The number one plus to recommendation of Wizard is the outstanding support. You can call and always get an immediate answer. The support people go beyond support to train and teach on any issue they are knowledgeable about. Their patience amazes me!

I don't like the fact that it is not internet based. I can't say anything bad about the vendor, they are very supportive and always willing to work with me.

Recommendations

We tried to switch twice and both times were a disaster and we went back to Wizard. I would highly take into consideration that the software your looking at covers the needs of your agency. Wizard was the only software that could cover all the pay sources we accept. They went to great lengths in the beginning to get us up and going so we could bill the State.

The software is very easy to navigate within. The reports are easy to find! Very easy software to learn!

unable to export info into Excel, which cause more manual data entry.

Recommendations

With any software, you need to give yourself time to learn how to use it.

The best thing about the Visit Wizard is the Customer Service! August Systems has been great to work with and has provided us with exceptional customer service!! There are always going to be issues that arise when working with a computer system. However, when I call August Systems I know that I am going to talk to a person who can help me fix the problem. That is worth everything!! The next best thing is that the System is very user friendly and easy to learn.

I do feel that communication could be better with industry changes and how that relates to the EHR. I want to know that August Systems is planning for those changes and has a plan for how we are going to be compliant with regulatory reporting requirements.

Recommendations

I learned so much about our Agency and the home health/hospice industry when we transitioned from paper charting to The Visit Wizard. As an Agency, we basically built the system the way we wanted it, from clinical charting templates to charge masters to billing codes, etc. It was very time consuming in the beginning and I remember being frustrated because I was having to create everything in the system from scratch. Now, I am thankful for that! We've been able to build the system the way we want it. And I know the system well enough to make changes myself to templates when we find something needs to be adjusted.

I keep a leg up on my competition using the Visit Wizard. My overhead is kept low and my caregivers appreciate we aren't top heavy. VW is like having another staff member in my office. The vendor is professional and punctual to all of my questions. The system is very easy to use and training schedulers isn't a long and drawn out process.

They run under the radar against giant software companies so the initial recognition isn't always present.

Recommendations

Don't pick a software because it pops up on the top page. Take the time to check out your choices and determine what software fits your current needs and also has the capability to grow with you.
