Lever is a best-of-breed applicant tracking system suitable for companies of all sizes. Web-based and available worldwide, Lever features the ability to customize a job site, one-click sourcing, referral links, two-way email sync and more to help streamline recruiting efforts.

The candidate pipeline is customizable and provides insight into where applicants are dropping off in the process, while Gmail and Outlook calendar integration allows for interview scheduling.

Lever also has robust employee referral functionality, including shareable job links for LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter and a Google Chrome extension that allows employees to put a referral in the company pipeline right from their browser.

Reporting and analytics are also available so recruiters can see the return on different source efforts, and Lever allows for customization to build custom reports. Various assignable access levels can ensure that every user only sees what they need to while keeping applicant data confidential.

Product was very, very intuitive - a little bit more than others, actually. Easy to set up and great functionality (like many others, with integrations, email syncs, and critical sharing features to keep hiring managers engaged in the process).

Sales rep tried to go over the buyer's head, trying to circumvent the process - really rubbed leadership the wrong way. No way we were going to buy the product after a poorly-calculated decision like that... Very similar offering to others, but costing was higher and there would be rate increases after first year (whereas others, like Jazz, hold them constant).

Recommendations

Check out integrations - very powerful, but also be aware of the requirements for same before signing. Be wary of price increases after first term!

We are a smaller company with just a couple of people doing recruiting. We wanted something that could be implemented quickly and with ease, was financially valuable and not over-priced, was easy to use, and would allow us to keep track of candidates that prefer to work on contract - so knowing when a candidate's existing contract was up was important. Lever provides all of this.

Using gmail to send multiple resumes to lever that will automatically upload with candidate data. Using the snooze feature, the scheduling feature is very easy to use and when scheduling multiple people, it's even easier.

Recommendations

Walk through your current process and see if the software would enhance your current process to make it faster and easier. Having an easier way to keep track of consultants, and with our recruiting staff being in different states, we wanted to make sure these issues were seamless.

As a former user of Jobvite and most recently ICIMS. My outlook on ATSs before was that they all were the lesser of evils. Most solutions solve a few pain points but leaves you wanting so much more. From Day 1 Lever has changed that POV for me.

The UI is so intuitive. Wherever your brain thinks that a button should be or the next step in a process should be, it is there. The ramp up time for comfortably navigating the product was minimal. This has been great for our recruiting team and even better for our hiring mgrs who are loving working in the new system. It really helps to create a single information hub for all of our hiring.

It has the features I have always wanted from an ATS but never found in 1 solution. Deep reporting that is already built out, customization of templates, integration with LinkedIn to name a few. The Lever team is great about keeping us update on changes coming and listening to our input on features when it comes to product road map.

Their built in reporting is great but it would be great to be able to visualize this information within the platform. Right now you can export data and further visualize beyond just data tables in excel. If there was a future integration with a platform like Tableau, that could offer so really beautiful ways to look at data in a different form than tables.

Recommendations

The best ATS solution is all about understanding what your goals are as a recruiting org. If in-depth reporting, a super intuitive and easy to interact with system for recruiters and hiring mgrs, reasonable pricing & super responsive and personable support are on your list. This is the ATS for you.

I wish that background checks were integrated with the software. I wish it had the ability to have a candidate consent to a background check and interface to submit one as well.

Recommendations

Would also like to see a more visually friendly 'view all' calendar when scheduling.

First off, the customer support is fantastic -- if I send an email, I know I'll get a helpful response within a timely manner. The UI is very user friendly, all features and buttons are where you expect them to be. Very straight forward, easy to use and simply the best!

There is still a bit of work that needs to be done on the job side. Currently, there is not a job approval workflow, but they mentioned it's in their roadmap.

Our team recently switched from a stagnant ATS to Lever and can't say enough positive things. A Recruiter on our team said, "Lever just does everything that your brain think it would do" ...which is why we love it. It's incredibly intuitive, modern, and it's reporting is fantastic. We are able to assess where bottlenecks are happening and it's added a standardization into our interview feedback process like none before. We are all very happy with Lever and continue to share with others how it's made our lives easier.

I can't think of anything. Perhaps having a deeper DocuSign integration, allowing for signatures but nothing major.

Recommendations

Do not be swayed by Greenhouse. We evaluated both and unanimously our team liked Lever more.

Software is excellent and support team has been responsive. The main differentiators for me are the excellent integration with Google Apps and the fact that the back-end db is configured to be candidate-centric rather than job req specific, meaning that candidates can be associated with multiple reqs and can be opened up again if they are a good fit down the road.

Our engineers love the system because it is easy to use and because you can give feedback directly from an email.

Few integrations with HR software (so far). An easier way for recruiting agencies to send candidates into the system.

Recommendations

Get demos from lots of places and ask for trial periods to kick the tires.

It's ease of use, the integration with Zenefits, DocuSign, Google calendar and many other things. The customer support is awesome and responds quickly and always follows up. I can customized my workflow with regard to recruiting.

You get a lot for the price and it's definitely worth every penny. Our company is involved in interviewing as a team and to be able to track comments, notes, feedback and emails and documents makes recruiting fun for everyone. No complaints at all!

Because the platform is so candidate-centric, it's been challenging to pull a few reports we'd like to have, but after asking our Lever Rep about it, we were informed that these needs were in the development stage to be resolved.

Recommendations

Take into consideration the various tools/apps you use (or want to use) and find out if they are integrated with your ATS. This was a major selling piece for us with Lever. Consider the ease-of-use of the product. Does it make your day-to-day work more efficient and productive? Does it help you share information easily and quickly with the necessary stakeholders?
