SmartRecruiters is a Web-based hiring platform designed with the end user in mind. It’s suitable for companies with more than 50 employees in almost any vertical, and since it runs in a browser, it works well on all platforms, including Macs, PCs, iPhone and Android. Applicant tracking and applicant sourcing applications make this a platform for all hiring needs. 

The is interface simple to navigate; it only takes a single click to post a job, apply for a position, review a candidate or remove an applicant from consideration. It offers managers and recruiters a mobile hiring app, with mobile-optimized job postings and career pages.

SmartRecruiter’s social features facilitate collaborative hiring so that users can evaluate, discuss and hire candidates as a team. It features a mobile-ready hiring feed that provides visibility into each stage of the recruiting and hiring process. Users have reported that all this functionality requires little or no training to use.

SmartRecruiters also offers analytics; users can find answers to questions like: What’s my best source of hires? How much is each hire costing my company? What is the quality of the candidates I’m hiring?

I LOVE SmartRecruiters. Never before have I had all my hiring managers and teams truly involved in the recruiting process. No only do our teams use the product they actually like using the product. The real-time collaboration makes decisions quick and seamless. We are also able to tie in all of our assessments, reference checks, and background checks throughout the process. Tired of sending paper offers and having to wait for everyone to scan them? We were too, but SmartRecruiters has an amazing integration with DocuSign. Thank you for finally making a product that works!

Cons

- some ATS elements are missing (follow-up reminders, recruiter love, etc.)
- analytics could be better for recruiter productivity and tracking

I love that it has a free version to aggregate jobs and post on social media. It is easy to use, and easy to use the paid version as well. I highly recommend Smart Recruiters and think it is a Smart Solution.

Wish there were more options for free. they use to have a free Career page for facebook but it is now only with the paid version

SmartRecruiters is very easy to use. Took me very little time to figure out all of the functions and get comfortable with the software.

Pros

Ease of use - pretty interface - it helps to have something nice to look at when you are a recruiter looking at an ATS all day!

Cons

I do not like that notes on candidates are not automatically viewable to all.

Haven't used it for too long but did a trial and it looks great. Very easy to use and work in. Easy to see different notes, contact numbers, resumes, and other information that is beneficial to the hiring process.

Wasn't too much wrong from what I saw. Ran smoothly, easy to look at and navigate through. Could have a few tweaks with inputting information, but nothing too big.

Recommendations

Evaluate other softwares before downing one. You will realize which company offers more for the price, and which ones are the easiest to use.

Very customizable & I like that you can copy reqs for similar job postings. I like the notifications "Bell" icon, letting me know new applicants for my reqs.

It glitches a lot. There have been so many times that I try to update the status of a candidate, along the hiring process, and I cannot. Sometimes I would get a message saying that the candidate no longer existed or it would revert back to a previous status.

Recommendations

Different system work for different people. Smart Recruiters is mainly user friendly, but has a lot of kinks to work out. I would recommend everyone try the system and see if it works for them.

I like that Smart recruiter is simplified and clean in presentation.

In terms of organizing
1) applicants can see where they are in process
2)Filters not appearing correctly and it will not add correct filters for my cities even when I add “my Active” sometimes I can not see my reqs
3) The candidates know where they are in the process. They also know that if I move them over to another rec. I'm not comfortable with this.
4) Sometimes they don't upload everything from the resume, nor even upload the resume at all.
5) Too much notifications. I'm running out of space for my email account.

Recommendations

This software is efficient for companies that require small scale recruiting.

Easy to use interface. Hiring Managers love it. Excellent at posting jobs to multiple boards and locations with a single click. I love the Hire Loop which gives me visibility into all activities on jobs and candidates in one place. I think SmartRecruiters is a great tool. Customer account management and customer support are top-notch. From the Hiring Manager's perspective, it's perfect.

