Softworks Software

Established in 1990, Softworks leverages years of experience to deliver powerful workforce management solutions. Focusing on time & attendance, employee scheduling and absence management. Softworks was designed to meet common challenges across all industries. By improving the management of time & attendance and scheduling, companies can streamline their workflow and increase productivity.

At the core of Softworks is their time and attendance application. It can be used in tandem with other HR systems or standalone to track employee time & attendance information, employment history, and skills. Their reporting tools can expand to include 200 additional user-defined fields. Softworks reduces administrative tasks and saves time by eliminating double-entry.

Softworks’ time & attendance module is easy to use and accounts for all of an organization’s rules and work practices. Their intuitive dashboards give management a better idea of employee time with KPI’s, alerts, and reports to track attendance, overtime, vacation, and more. Softworks ensures compliance and guarantees security. It integrates with most HR and payroll systems.

Softworks offers multiple scheduling tools from their Schedule Manager to their Schedule Optimizer. All will align labor with forecasted demand, so it works well for seasonal and part-time staff. Softworks eliminates common errors that can occur in paper-based schedules.

We’ve found Softworks to be a great fit for mid-sized companies, especially those in banking, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Their workforce management software helps companies keep better track over their employees information and time. Softworks offers multiple methods of deployment, giving companies the opportunity to choose what best fits their needs.

I find the overall experience of working with softworks very good and their support team are second to none. There is a big fall out when you move from dealing with the developers on to the support team which can be expected.

Pros

Visually Clear, ESS Very self explanatory. Good support team, very efficient, friendly. Calls always returned promptly.

Cons

A lot of hard work gets undone when upgrades are done that you are not aware of before the upgrade. There are always advantages and these are sold well but nobody comes out and advises of the disadvantages (facilities that are lost that were in an earlier version) I have asked previously for the pros and cons to be listed out to allow the end user to have the knowledge of what negative possibilities there would be. It would save a lot of time for the end user and also the support desk as softworks from helping the end users with the same issues repeating time and time again.

Support although rarely needed is generally very good.
Would like to have the opportunity to look further into what the system can do for the business but do not have the time

Pros

It rarely gives us any problems. Set- up and disabling of new employees very easy, could be improved by verification of unique record before the end of the process.

Cons

Due to lack of usage, no longer familiar with the set-up or configuration. Therefore so any desired modifications tend not to get implemented.

We have spoken to our account Manager who came to see us in December but has not kept in touch to see if any of these issues were resolved. Overall, the service provided is not fantastic which is why we are thinking of leaving Softworks.

Pros

Easy to use for employees.

Cons

- Difficult to report
- Bugs in the system that does not show bank holidays for some the employees.
- New starters cannot always log in straight away.
-Sometimes Employees who are not in do not show up as AWOL.
- Some employees who are working part- time their clockcards do not calculate the correct hours they work.
- When Windows asks the employee to reset the password, they are unable to log into Softworks for a couple of days.

Pros

The employee self service is very easy for our employees to use and navigate and has allowed us to move away from a paper based system.

Cons

The connection with configuration and clockwise is often difficult and I find the set up of alerts, and holiday requests quite tricky.
