working with Alora for a little over a year. Training was delivered to meet our needs. With the implementation of each module, we were able to pace ourselves and receive training when we were ready to utilize Alora's features.

I have always been pleased with their customer service. But, over the past few months especially, I have received nothing but kindness, patience, and very knowledgeable advice and assistance from the representatives at Alora. They went the extra mile to conference in with a clearing house with whom we unfortunately were having conflicting software issues; they spoke to me nearly every day working through denials, as well as many emails.

I come into contact with a diverse group of people. My job requires me to do lots of business via phone. I have come into contact with rude, demeaning, and just darn nasty people. When trying to explain what the nature of your call is about, some people just don't listen. At Alora, the reps have always listened to us and will paraphrase to make sure they fully understand your needs. They are very patient and never rush, or speak over you. I just love Alora and look forward to working many years with them.

I have used Alora over the last 10 months. I have 10 years experience in homecare, and this is first time I have used Alora. I find the Alora staff great to deal with and very supportive. The program is one of the easiest I have worked with, right through billing and reporting.

I am going to another agency as of next week and will be trying to get them to covert to Alora in order to help ease their current computer problems and before every nurse is brought on to computers in 2014.

My company provides Passport and private duty non-medical assistance for seniors. We currently have approximately 300 clients, and are very close to undergoing survey to launch the Medicare/Medicaid skilled "sister" company.

We purchased and started using the Alora system a couple of years ago after doing all scheduling manually and I and my office staff love it. I also love that the system was able to be configured for us in anticipation of the skilled company. We already have the licensing for it and clients cross populate to each company, reducing duplication. They have the most awesome customer service rep. If I had known how much guidance she could have provided navigating this accreditation process, I would have contacted her long ago. We love our customer service representative!!! She is the best thing since sliced bread!!! The only issue we have with Alora is not having enough spaces for nurses. One logs in and it will knock someone else out. I think that is more our issues than Alora's though.

Overall the customer support is great! We always have the nurses call to get the software downloaded to their laptops, and they all comment how nice and helpful the staff is.
