Gopher for Recruiters Software

BlackDog Recruiting Software has been in the industry for more than 30 years. Having originally developed custom recruiting applications for its own staff and then other firms, BlackDog refined these applications into a single powerful tool, Gopher. Gopher for Recruiters is a comprehensive recruiting solution that can be scaled to meet the needs of companies of all sizes.

This software is backed by decades of industry expertise and provides reliable, user-friendly functionality to improve the recruiting process. With a suite of applications that include ATS, CRM, and both contact and sales management, users can easily manage every stage of the recruiting process from a single solution.

Gopher is unique in that it offers both a cloud hosted and a self hosted options, so companies have access to a deployment model that works best for them. The cloud hosted model runs via an Internet connection, but without the risks associated with a web server. The self hosted option allows companies to license the product and host it locally - a great option for companies with a higher user count.

Both deployments offer a user-friendly, interactive interface that allows users to quickly and easily toggle through their various daily tasks. Even if you have multiple windows, projects or assignments on your desktop, Gopher ensures they talk to each other, so data remains up-to-date and consistent. The software has a deep integration with Microsoft Outlook so all tasks and functions feed into Outlook and vice versa.

The software is highly customizable, and BlackDog offers unlimited hands-on training from their friendly, knowledgeable staff. Support and upgrades are included in Gopher's affordable pricing structure.

We recommend this solution to small and growing 3rd party recruiters seeking an affordable, reliable solution.

Very user-friendly. I only recall needing tech support two times in 12 years, and they were on it immediately

I have no issues. There's nothing that I do not like. It works well and consistently.

Recommendations

There are multiple vendors of headhunter software packages. Evaluate three or four. Some of them I found ridiculously expensive to buy, and others have a monthly charge per user. Gopher is fairly inexpensive.

Gopher for Recruiters has been a big help to our firm. We are a niche recruiting firm with seven recruiters, all working in the same specialty. The software that we previously had in place was installed in the late 90's and was, to put it simply, outdated for the information environment we live in now. Its primary setback was that it required two sets of records for a single "contact", one if they were a client and another if they were a candidate. The notes associated with each file were never merged. In addition, the process of adding a resume to the database was cumbersome and required additional overhead in back office staff to administer.

Gopher solved all that. We bought the software in 2009 and have been very pleased with the outcome. We were able to reduce overhead by eliminating one administrative position and we gained some productivity with our recruiters. As with any situation, when you are converting from one software to another, making sure you don't lose data is challenging. The staff at Gopher helped us get through that process. We decided to host the system on our own server.

The Gopher staff did a great job training our recruiters as far as they could. Any further training issues were related to how we use the system differently than others. We had to train them on how to do things the way we wanted them done.

As far as support is concerned, "crisis" support has rarely been needed and usually because something changed on our end. We decided to host the system on our server. If you host off site, that might work out better for you. Non-crisis support usually has to be scheduled, but is handled within 24 to 48 hours. We have been very pleased with our decision.

We are a contingency search firm specializing in direct placement of finance and accounting professionals. We have used Gopher for Recruiters for over 10 years and have been extremely satisfied with the software and the customer support.

Gopher is very flexible and customizable. Another benefit is that the the software is tightly integrated with Microsoft Outlook and Word which speeds up a new users learning curve. We use the hosted version of Gopher which allows us to access the software from anywhere in the world and not have to worry about back-ups, installing software updates, etc.

We would highly recommend Gopher to any recruiting firm firm interested in a high quality and reasonable priced product.
