Employment Hero Software


 

Employment Hero is an Australian Web-based human resources (HR) system available to businesses of all industries and sizes worldwide. The system helps manage the entire employee lifecycle, with modules for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, performance review and more.

Employment Hero’s other features include a supporting law firm that keeps contacts and HR policies up to date and employee self-service functionality that allows workers to request leave, view payslips and timesheets and edit personal or banking information.

In regard to recruiting, Employment Hero allows users to create their careers page, post to the free Employment Hero jobs board, create questionnaires for candidates and do things like background checks.

An onboarding checklist ensures that all workers are compliant and allows the process to be completely paperless. From there, timesheets can be filled out by employees and approved by managers, payroll can be outsourced to Employment Hero for accuracy and reporting can help gain insight into an organization’s performance.

The training has some good videos available. Customer support was good once they got back to me.

Cons

Simplicity in the cloud, connecting the company with the employees and informing the managers.

As an exec being able to access contracts in real time, without a request via a person enables me to explore opportunities quicker.

Cons

Some obvious features still to evolve. Being able to generate lists of Employees with Annual Salaries, or Employees and their Notice periods. No doubt it will come.

Lacks the ability to give admin access over groups.

HR made easier for me, as a 1 person office - being all to everything at times is a struggle. A tool to assist in the running of daily staff requirements can only be a great thing. Compliance can be at your fingertips, anything that brings a bit of balance into your role as the HR, Payroll and 99 other jobs can only be a great thing.

Pros

Ease of use and good client backup.
Easy learn and adaptable.
HR Simplified with in built forms for ease of access
Integration was simple, with simple tutorial and great downloadable information to follow.

Cons

Like anything, practice makes perfect - I need the practice :)
Tutorial is hard to hear at times.
The forms need more adaptability - unable to change sections can delete but not remove just partial sections to suit - Is this user issue or just teething problem.

Organised records and data

Pros

Contains the features that we need to keep employee records, especially the filing of leave. We are struggling to manually keep employee leaves until we got this database, really a huge help for me.

Cons

The set up of payslip is a bit complicated, we are not able to use it as we cannot figure out the proper way of using it. Also we are not sure how secured it is to use.

Works beautifully for storing employee documents and the functionality is awesome for everything from onboarding to entering a leave request.

Pros

I was really impressed with how easy and seamless it is to sync with our current payroll software. Really quick and simple to import information and to load documents. Very user friendly from an admin perspective as well as for employees to load data and enter leave requests. I love this system!

Using Employment Hero to track my staff's qualifications, certificates and rostering, this platform allow me to be secure in knowing that my staff meet compliance standards

Cons

Our business is slightly different to the norm of organisations using this platform with our staff doing over night shift work and a number of staff being casual there is some gaps in the rostering and time sheet features.

It has streamlined my HR processes and it ensures that all employees must read and acknowledge the polices in place.

Pros

The ease of use, and how it is laid out would be what I like most about the software. Also that it integrates with my accounting software.

Cons

For what I needed it for, there isn't really much I don't like. Probably the only thing would be that there are fields in Employment Hero that I had to manual enter because it is not captured in my accounting software, which is more of a problem with the accounting software.

I can get discounts on products and services and I know my payslips stored in a save and easily accessible spot.

Pros

I find the system very easy to use. Whenever I had a question or forgot my password the response was immediate.

Cons

- Great software for small -medium sized businesses

Pros

It is very user friendly and intuitive software - the best on the market- all HR records are in one place and I can easily run reports, update and manage the workforce. Having Employment Hero has saved us (payroll & HR) a lot of time.

Cons

Some features - such as performance reviews - could be slightly improved, but the price makes up for that.

It has made On-Boarding and HR management 1000 times easier

Pros

Going paperless is excellent. It streamlined the number of documents that we had to send out to new starters & reduced error as it put it in the hands of the staff to input their personal info. The team based customization for the On-Boarding Checklist with notifications is a life saver.

Cons

It is missing an equivalent Off-Boarding process at the moment but I believe that is in the works.

Everything about Employment Hero is easy to use and easy to understand. Has helped our organisation do paperless with HR and track/control more with less effort (better than our previous system combination of software/files/folers).

Pros

The ability to upload policies, HR documents and the system tracks the completion/acknowledgment for you in a fast and simple way. The people behind the customer service are responsive and helpful so it's not just "software as a service"..you get great support too.

Cons

It does everything it says it does well. The way people can sign documents on their phones/tablets/computers is a little inaccurate (turns your signature into more of a scribble) which should be improved, but that's mostly cosmetic.

Better data storage as EH ensures it is all stored in one place. Also, less time/coat on HR administration as the system makes it straightforward.

Pros

Employees entering their own data direct into system so there is no admin required to process it. Also like the automatic interface to MYOB.

Cons

Screens take a while to load and more click throughs are required than seem necessary at times. Making edits to employment contexts or policies seems a bit clunky - ideally want this to be something that can be done at the business end. I also find that I am asked for feedback far too frequently!

I have 25 employees and a Financial Controller who was bugging me to replace our outsourced HR service with a full time HR assistant. We explored various options and Employment Hero has improved our HR function and my FC spends LESS time on HR than when she had to deal with the outsourced provider.

Pros

Full functionality, allows us to do everything we need. Onboarding and Induction is incredibly simple, love the fact that the system chases employees for missing details rather than a person. The depth of content and library of HR resources is amazing.

Cons

Probably the implementation could be better but once you're set up its a dream

Get the premium version, its a small price to pay for the additional functionality.

I'm a big fan of the interface. The Dashboard let's you see all notifications and pings you emails of anything that is outstanding or coming up - really help you keep on top of things.

On-boarding is a dream as well, takes about 2 minutes.
