Bullhorn is a cloud-based applicant tracking and customer relationship management solution for small and midsize recruiting and staffing agencies. It offers email integrations, social media integration, reporting tools, mobile recruiting and passive activity tracking, and helps businesses manage contacts, track candidates, post job openings and fill open positions.

Bullhorn integrates with third-party email service providers such as Gmail and Outlook to send, receive and track communications. Users can view information about candidates from their inbox and access resumes, add notes, share details, create new tasks and schedule appointments. Bullhorn also integrates with LinkedIn Recruiter.

Bullhorn offers built-in reporting and analytics capabilities to help users track interactions with candidates. The configurable dashboard allows users to customize layout screens according to their preferences and helps to track business KPIs. Some of the additional features of Bullhorn are workflow management, job posting, mobile accessibility, social recruiting and data storage.

Plenty of areas to improve. I look forward to what the future has for Bullhorn CRM

Pros

Like how I can post jobs to multiple social media websites and job boards. More Job boards would be awesome for different industries. Trucking job boards, Sales Job boards, etc.
I like how I can change bullhorn CRM settings and fields to make it look and feel more user friendly.

Cons

Would like more social media sites to be able to post to.
Would like more of a selection for Auto posting functionality besides twitter.
With Bullhorn Reach this was a easy step to do. With a home made career portal, this functionality is lost.
Indeed needs better support to support bullhorn CRM users.

It's a learning process but I over all like the system just wish they could get the glitches out and also wish they would allow you to make a csv export document of your task lists.

Pros

Technical support is AMAZING. You can call them 100 times a day and they don't get irritated and they also send you a recap every time you chat so you can have the steps they walked you through in an email to refer to. There are a lot of resources and training video's to help when you first use bullhorn. I like that you can set up your bullhorn any way you want. You can change the names of text boxes and fields, required fields, what your record categories are called - everything is able to be personalized to your business.

Cons

There are A LOT of glitches because it's on a browser? I don't know if that's the reason but sometimes you search a name in the top search bar that you've searched for A MILLION times and it won't come up. You have to do like a letter of the first name and then the whole name of vise versa but if you type in the exact name in the record it still won't pull it up. It also kicks us out all the time, doesn't load right etc.

Great front office workflow!

Technical support does a great job of helping us work through any technical issues that come up in a timely manner.

Pros

We really enjoy the features of the front office module. It is easy to use and has made it easier to manage the job order process from logging and tracking submissions through the interview and placement process.

Cons

We've had some issues with the back office module. It's not as easy to use as front office, and we have had issues with information flowing from front to back correctly.

I've used bullhorn for 4 years. I do think it is better than other Applicant tracking systems out there!

Pros

Bullhorn is easy to organize. I like the tearsheets and company searches and the ability to organize through tasks.

Cons

Not as many search functions as I would like. The parsing can sometimes cause problems and I wish that there was a way to not let someone save a profile without updating certain fields.

Bullhorn does a good job

The price is high for a mom and pop like us. There is a local company called Loxo that is much less and offers similar features.

Pros

Auto parsing from e-mails is convenient, tearsheets, searching functions are good. Features for recording placements and managing commissions is great.

Cons

I think the front screen fields could be better - such as a place to put info so all recruiters see right away - such as don't use candidate, locations of interest. I label all dialogue that comes back from a candidate as inbound. It would be good to have the fields of returned inmail, or returned e-mail,
Taking candidates off from a tearsheet from the candidate screen isn't easy. I have to go into the actual tearsheet to remove it.

For some reason, I get cued to login to bullhorn all the time. Mostly when parsing an e-mail. It could take 2-3 logins to get to the right screen.

All in one screen which makes it easy to use good search functionality, integration with broadbean which is really good.

Cons

reporting is a bit lacking, not very customisable - i have to download to excel to do most analysis. customer service can be quite slow, but all problems I've had have bene resolved. occassionally logs people out or resets their searches which can be frustrating

Very Powerful Tool. It has the capability to reach many candidates and clients in a very quick way. It's extremely efficient.

Cons

Sometimes this product has so many tools that it is too complicated. It can be overwhelming at times. It's like buying a computer, you will never use all of the things you purchased.

Bullhorn, while great in concept, is lackluster in delivery. The Dashboard isn't customizable, the reports aren't customizable, and the search functionality is subpar at best. Correction, when I say these options aren't customizable, I mean they're not customizable for free. Bullhorn will be more than happy to charge you a ridiculous rate to create a customized option that doesn't exactly fit what you're asking for. Also, Bullhorn doesn't allow bulk uploads of resumes like many competitors do, the reporting on recruiting and sales activity isn't accurate or doesn't give you the information you're looking for. None of the data is the same throughout the system. On the submitted to AM page it will give you one number but if you run a report on submittals it will be different. Same with interviews, hires, etc. Bullhorn has apparently spent much of their subscription fees on the UI and completely ignored the functionality of the system. Also, if you're not listed as an account admin, their customer service won't talk to you without charging you a fee.

Pros

They have a pretty great annual party in Boston.

Cons

Backoffice is not reliable when it comes to invoicing our clients. Because it is not a part of Bullhorn, some items aren't always updated correctly. The Commission function is useless to us, as the system is not able to calculate commissions based off our struction.

A bit expensive but worth it if you really plan to utilize technology. If you're just looking for a way to track recruiter activity, this is overkill. If you want to completely automate the busy work of posting, sourcing, recruiting and process management Bullhorn is a tough act to beat.

Pros

Very robust with excellent support.

Cons

Being one of the older ATS's there's a lot of legacy features they could eliminate to make it easier to use. Even so their support is excellent when trying to work around these. Bull horn isn't the easiest system to use, I've use 6 but, it just takes a little getting used to. The question is are you looking for a really integrated recruiting solution or a cheap Rolodex? Bullhorn is for organizations willing to commit to taking advantage of technology.

I think Bullhorn has a lot of good features but unfortunately the bad outweigh the good for instance we pay a substantial amount for Bullhorn Front and Back office, yet these two systems DO NOT speak to one another so I have to manually enter each thing twice. For being the best in staffing ATS systems they do not work for staffing agencies the workflow isn't customizable and everything is by bullhorns rules, and if you want to go outside those rules you have to pay MORE money. The customer service is lacking in product knowledge, any questions asked have a 50% rate they will know the answer. Honestly, Bullhorn is just not where it should be for being the supposed "best".

So during the implementation process I was given an overview of the product and the options. Now that I have been using it for a couple of months I want to change a lot of the features to better suit my recruiting style but told that it will cost me more money unless I go through each change individually with a tech. rep.

Good for what I need. As an independent recruiter, I can only speak from a 1 user perspective but it does the job well, is good value and the live chat customer service is excellent when you cant work something out. I still think there could be a lot of improvements and sometimes you have to click too many times to get to a page but it is a good easy to use database with a good layout. Decent and definitely one of the better ones on the market as I tried a few and many were awful!

Pros

Easy to use and good layout. Like the hotlists tool a lot. This is really helpful. Can use anywhere and app is handy.

Cons

too many clicks on a lot of actions. Can only search on surname, not first names. Notes system could be better
