JazzHR is very intuitive, it's easy to use, it does a great job parsing, it offers e-signatures, and makes on-boarding very easy. It has a nice, clean interface, and the buttons are in places that seem familiar. The staff is very friendly and supportive. Sometimes there are self-help options only. I've had a lot of trouble getting my outlook and calendar to sync since we use Office365. Our IT team has needed to get involved as well. My big gripe is that they don't have to report for activity in "Discussions". Since I source most of my candidates proactively without waiting for them to apply, I depend heavily on keeping good notes and need to be able to run reports for the profiles I last opened or notes I last made-- or made within a specified time frame. Unfortunately, I can't do that and it's been a major drawback since that wasn't clear early on. They do have a feature request function though, and I have requested that functionality. We'll see what happens. It is also not as customizable as I was told. I rely on the phone, not email. I quite often only have a phone number as well since I don't bother storing work emails for passive candidates. This is a problem because Jazz uses email as the primary means of sorting candidates and mandates email be put into their profile.

Pros

- easy to use
- friendly staff
- Great UI
- Great parsing of resumes
- Easy to upload candidates and automate processes
- eSignatures are easy and store in candidate profiles

Cons

- Lots of self-help troubleshooting
- Trouble for connecting to legacy systems (could be our fault)
- Can't run reports for activity from previous day
- Reports seem basic
- Not customizable in the candidate profile layout or required fields

Advice to Others

This is a good product that is tough to beat for its price, even with its shortcomings.

After trialling a number of different recruitment softwares, it seemed that many softwares were missing something, or we would be trying to force fit our processes into a software. Jazz was a game changer. Their team made the onboarding process so simple, and we were up and running and fully trained on the software within hours.

Lots of help documentation and webinars.

Cons

The calendar integrates with our Google calendar easily enough, but wish it could be more interactive with the applicants.

Our company has been using the Jazz ATS since around April of this year and the amount of time it has saved is unbelievable. We went from listing job ads manually on multiple websites to having Jazz list them for us and maintain the tracking of views and traffic. Before we would need to sift through hundreds of emails and then opening each attachment to view the resumes, call the applicant, bring them into the office to fill out the application and start the process there. Now, applicants complete the application when they send us their resume. It is all located in an easy to search application and the whole hiring team can look at the resumes instead of one person checking their email and printing the resumes for others to look at. I 100% recommend the Jazz ATS to any business. Our business is a smallish 120 employee establishment but since we are a sales company, we hire sales reps in batches of 10-20 several times a year. Having the Jazz ATS has make the hiring process so much smoother.

Pros

Easy to search applicants, All applicants in one location, Tasks/notes can be sent to individual members of the hiring team or the group as a whole, too many other things to mention.

Cons

The "Help" FAQ section is a little messy at times when you don't know the exact words to search for while you are learning the system but they do provide multiple training sessions for anyone who will be using the program.

Advice to Others

Do it. If not the Jazz ATS, get another one. It will save an incredible amount of time and headaches when hiring.

I'm probably the worst person to write a review. I come from a company that had a proprietary system that I believe was far Superior to Jazz. Its a decent system, but I'm just not all that impressed.

Pros

It does give you access to Indeed for free.
There is some automated options.
Syncs with email and calendar.

Cons

Jobs can only be refreshed every 90 days. For high volume roles, that means you have to create a new post every two weeks to remain on page one of Job Boards.
Any emails sent cannot be viewed from your email. Each time I want to respond, I have to log into Jazz.

Advice to Others

There are better options out there, but its probably at double the price.

We just completed our first hiring process using Jazz and are extremely pleased. Whenever I think of something I want or want to do, Jazz has exactly the feature I'm looking for (and then some) and it's easy to use on top of it. As a nonprofit this is the first time we invested in HR software like this but it is clear the time, energy and resources that went into developing this software. Whenever I do have a question it gets answered by the support team that same day.

Pros

easy to use, intuitive, robust, very customizable, comprehensive without it being overly dense (lots of features and I use every one of them), a very stable platform (have had no technical issues)

Cons

nothing really, it's expensive for our organization (a relatively small nonprofit) but the price is consistent with the quality and even for our relatively small number of hires it has saved a lot of time and headache. Totally worth it.

Advice to Others

Test the software on a hiring process that is not rushed if at all possible. It will allow you to take your time and take advantage of the webinars, calls with their support team, links and other resources, and to play around with the features and customizations.

Our company implemented the use of Jazz in early 2016. Recruiting has become much more efficient since we began using Jazz. Our users are able to quickly learn how to use Jazz and see the benefits of having all of our recruiting data stored in one place.

Pros

Jazz is VERY user friendly! Jazz is also great for "housing" all of our recruiting information. Prior to using Jazz, our company was utilizing Excel spreadsheets to track candidates. The thought of building a funnel using the Excel spreadsheets was just a dream... and then we were introduced to Jazz. Our hiring managers now have the ability to build a funnel of candidates for future openings! Another benefit to Jazz is that candidates do not get "lost". We are able to follow-up with all candidates so that nobody is left wondering where they are in the interview process.

Cons

The only con that I can think of is that our company didn't implement Jazz sooner!

I've been using Jazz for about a month now, and there are some good things, and some bad things. Overall, for the size of our company, I think its a decent product with a lot of useful capabilities.

Pros

Task
Automated Emails
Scheduling capabilities for Emails and Interviews
User Friendly

Cons

Customer Service doesn't provide a number to call
There are no options to send text reminders
Emails sent through Jazz aren't shown in your Outlook Outbox
The only major free job board is Indeed
I wish there was a way to access everything about candidates on one page for a quick snap shot.

I've been using this ATS for 3 years spanning the name change from The Resumator to Jazz and have seen multiple feature/function changes. It is certainly a lower cost alternative and a reasonable solution for a smaller, low recruiting volume, domestic company. While it is somewhat more reliable than when we started to use it, I have found it to be incredibly unreliable. Features and functions change frequently, sometimes with no notice - though they have gotten better about this. Batch functionality is weak and usually requires multiple steps often requires redundant actions. Search functionality has improved but still is limited and unreliable. For instance - though we have accumulated a large database over the past three years - a key- word search is hit or miss at best. There have been times that emails to candidates were never delivered, test emails revealed that tokens were not working, and a much higher frequency of errors/error messages occur than with other applications.

Pros

Cost

Cons

Highly unreliable
Weak search capability
Weak batch processing
Multi-step processes with much redundancy
Product changes that undo prior more effective process flows

Jazz formerly known as The Resumator is easy, no frills and their customer service is responsive in a timely manner. Jazz does it all in handling job postings, applicant status, resume management, eSignature, etc. For the cost you can not go wrong for what you need. Other systems are very costly in price and we find with Jazz it gives us everything we need to do job postings, review candidates, hire and keep track of resumes to build up our pipeline. I still like the name The Resumator oppose to Jazz.

Pros

Almost everything it has to offer and more. Use of templates, automatic emails to candidates, managing who can view resumes, track and search.

Cons

Loading and downloading can take sometime but it may be the website.

Advice to Others

Try it! I've recommended this to others and they love the price and features.

Our company has been using Jazz for about 8 months now - the demo and implementation process was very smooth and the Jazz representatives were informative without being pushy (which I really appreciated throughout my ATS search). Implementation was a breeze, we had a lot of specialists helping us understand workflows of everything. One thing I also loved was that they followed up with us and allowed for constructive feedback.

Pros

Great implementation specialists, easy to understand workflows

Cons

Wish some stages of the workflow could be more detailed, often times Jazz will have errors (not sure if that's because of Jazz or because of our tech team working on our website)
