RUN, powered by ADP, is a web-based payroll solution designed for small businesses. The solution can be deployed on either iPhones, iPads or on any touchscreen device. RUN can integrate with multiple third-party accounting software and human resource management services from ADP.

RUN provides cash flow management by allowing users to track and verify cash requirements before processing the actual payouts. With built-in reporting and analytics capabilities, users can monitor and view complete analysis of their monthly payroll activities. The solution also has a dedicated HR portal to keep all critical information at one place with an online storage for saving employee documents. HR411, the online resource from ADP, provides day-to-day best practices for businesses.

RUN also comes with the support of ADP’s payroll tax compliance team with notifications for tax deadlines, changes and new requirements. The team helps to make filings and tax deposits as per the latest regulations of federal, state and local tax authorities.

The functionality of the website is great--super easy, user-friendly, attractive platform. While the rate to use isn't bad, they do randomly just increase the charges.

Cons

Easy to use and cheap. Great for a basic hris and running various reports. It was a service we needed just for payroll so it did the job but it did not offer anything else. Also the payroll processing function is super easy to navigate.

Cons

They do not provide any training on using the software which I think does them a disservice because people will not use it. I don't know if this is a ploy to get people to upgrade to their more robust platforms but quality customer service should be a given across the board of all their offerings.

They have improved on their reports feature. Now I can customize more so reports with more specific filters. I also really like that I can download payroll into QuickBooks into a general ledger, it is super easy and time saving!

Cons

I process payroll for several companies, and it would be more helpful if I could use one login for all companies.

I have to say I loved the product but I was never crazy about the customer service. They don't get back to you right away and at the time you are holding the line for a long time. If ADP had a direct contact to call someone when you have a problem I would gibe them 4 stars.

ADP's RUN payroll software is very user-friendly and self-explanatory. It's appropriately priced based on the number of employees you have, so it's affordable for even the smallest of companies and can grow as you grow. It has a great new employee access portal, where employees can see their pay stubs, view tax forms, and change their direct deposit information themselves.

Cons

ADP's customer service is hit or miss. With this tool you are not given a dedicated rep, you are at the mercy of their call center. Most reps are very helpful, but I've run into several who are not helpful or knowledgeable.
The reporting capabilities are also very limited.

I have been using RUN for two years now. It is a decent payroll product but it is not a replacement for an HRIS. It is close but lacking features that would make it much more helpful for a small company like ours.

ADP's fraudulent billing practices soured us on their product

ADP overcharged us and then gave us the runaround to avoid squaring up our account. We had ADP Run, which includes Garnishment services. However, ADP somehow ended up charging us for the garnishment service on each payroll run but hid it on our invoices so instead of labeling the extra service as a charge, they labeled it as an extra couple of employees, which was hard to notice as our real headcounts would fluctuate.

Once we noticed the discrepancy, ADP admitted to charging us extra for the garnishment service. So we asked for them to refund it since we were supposed to get that service for free anyway. They agreed to issue us a refund.

However, we never received the refund. Now when we call them, they refuse to issue the credits or review the issue. Since they've effectively stolen money from a small business, I hope other potential users decide to go with a more ethical company.

Advice to Others

Don't use ADP. They literally stole from us.

ADP software is typically easy to use because the consoles are simple. They do not add too much detail to make it confusing. We used this at my previous job for time clock entry and my employer used it for tax purposes. There were rarely ever issues and if there were it seemed like there were plenty of warnings/messages (for scheduled maintenance). Overall, this was a better system than others that I have used.

I used this software at my previous job to calculate my regular hours, OT, vacation time, etc. It was a quick way to keep up with labor and make sure that all my Ts were crossed and Is were dotted. The simplicity of the interface made it nice to get work done quickly without ads and such getting in the way. I was always pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to others.

We are a smaller company with 120 employees and have found that using ADP Enhanced has helped us with payroll, time and attendance, and compliance. It has streamlined the processes and the way we do business. ADP helps with running reports and staying organized as our company has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years. As we grow it is nice to know that ADP offers packages that cater to that.

Pros

It is user friendly and easy to input data with peace of mind. If I have an issue or concern their representatives are easy to reach by phone or email and the problem is usually resolved in a short period of time.

Cons

Sometimes the system has issues on ADP's end, with lag, or error messages but it happens rarely.

Advice to Others

The amount of information that is available to me. The reports that are available have been very useful and have a look that makes them easy to use.

Cons

The effective date of salary adjustments is locked within your current pay period. Employee reviews are generally at least one pay cycle behind and it would be nice if that date reflected the actual review date.

Progression to one-stop-shop usage. I've used EV4 in the past and V12 and new version is a breath of fresh air in comparison to older versions.

Cons

Limitations on simple functionality. I'm not a big fan of time and attendance and how it's structured with time off. It can be cumbersome to run reports off of T/A and most reports that are considered simple (time off balances) require input from the reporting team.

The satisfaction of knowing our payroll is done professionally.

Pros

I like the ease of submitting our employee hours and having our payroll done professionally. The program is pretty much self-explanatory.

Cons

If I have to list one, maybe it would be not having one personal person to call for help. Each time I call, I may have a different attendant who may not be aware of my previous calls.
Also, recently our 401K had not been reported. Am not sure of the reason.

We love being able to have control over entering the payroll information on our own time schedule, being able to log in and pull up reports instantly, without having to request it & wait for someone to get back to us.

Pros

very easy to use, very user friendly, customer service is easy to get to.

Cons

Not being able to open multiple reports at once; also when looking at a report for a certain period which is not current and switching to another report the period resets, would like it to stay the same as the current report being seen

I like running my own payroll, making HR changes quickly and using employee wizard handbook wizard to customize a plan for CCPED. ADP Run processes our health benefits, retirement options and workers comp questions.

Pros

Inclusions like HR support, Tax forms, Time Management, and HR411 are customizable features that I was not taking full advantage of until recently.

Cons

I ran into a few problems with new employee setup and mobile access (case submitted and solved) either through phone or online support .
