RUN powered by ADP is a Web-based payroll solution designed for small businesses. This system can deployed on the iPhones, iPads and other touchscreen devices. It can also be integrated with third-party accounting software and other services available from ADP.

RUN provides cash flow management by allowing users to see and verify cash required before the processing of payroll along with view and analysis of current payroll activities.

The built-in human resources (HR) management services provide access to HR experts via HR Helpdesk for best practice answers to HR-related queries. The system also has a dedicated HR portal to keep all critical information in one place with secure online storage of key employee documents. HR411, the online resource from ADP, provides day to day best practices for businesses.

RUN also comes with the support of ADP’s payroll tax compliance team with notifications for tax deadlines, changes and new requirements. The team helps make filings and deposits as per the latest regulations of federal, state and local taxes.

ADP software is typically easy to use because the consoles are simple. They do not add too much detail to make it confusing. We used this at my previous job for time clock entry and my employer used it for tax purposes. There were rarely ever issues and if there were it seemed like there were plenty of warnings/messages (for scheduled maintenance). Overall, this was a better system than others that I have used.

I used this software at my previous job to calculate my regular hours, OT, vacation time, etc. It was a quick way to keep up with labor and make sure that all my Ts were crossed and Is were dotted. The simplicity of the interface made it nice to get work done quickly without ads and such getting in the way. I was always pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to others.

The product is great my only complaint is customer service, they are quick with upgrades which is great just customer service needs training before they release the upgrade

I use run to clock in and out. Simple enough. And it is also easy to get to my paystub information.

The product is okay but I wish it would have more cross functionalities with other HRIS. It also needs to be easier to use. Overall the experience was lacking.

We are a smaller company with 120 employees and have found that using ADP Enhanced has helped us with payroll, time and attendance, and compliance. It has streamlined the processes and the way we do business. ADP helps with running reports and staying organized as our company has grown by leaps and bounds in the last few years. As we grow it is nice to know that ADP offers packages that cater to that.

Pros

It is user friendly and easy to input data with peace of mind. If I have an issue or concern their representatives are easy to reach by phone or email and the problem is usually resolved in a short period of time.

Cons

Sometimes the system has issues on ADP's end, with lag, or error messages but it happens rarely.

Advice to Others

Explore your options but ADP holds strong with its niche of the market and we haven't been disappointed.

We use this for our HR Payroll and have our employees request vacation, sick or bereavement time. They have access to the portal to log in and see their pay stubs and view their tax deductions. We also use this because it has a number of extra features, such as a discount program.

Pros

Its easy to navigate and had all the tools that we need to keep our employees information organized

Cons

People do not log on as much as we would like and they forget their login and it is hard to set them up with a new one

The site is easy to navigate and very easy to find what you are looking for.
the new reporting system is easy to set up and navigate as well

The cost is fairly expensive in that the fees are all separate for connecting to the vendors, a monthly reporting fee, monthly processing fees, etc
The Customer Support is getting better but I have been requesting a designated rep for over a year and have heard nothing.
The latest issue is that we are having connectivity issues with one of our vendors. We are working through a CSR with that dept and not directly with the technical team. I know the CSRs are busy so it would be so much easier to go straight to the source. this has been ongoing for a couple of months.

Recommendations

Find out how many companies are actually involved that carry their name.
Verify if the costs are inclusive or if separate.
Ask how many clients are attached to their customer support center and how many reps carry each center

It displays pay statements and w2 info, keeps history of vacation/sick hours and the time used.

Likes Least

Sessions time out to quickly. Often times there issues when trying to login. You will get invalid username/password although you are entering it correctly.

Not because they're in charge of my pay, but this is an awesome software. You can literally enter/request just about anything here without having to tell your Manager/HR. If you are afraid/shy asking your boss about some time off, just go ahead and do it behind your computer with ADP. Did I also mention that, ADP portal, is user friendly! I highly recommend this to every employer.

Using this system fast and effectively takes quite a bit of training, even for someone who has used ADP before. WFN is an entirely different beast.

Recommendations

Even though we had multiple reps helping us with the setup, and to learn the WFN system, I found that the customer service was lacking. It would take too long to get responses, or the help that I needed most of the time.

the 24-48 hour wait after signing up for the 401k. Having to wait that long to check on this info is not a great way.

When the product works the way it should, it's the best system I've used.

I've had a number of issues with ADP, which I've learned to work around. Issues after the system is upgraded, customer service reps who can give the same answer twice, inability to get certain reports (like a headcount), notifications for reviews that we can't seem to stop/turn off, information not being located where you think it should (pay rates are not in the "Pay" section). I could go on.

Recommendations

ADP is very good as long as you can work within their constraints. I would advise that you evaluate the reports, etc that you currently get and find out if ADP can do that.

It is a very basic, simple payroll system. It works very well for a small company. We use the time and attendance module and while it's not 100% perfect for our unique needs, it does the job and is easy to use.

It doesn't have the capabilities that ADP Work Force Now has. I can't track much more than current demographics, department and pay rates.

Recommendations
