Great feature offering such as email integration, send on behalf of, reporting with click down features into number, and the chrome extension

Cons

The email integration does not work well... continually pulls in the wrong email threads into candidate profiles, and also uploads wrong contact info and even files!! The data changes and is not accurate, and we tested this a few times. To have key data changed, we have to contact support to have them change it. Very weak compatibility with Outlook/Windows and when calendar invitations are sent out, the wrong time continually presents itself on the invitations. Also, too many .png files are pulled into a candidate profile (a result of the email integration) which ends up crowding up the candidate profile and key files are hard to find as a result.

I really appreciate all of the help and support I (we) get from the Lever team. The trainings, resources and ticketing system has been extremely helpful. The system has provided us with a lot of functionality that we have never had before. We are able to track all of the activity on each candidate in one place, comments, notes, emails, feedback, and ratings. This has also allowed us to be truly compliant with our recruiting process.

Cons

One of the things I know is in production is an alert to the hiring manager when there has been a candidate that has applied.

- Candidate focused - all communications with the recruiting team, hiring teams, scheduling interviews, and feedback are all automated through Lever. There are no manual processes!
- An adaptable system that you can make what you want/need out of it.

Cons

- Doesn't fully integrate with Outlook which has caused some minor inconveniences e.g. our outlook calendar invites that are sent from the system don't have reminders automatically set in them (15 minute warning prior to interview) and our interview team has to manually delete them off their calendars if an interview is cancelled.

Great product - have not regretted our move. We're hiring faster than ever, and the company seems much more aligned in hiring.

Pros

- From the very beginning, Lever was high-touch and hands on with their implementation. This made what I thought would be the hardest part of the process very easy.
- Great UI, very intuitive. Far easier to get hiring managers to use a product that operates so easily.
- Built for collaboration. The product makes gathering feedback very simple and with customized feedback forms, it saves a lot of time--no longer are we chasing people around to get feedback. Candidates are much more satisfied.
- Open to suggestions. We've had issues or requests with the product that Lever has been very receptive to. I love that we can look forward to a constantly improving product.

Cons

- Reporting can be a bit limiting, but that comes with the territory when you have a product that is this easy and intuitive.
- Scheduling through Google Calendars (as some competitors do) would be a really nice plus.

We have had great customer service and we love nurture. All the other basic tools are there- candidate mgmt, interview scheduling, feedback etc. It also has a really nice UI and a pretty self explanatory UX.

Cons

The data seems very unreliable. We get different numbers for the pipeline. There is not enough granularity for our metrics, we have to do most reports for our exec team manually.

I have 17 years recruiting experience and have founded two recruiting firms, consulted for 5 startups in building the recruiting function, and now manage a talent acquisition team for a startup within a Fortune 30 company. I have used most of the major (and some unknown) Applicant Track Systems (Bullhorn, Jobvite, Maxhire, PCRecruiter, SmartRecruiters, to name a few) and none of them help move the pipeline and surface old candidates as well as Lever. Excellent product!

Pros

The ease of use if off the charts. The pipeline-centric UI makes the product very usable with little or no training.

Cons

The user permissions are a bit more complex than they need to be. The job posting service is decent, but could be improved to bring more traffic.

The UI is super intuitive. The learning period for comfortably navigating the system and time to value was minimal. This has been a great tool for our team and even better for our hiring managers who are loving the new system.

Cons

The only con I can think of is the scheduling feature. You have the ability to check your employee's availability on their calendar and it is not the most intuitive. However, Lever recognizes this and is working to make it better.

Lever is a very intuitive product, and takes the recruiting efforts of any organization to the next level. The interface is extremely user friendly, and helps streamline candidate experience. Their Customer Success team is amazing, and they are always willing to go above and beyond for their clients.

