Paycom is a cloud-based payroll management solution that enables organizations to automate payroll processes. The platform stores all employee-related data in one place and ensures that changes are reflected in real-time across the system. The product also provides an in-person client specialist to each customer who requests help.

Paycom is able to create reports that can be imported to other accounting solutions. The expense management feature automates the expense reimbursement process and defines rules, categories and parameters for employees to monitor claims. Employees can also upload bills related to expenses by using a self-service portal available within the tool.

Paycom is able to debit payroll taxes on time, depositing them on or before due dates and handles all other payroll tax filings. Other features offered by the solution include garnishment management, online payroll processing and payroll analytics. Paycom is ACA compliant and handles all requirements related to 1094 and 1095 reporting.

Don't waste your money

Nothing. I would not recommend this product for any sized business. I cannot think of a positive function.

Cons

It is not user friendly, very old school - manual entry required. Changes made on 1 form that should feed to another do not. Manual and Paycom U do not teach or show everything you need to know. One of the worst payroll/HRIS systems I have ever used. So many malfunctions and finger pointing within the company as to why something failed. We have multiple companies connected and when we make acquisitions they should be setup the same. We have yet to have this happen correctly.

Pros

Paycom is very easy of use for employees' self-service of benefit selection. Employees are able to retrieve paystub and historical tax documents.

Cons

Customer service and issue resolution has been extremely disappointing. File feeds were corrupted and took about 5 months to fix.

Our company implemented Paycom this past summer and it has made a world's difference for our HR department. The integrated onboarding solution alone has saved our HR department countless hours and the other modules we've implemented (i.e. benefits administration) have been great as well. The customer service that Paycom offers has also been impressive and a welcome change from what we were going through with our previous HRIS/payroll provider.

Pros

Customer service is excellent. Modules are customizable and flexible for our business.

Cons

Some modules, performance management, for example, wouldn't work for the way our company does our performance reviews.

Paycom has been great. From the transition from our old processing company to Paycom they have always been willing to help and ensure we have what we need. I think it is essential to have a great payroll specialist after you go live or you can be given the run around about issues.

I had a salesperson who was very caring and he still stops by now and then to check in on me. The transition specialist actually sat with me to process the first payroll in the new system. The only odd thing about Paycom is that there are two log ins for people who supervise others. There is the client (supervisor) username and password and then an employee side username and password. This causes a lot of issues for some reason and I'm constantly resetting passwords for people. There a way just to toggle from one side to the other once you log into one, so I've never had a password issue personally since I log in the same way every time and just toggle to the other side once I'm in the system. Also, rolling over insurance plans is a bit of a pain that you have to go through at the end of each year, but it's necessary for the ACA reporting. Pulling reports in the system is very user friendly.

This is a great alternative to ADP. It offers payroll, benefits, reviews, and covers the spectrum of employment life cycles. Its integration with our benefots administrator is particularly convenient. Starting up we had a fair share of glitches but their team was didoicated and committed to seeing us through to a successful implementation/. We are very pleased with the product and would recommend to other mid sized non-profit organizations.

The Very Worst Platform for Managing Payroll and HRI

I have found Paycom representatives completely apathetic in their approach to customer service. Their lethargic responses (if they bother) to essential concerns and needs related to jurisdictional nuances around pay rules and time keeping is unacceptable. Their inability to customize their system to any jurisdiction outside of Texas (which has the simplest of labor laws) is epic. I wouldn't use them and my company will likely stop using them sooner than later. Lord, hasten the day!!!

None. They make big promises and put in ZERO effort.

Cons

Everything. From their inability to customize according to business needs, to their deplorable customer support.

Switched from ADP to Paycom

We took two years to make a final decision on which payroll service provider we would select next, I cannot tell you how patient and understanding Paycom was. They were not pushy at all and just presented us with the facts.

I have been processing payroll for 22 years and I have to say this was the easiest of the five payroll implementations I have done over the course of my career. Paycom took the driver seat and made this experience way easier than I ever planned or expected, so much to the point we just knew our first payroll would be a failure and bomb out but that couldn't be further from the truth. To our amazement and surprise everything they told us happened just as they said it would. When my team would have meetings to discuss implementation we would say "this just seems to easy" "something must be missing" and my favorite is "just wait until we process our first payroll".

I have now processed three payrolls and they were flawless. Our Transition Specialist was amazing, he was on site for two full days during our first payroll and has been on site at least one day during our other two processing's. I cannot say enough good things about Paycom and the team we have worked with. It is really "live" and all in one system. We were able to replace our Recruiting/Applicant Tracking and Performance Review system in addition to just our HRIS/Payroll System. Now everything is one place. AMAZING.

Like every new system you have to get use to their processes but once you do it is so user friendly and easy to use. Even our employees like Paycom as we are self-service driven.

I strongly recommend Paycom to anyone looking for a Payroll Service Provider.

The only con is learning a new system and having to give up our Transition Specialist and Dedicated Payroll Specialist during the few payrolls. But our permanent team will be just as great!

You have a dedicated client services representative from a local perspective and you have a dedicated client service representative on the platform itself! I feel I have great friends at Paycom! I am one of their biggest fans! Go Paycom!

Everything! They are cusomter focused! They are the most personable vendor I work with! They obviously know what they are doing when they train their representatives!

Cons

Typically the client service reps are so good they end up getting promoted to a management level! That means you have to break in a new rep! It use to bug me but each one is better and better!

Paycom's technology is superior to any other I have had the pleasure of using. The ATS and Talent Management modules are intuitive and simple to use. Talent Management and payroll work together making the review process easier than even when submitting merit increases.

The employee self-service is great as well. All the information is easily accessible. I can view my 401(k) and see what increasing or decreasing any of my benefits would do to my pay.

I have saved so much time and no longer have multiple logins for everything. When I had questions previously, I never spoke to the same person twice and they always had to transfer me when I needed help with different products, but not with Paycom.

I love everything about the system, especially the employee self-service. When my employees need their pay stub or W-2 information, they can access easily. The system is easy to use but packs a punch with its advanced report writer.

As a business I was appalled at there incredible lack of customer service. I attempted to set-up service and submitted all paperwork and paid $200 set-up fee. Then I was e-mailed saying they had decided to require a pre-authorized wire transfer to run my payroll. I did not agree to this new term and they kept my $200 saying it was "non-refundable" even though they never set-up my first payroll. Stay away from this company... they are complete crooks!