Difficult setup for 3rd-party recruiters. Difficult getting any kind of data from the tool although I know this is being worked on. Offer Approvals, system emails, and administrative setup. Can only opt-out of emails at a high level, so if on a hiring team, you get emails for all jobs or none.

Recommendations

Think long and hard about your 3rd party recruiters. If you use a number of them and seemingly add more regularly, be prepared to have to wait some time from invitation to being able to assign them jobs.

It's all about your company and culture and fit. This is a great tool for organizations that don't have a ton of process around it and allow their hiring managers to run the show.

Easily pushes job to external job postings sites and lets you track where your hires come from. Also, great mobile platform and great price as well for what you get.

The software is pretty but unfortunately won't work for a third party staffing firm/recruiter since you can't send resumes to other people through the system.

Recommendations

If you're a corporate recruiter who needs easy access to job posting platforms all on one site, it is great. But, if you need to send resumes to people outside the system (like clients), then it won't work unfortunately.

The SmartRecruiters platform is seamless. I love that I can create a job posting and post it to a host of job boards, then pay for it in one simple step. SmartRecruiters will also post the job on a host of free sites. Our hiring Managers can access the system easily with minimal training. Candidates can apply quickly via their mobile devices and it is simple which attracts more candidates. If I ever have a question, their priority support responds immediately and resolves any issues. Bottom line is SmartRecruiters saves me time and money and makes my job easier.

Nothing. The team at SR listen to my needs as a customer and work to give a solution for all customers. The system has only been even more perfected over time.

Recommendations

I recommend every Recruiter or HR person seeking a way to attract candidates, give SmartRecruiters a try. You will attract candidates and have everything organized. Communicating with those candidates and tracking them is streamlined, allowing you to move onto other tasks at hand. Plus the bottom line to every organization is saving money, and using the SmartRecruiters system will do that for you.

Ease of use as a hiring manager/interviewer. UI is nice. Great for keeping all candidates in one place.

Oversold. Reporting and Analytics are terrible at best. We have been waiting for improvements in this area for 6 months. Features are delivered with little communication. Managing external recruiters is PAINFUL. Admin/HR side is inadequate. Tracking, monitoring, reporting, all are significantly lacking.

We have been promised improvements since we purchased the software and have seen some, but it's taking far too long at a far too critical hiring time in our organization.

Recommendations

SmartRecruiters is best suited to very small organizations who do not use Recruiters often or only use a few. If you need intuitive reporting capabilities, this may not work for you.

It's a free tool and is simplified. The best part is the social media that you are able to post jobs to in one click. Older ATSs do not have that option.

I've been using since 2009 and they have made several changes since. The flow is starting to look cluttered.

Recommendations

Make sure it fits your business needs. If you are a recruiting firm, you would be looking for more add-ons. However, with the paid service, you are able to customize all of it.

Leaving. The struggle was we purchased a system intended for internal recruiters of an organization. We were external recruiting group, so the system did not work.

Likes Least

We were oversold - the software may work for internal Recruiters, but it doesn't work for Staffing or external recruiters. We could not set up a client without there system "inviting" the client to participate. We were unable to send resumes through the system. Instead we were instructed to send it via email. How would we track our resume submission? There's no resume parsing from an email. It's not so Smart

If your an external Recruiter or Staffing Firm, this software won't work for you.

When the sales team contacted me they were helpful and not sales-y. When we went through the demo, I saw exactly the features that I was looking for in an ATS.

I'm very disappointed in Smartrecruiters.com. We have been using the system for 5 months now with our 76 person team. We have spent countless hours uploading information for our team and over 1,000 candidate's information is gone. We woke up this morning to having our entire team being on the standard program and over 300 job orders/1,000 candidates were deleted without any notice at all.

Recommendations

Contact the company that you are working for before deleting countless hours of work.

It's easy to use and isn't too bloated. It's online, so it requires no installation or support. It's cheap compared to equivalent products.

The country and city selection is a bit weird. Some cities are not relevant if the country is small (like Malta).

Recommendations