I first came across Lever when I was leading recruiting efforts at a startup called Bluecore. I was all but settled on selecting Greenhouse as our ATS, not because I thought it was better than Lever, but simply because Greenhouse was the ATS that I heard the most buzz about. Before pulling the trigger, though, I decided it would be a good idea to see what else was out there, and at least take a look at another option or two. I reached out to my Recruiter network, and my buddy at Foursquare mentioned to me that they were using Lever, and that he really liked it. I set up a demo, and the rest is history. Lever knocked the demo out of the park, and I have had an amazing relationship with the company since.

When I eventually left Bluecore to become the Director of Talent at Docurated, I made sure during the interview process that I would be able to bring Lever with me. The product is continuously improving, and I look forward to being a part of the ride.

Cons

I don't really have anything negative to say about Lever, as I am a big proponent of all of it's functionalities. If I had to pick something, I would suggest that Lever start working with more job posting sites to enhance it's capabilities on the frontend. Blasting out job postings to Indeed and other top job sites, besides for just Glassdoor and LinkedIn (I think you can only do this if you purchase job posting slots from these sites), would be awesome. Right now I am using Built In NYC in additional to Lever to ensure I get the most bang for my buck in regards to driving inbound candidate flow.

Their sourcing data and reporting could be improved in functionality and ease of use, but it has been a definite improvement.

I've been using Lever for over 6 months now and I'm happy for the most part. It's great if you need a simple candidate pipeline tool and highly value LinkedIn integration. The job posting page looks good, but the editing options are limited and it forces you into a few things I don't like (all caps section titles for ex.)

Pros

Ease of use, very fast, minimal clicks, great LinkedIn integration

Cons

their "Candidate Based" flow is intuitive and great for internal hiring. This product would be a poor choice for an agency for several reasons. There's nowhere for you to put notes in about the jobs postings, you have to keep this information somewhere else. Hard to search for previous job postings. It's really designed for an internal company that wants to hire multiples of the same profile.

Advice to Others

Test this thoroughly to make sure it will work for you. If it meets your needs it's great, if it feels like it falls short in critical areas, look to other products like Greenhouse.

Product was very, very intuitive - a little bit more than others, actually. Easy to set up and great functionality (like many others, with integrations, email syncs, and critical sharing features to keep hiring managers engaged in the process).

Sales rep tried to go over the buyer's head, trying to circumvent the process - really rubbed leadership the wrong way. No way we were going to buy the product after a poorly-calculated decision like that... Very similar offering to others, but costing was higher and there would be rate increases after first year (whereas others, like Jazz, hold them constant).

Recommendations

Check out integrations - very powerful, but also be aware of the requirements for same before signing. Be wary of price increases after first term!

We are a smaller company with just a couple of people doing recruiting. We wanted something that could be implemented quickly and with ease, was financially valuable and not over-priced, was easy to use, and would allow us to keep track of candidates that prefer to work on contract - so knowing when a candidate's existing contract was up was important. Lever provides all of this.

Using gmail to send multiple resumes to lever that will automatically upload with candidate data. Using the snooze feature, the scheduling feature is very easy to use and when scheduling multiple people, it's even easier.

Recommendations

Walk through your current process and see if the software would enhance your current process to make it faster and easier. Having an easier way to keep track of consultants, and with our recruiting staff being in different states, we wanted to make sure these issues were seamless.

As a former user of Jobvite and most recently ICIMS. My outlook on ATSs before was that they all were the lesser of evils. Most solutions solve a few pain points but leaves you wanting so much more. From Day 1 Lever has changed that POV for me.

The UI is so intuitive. Wherever your brain thinks that a button should be or the next step in a process should be, it is there. The ramp up time for comfortably navigating the product was minimal. This has been great for our recruiting team and even better for our hiring mgrs who are loving working in the new system. It really helps to create a single information hub for all of our hiring.

It has the features I have always wanted from an ATS but never found in 1 solution. Deep reporting that is already built out, customization of templates, integration with LinkedIn to name a few. The Lever team is great about keeping us update on changes coming and listening to our input on features when it comes to product road map.

