JazzHR is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applicant tracking system. Founded in 2009, JazzHR provides recruiting and hiring software accessible to businesses of all sizes.

JazzHR’s sourcing tools enable users to post jobs, mirror any internal approval processes and syndicate jobs to numerous free and paid job boards from one spot. Users can list jobs on a hosted careers page, add jobs to the company’s careers site or build a custom careers page from within JazzHR.

Features include sourcing and applicant tracking. Users can also manage the entire interview process within the portal, create and send out offers and onboarding paperwork, and set up customizable reporting.

JazzHR also has tools for social recruiting and employee referrals which includes sharing jobs, requesting referrals and tracking applicant sources.

Very pleased with the choice to use JazzHR and hope to spend more time using it to its full extent.

Pros

I feel like they really try to save time for the recruiter and thought of things one step ahead. There are many capabilities that I haven't started to use yet but have been shown them. They have lots of tutorials and their customer support is very responsive.

Cons

I'd like to be able to upload many resumes with one quick move but don't believe there is a mechanism to do that

JazzHR exceeded our expectations in every respect. User interface is intuitive and well thought out which made it easy to get our 1st hiring project live within hours of activation. Functionality of JazzHR rivals that of well known enterprise ATS platforms. The success team has been very proactive and helpful when assistance was needed. JazzHR offers a wealth of live and on demand training webinars for the systems more advanced functions and integrations.
Most valuable feature: JazzHR’s frictionless one click apply experience improved our overall click to apply ratio which ultimately maximized results with job board syndication and CPC media placements.

Pros

(1) Robust tools in a simple UI
(2) Automation and Pre-Screening Capabilities. (Improve applicant experience and reduces phone screen cost/time
(3) One Click Apply (Improved our click to apply ratio which ultimately maximizes CPC spend when applicable)

Cons

One minor annoyance: When placing jobs into a "closed" status the default message an applicant sees when clicking on a link for that job reads as "Hiring for this position has been put on hold at this time." - For our purposes there is a difference between an "On Hold" job and a "Closed Job". Work Around; Deleting or moving a job to "filled" status does appropriately close out the job - but there are times when we close a job without it being filled for one reason or another and may not wish to delete the job while we explore alternatives for any applicants in the queue.

As the only Recruiter for a fast growing start-up, Jazz has been an extremely valuable tool in our organization. I'm able to post all of our openings across the web, track candidates, generate offer letters, and create detailed reports all through the tool. If you use LikedIn Recruiter, Jazz is the perfect ATS since it fully integrates with LikedIn's API. Overall, the software is very easy to use and makes collaborating with hiring managers a piece of cake. It's also very affordable.

I have been trying to find a software program which will work for me, but unfortunately, this is not it. This is a great program but just doesn't work well in the manufacturing business. It feels like it is geared more towards professional applicants, rather than trade workers. We have a small manufacturing company, with a limited number of workers and limited turnover. The software almost makes the recruiting and hiring of new employees harder, rather than easier. Make sure you need software to help in the hiring process, before spending money. I'm not taking anything away from this software at all. Overall it is a great product but simply doesn't work well in my position.

Pros

The software offers great tracking capabilities along with ease of monitoring job postings and the output you get from the different postings.

Cons

In a small trade business, without a lot of turnovers, the software almost gets in the way of the hiring process. We are looking for a specific set of skills, but those skills don't always transfer to a resume or interview. We need more hands on pre-employment testing, rather than interviewing and tracking of candidates.

Advice to Others

Evaluate your needs as a company, as well as your turnover rate. If you have a low turnover and a small business, you may be better off without software. If you are a large, professional type business, this software may be just what you are looking for.

The E-sign paperwork is a bit cumbersome. You cannot add sheets once it is built.

JazzHR is very intuitive, it's easy to use, it does a great job parsing, it offers e-signatures, and makes on-boarding very easy. It has a nice, clean interface, and the buttons are in places that seem familiar. The staff is very friendly and supportive. Sometimes there are self-help options only. I've had a lot of trouble getting my outlook and calendar to sync since we use Office365. Our IT team has needed to get involved as well. My big gripe is that they don't have to report for activity in "Discussions". Since I source most of my candidates proactively without waiting for them to apply, I depend heavily on keeping good notes and need to be able to run reports for the profiles I last opened or notes I last made-- or made within a specified time frame. Unfortunately, I can't do that and it's been a major drawback since that wasn't clear early on. They do have a feature request function though, and I have requested that functionality. We'll see what happens. It is also not as customizable as I was told. I rely on the phone, not email. I quite often only have a phone number as well since I don't bother storing work emails for passive candidates. This is a problem because Jazz uses email as the primary means of sorting candidates and mandates email be put into their profile.

