We are a small company, less than ten employees with the intention of someday being bigger. We needed a time and attendance software that allowed remote access, allowed calendar scheduling, analytics, payroll sync, and real time communication on events and expectations. We did not want to spend a lot of money.
Plan day allows us to grow with employees and locations, they charge us monthly by the number of users. We can access all of the features from anywhere using the login console. The Graphics look professional and the staff had very little difficulty getting used to the system.
Local WiFi is recommended, but really, it is essential to experience all of the features.
There is a thirty day free trial, a second month to break it in and review accumulated data would have been helpful before the roll out.

Plan day has allowed me to reduce the time it takes me to create a two week schedule by 2/3rds. It also has reduced the amount of managing the schedule on my end and placed it on the staff.
Saves time, reduces the time need to manage every shift change, vacation requests, and open shift. Makes Staff responsible for their own schedule management. The Punch Clock has also been great to manage when the staff clocks in and out. The BEST support ever!
While working on a schedule the staff can see it in real time and can cause confusion until it is complete. I did submit a request to PLANDAY to have an area to work on the schedule in private then publish it to the staff.

We did the Planday free trial which was great to let us try everything out to make sure it's what we needed. The skill sets lets me find staff replacements with the right skills easily and quickly. Also, their customer service team was always available to help us in setting up and answering any questions right from the start.
Nothing - both the system and customer service are great.
We previously used When I Work but eventually our needs outgrew what it could provide. We tried Planday for free and immediately found it to be better suited for our business' needs - mostly thanks to the skill sets.

The copy schedule function saves me literally hours each week as all I have to do is drag and drop the schedule from one week to the next to copy it, instead of creating it each week as I used to. The punch clock helps me make sure I'm only paying for the hours that are worked. These give me great oversight of my spending. Communicating with my staff with just a few clicks is also useful, especially when I need to tell them about upcoming events or changes.
Can't think of anything. Anytime I have a question, I can contact support and get an answer right away by email, phone or online chat. This is really helpful.
Do the free trial to test it for yourself. You don't need a credit card, like some other providers. If you're not as tech-savvy or don't have lots of time to learn it, you can book a free demo where someone will walk you through it. Definitely always good to try before you buy!