Likes Least

Their built in reporting is great but it would be great to be able to visualize this information within the platform. Right now you can export data and further visualize beyond just data tables in excel. If there was a future integration with a platform like Tableau, that could offer so really beautiful ways to look at data in a different form than tables.

Recommendations

The best ATS solution is all about understanding what your goals are as a recruiting org. If in-depth reporting, a super intuitive and easy to interact with system for recruiters and hiring mgrs, reasonable pricing & super responsive and personable support are on your list. This is the ATS for you.

Simple, intuitive and easy to setup. We went from managing all our candidates in our inboxes, which inevitably meant we dropped some balls and didn't create the best experience for people that wished to work with us. Lever was setup in short order and immediately brought organization to a chaotic and overwhelming process. A couple of months in and I'm still really enjoying how it's streamlined our recruiting and hiring process.

Cons

Would love to see a bit more color in the app - sometimes all the greyscale feels a bit dry and lifeless. Great UI and UX but would love some more color!

Features that get folks excited like the chrome extension, email integration (files from emails are auto uploaded with this integration).

Cons

Too many functional flaws. Wrong emails and contact information are pulled into the wrong candidate profiles. The data is not trustworthy and very concerning. Compatibility with Windows is very weak/poor. Very difficult to build candidate pipelines, and not much capabiility to customize.

Very collaborative, great reporting, offers my execs & staff a very transparent look into our pipeline.

Pros

Set up just works. Integration with email & calendar & Slack are as simple as one click. The UI is very intuitive and easy to navigate. Very easy to find what you want and understand your next steps. Clearly built from the ground up with collaboration in mind- very easy to chat with coworkers and hiring managers and share thoughts on candidates. And all backed by a world class customer support & success teams. One of the best onboarding experiences I've never had.

Cons

The color scheme is almost too minimalist- a few more pops of color here and there might not go amiss. That's about it. I've been through 3 ATS implementations in the past 5 years and this is the only system I want to use for the rest of my career. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

I love its seamless integration with the tools we most use--Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Abacus, and Docusign. It has made our entire hiring process more seamless as a result.

For applicants, it provides a more professional, personalized (if templated!) experience than what our young company had previously afforded.

For our People Operations department (of one) it has vastly improved our organization of resumes. Previously, I received from multiple sources (hand-delivered resumes, forwarded emails of resumes, dozens of job boards) often receiving resumes from people who were not directly involved with the hiring process. Lever has helped keep the channels of communication open between varying levels of involvement, equipping team members to track at the distance that makes the most sense for them.

Furthermore, it has renewed energy throughout the company regarding our democratic hiring process. It is helpful that all team members can refer candidates more easily to the wider team, and that they can see all of their feedback forms/interviews in once place. The Slack reminders regarding feedback prove helpful since so much of our work is carried out via Slack.

I also very much enjoyed the implementation process with Phil. He made clear that there is no dumb question. He was consistently friendly, and empathetic when there were obstacles in the implementation. He had a great way of allowing me to train by doing instead of training by sight.

Cons

I look forward to the tool having more options in terms of auto-text/mail-merge. For example, it would be great if email templates had some options for dates and times. I also wish that it were possible to add multiple locations to a particular posting. I created a location called "Multiple Locations," but it'd be nice to have more specific cities listed. Perhaps I'm missing something though and this is an option. I'm still very young in my use of this tool.

I also wish that the workflow process could be manipulated by super admins. If ever we need to make an edit to the workflows, we will need to contact Lever's support team. I have no doubt they will be responsive. I simply wish we were empowered to customize this ourselves as needs change. It'd be great if each department could customize their own flow for their different hiring processes.

Also, the cost was nearly prohibitive for our small company. I was glad that the team worked with us on this. I trust that if we can expand its use across departments (instead of the initially approved Client Success team), the company will see its full value. Right now it's a bit costly for our 1-person People Ops 'team' in its primary focus on Client Success hires. I think to get full use out of this platform, we would need a full-time recruiter--possibly using the Teamable and LinkedIn Recruiter integrations that Lever affords.