Customer service is excellent, and I have never had to wait long to get an answer to a question, and they have a number of tools to help automate process steps and filter candidates. An Incredible Time Saver

Our company has been using the Jazz ATS since around April of this year and the amount of time it has saved is unbelievable. We went from listing job ads manually on multiple websites to having Jazz list them for us and maintain the tracking of views and traffic. Before we would need to sift through hundreds of emails and then opening each attachment to view the resumes, call the applicant, bring them into the office to fill out the application and start the process there. Now, applicants complete the application when they send us their resume. It is all located in an easy to search application and the whole hiring team can look at the resumes instead of one person checking their email and printing the resumes for others to look at. I 100% recommend the Jazz ATS to any business. Our business is a smallish 120 employee establishment but since we are a sales company, we hire sales reps in batches of 10-20 several times a year. Having the Jazz ATS has make the hiring process so much smoother.

Pros

Easy to search applicants, All applicants in one location, Tasks/notes can be sent to individual members of the hiring team or the group as a whole, too many other things to mention.

Cons

The "Help" FAQ section is a little messy at times when you don't know the exact words to search for while you are learning the system but they do provide multiple training sessions for anyone who will be using the program.

Advice to Others

Do it. If not the Jazz ATS, get another one. It will save an incredible amount of time and headaches when hiring.

Cons

Only con I can think off is wishing that for months you did not need Jazz that it could be put on "hold" without being charged. With the current model you have to pay for the entire year.

We started using Jazz before it was called Jazz and I haven't been able to offer any suggestions for improvements because they always beat me to it! They're constantly adding new features without disrupting the basic way it works which means I don't have to change the way I work until I have time to check out the improvements. The only change I wasn't thrilled with was the name change - I like the name "Resumator" better - :-). I often get calls from other ATS providers, but after I watch their demonstrations I have to tell them that they don't offer anything better than Jazz.

Jazz makes recruiting easy - from storing candidates' information to providing workflow options and even varying user access levels to work with internal and external parties as needed. It's easy to communicate back and forth with the interviewing team through the app, and I can't recommend it more highly to anyone considering using the program--particularly with a high volume of open positions to manage.

Pros

Love all of the options from user access levels to detailed data available on candidates and job profiles.

Cons

Wish some parts were more intuitive--there's a lot of loops within Jazz itself...for example, a note someone makes on a task is hard to find again or isn't easily shared with other co-workers within the app. You really have to use the program often, and play around with buttons to understand all that's available to you within the app rather than some of it being more intuitive--particularly for coworkers new to the recruiting process jumping in on say one candidate's workflow.

I have used Jazz (formally the Resumator) for the last 3 years and enjoy how easy it is to use and how it integrates with other software that our team also utilizes (Sparkhire and Namely specifically). Also, it is easy to share information with the hiring manager and communicate with candidates.

Pros

Ease of use increases communication with hiring managers, access to templates, provides a clear view of the candidates that are in process.

Cons

The software is robust, but you may not necessarily need to use all the features.

Advice to Others

I would advise looking at the features and seeing what you need for your recruiting platform. The pricing structure works off of the various features that you would have access to, so verify that you need those features before you pay for them.

They have a very small HR staff, so the Job Posting functionality -- just a click to post to a multitude of external boards (free and subscription types) -- was an immediate value. It's relatively easy to get rolling, but a Recruiting/HR team will need to have good processes already in place to create the Workflow functions; they are very flexible, but need some discipline to initially set up and try them. The number and type of Candidate data fields is also a huge plus -- you can track the 'basics' or dive deep into specific areas via the Questionnaires and Application features. However, issues with the Outlook Calendar integration feature (would be great for scheduling interviews) caused this particular company to turn that feature 'off' until Jazz can make some improvements. Their service and tech support are both readily available and very responsive.

I have been a Jazz user for the past 2.5 years. By far the best and easiest ATS to work with from Day 1. No need to have a pricey consultant come in and do the set up and training, no need to waste time in long and boring training classes, very easy to use and navigate and using additional features on the Administration side are very easy to pick up and learn. The reporting feature is straight forward. It gives you reports that you need and if need to download them just export to CSV and make your pivot tables etc. New features are constantly being rolled out and implemented which other companies would make you pay for the added functionality, not Jazz they provide the new features for free or in some cases where it is a 3rd party application they may charge a nominal fee. Scheduling interviews is a breeze.

I will start off with saying we had an AWFUL ATS which I will not name. I started looking for a replacement and stumbled across Jazz (The Resumator at the time). It was too good to be true! Jazz provides everything we need. Helps our staff stay organized and is very user friendly. And the customer service cannot be beat! They are a fun company with lots of energy, you can tell by the survey's they send out among other correspondence with fun jokes.

Pros

User Friendly, great reporting, a huge time saver for us.

Cons

They make a lot of changes. In my opinion this is a good thing but some users who are not as tech savvy may not like it.

Before signing on with Jazz I was concerned that this software could not possibly be as easy to use as the demo showed. Well....it is!! I have not had one complaint from my staff. We came from an ATS that was very difficult to use and had horrible customer service so after that experience, Jazz is the best! The Jazz team has the best customer service and tech support. If you have any issue they will jump right on it and work with you until you find a resolution that fits your needs. They also offer a lot of webinars which have been very useful.

No cons....this ATS is the BEST!! (and no I don't work for Jazz) It is just that AWESOME!

Advice to Others

Sit through a demo and ask as many questions as you want. It took me a month to decide and sat through a few demos. It was a very big decision to switch from our former ATS and it was the best decision we could have made.