Lever is a great, flexible ATS. It's a candidate centric software, meaning it focuses on candidate first over individual jobs. You can add the same candidate to multiple roles and compare them across multiple roles. This is what I like most about Lever.

In addition many features are very intuitive - for example I like that drop down menus also become type-able so you don't have to scroll through a lot of option.

Little details like this make Lever a joy to use! It's great for growing organizations with 5-55 roles open! :)

I have ~10 years of recruiting experience, Lever is by far the best ATS in my opinion. The pipeline-centric product was very intuitive, came with great functionality, including Google/ Slack/ DocuSign integration. Love the UI, easy to follow/ track our job postings and candidates. The UI was excellent, most of my team took very little time to get comfortable with this platform - a big boost for employee participation in recruitment. We have a very small recruiting team, Lever really made a huge difference to the way we manage the candidate journey. Bonus: Excellent sales and customer support team, it's always a joy to work with them!

We're mid-sized non-profit organization that entered a growth phase that required lots of hiring. Our system for tracking applicants was spread across multiple Google docs that worked when we were just starting out but quickly became inadequate to manage our growth needs.
I'm so thankful to have found Lever. Their customer service is beyond anything I've experienced before. They took our google docs and imported it all into Lever's system, making the transition seamless. It quickly became apparent that more of our staff could get involved in the hiring process and it thankfully didn't require laborious training sessions. Staff simply logged on and figured it out - it's that easy. What's more, we started using Lever for our intern recruitment and hiring, something I hadn't even thought about when choosing Lever. It's utility has surpassed my expectations.
I really don't like to give perfect scores when rating, but I struggle to think of a way that Lever could be improved. When I do, I'm sure I could give Lever that feedback and the improvement would be made.
Thanks Lever! It reinforces that I made the right decision when my staff come to me and say Thanks goodness for Lever!

Pros

It's comprehensive in its functionality. Every need I have for managing the hiring process is met. Furthermore, its super easy to learn, which has mean that I haven't needed to train my staff on its use - a huge time save for me.

Cons

The only thing I would like is to be able to have a custom pipeline for each position for which I'm hiring.

Lever is a very easy to use product with tons of benefits. It has helped me streamline so many steps in the talent acquisition process and is very user friendly. The software allows everyone to collaborate with each other and the customer support/set up team was awesome. They were highly engaged and were always on hand to assist me. There is a wealth of resources available to you as a user and the service is very response.

Loved the customer support and sales team from the first day I contacted them to the end of the set up process. They were very friendly and helpful. Lever truly wants you to succeed and offers many tools to support you. The software program also integrates with many other systems to help streamline the hiring process.

I would highly recommend this recruiting tool to anyone out there. Our dedicated Implementation Specialist was a tremendous help and always available to answer my questions. The customer representative who showed me the demo and helped "seal the deal" was super informative and ensured I was comfortable with each step of the process.

Great product, great support, and great team to work with. I am super excited to continue partnering with Lever!

We've been using Lever at Distil for a little over a year and I cannot imagine ever transitioning to another ATS. Lever is very easy to use, it's intuitive and sleek. Best thing is - even our hiring managers and tech guys love using it! The only advise I would give them is keep doing what you are doing!

I like lever as a way to quickly review candidates when they apply for the job and then let the HR staff know my initial impressions. It's generally a good way to collect feedback for the interview process, but the calendar integrations are a little flakey--especially when we try to combine it with reserving a conference room.

We were on a very old school ATS platform (icims) that lacked the functionality to support a collaborative, candidate experience-driven hiring process. Since switching to Lever, not only have we seen an increase in the number of hiring manager & interviewers using the system, but we've also seen a shift in how we look at candidates in the pipeline.

Pros: functionality to support collaboration, candidate-centric view, excellent built-in reporting, really cool UI.

Cons: I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the ability to load video content into the job descriptions.
