Wagepoint is an easy to use, intuitive, web-based payroll system, ideal for small businesses seeking to pay their employees or contractors while remaining compliant with IRS regulations. The website is very easy to use both as administrator and an employee. I've used other payroll companies (Payworks & Ceridian) both as an administrator and an employee and found this very user friendly compared to other sites. Everything is very straightforward, explanatory and easy to find.

I have no complaints about Wagepoint to date. Everything on their website is very user friendly and easy to find. I haven't had to use customer service yet for anything however our administrator has and I know he's said they have been incredibly helpful any time he has required any help or had questions.

Recommendations

Definitely compare it to other software you've used whether it is as an administrator or an employee. It's hard to evaluate if you haven't compared to any other software.

They respond to email questions *immediately* - an absolute treat to deal with. I never have to wait long for an answer (like, a couple hours at MOST), and they're more interested in making sure that they've solved your problem and you're satisfied than just "getting rid of you".

Likes Least

Sometimes if you wait till the last moment to process your payroll their servers are busy, but it doesn't happen often.

Recommendations

Ask some test questions to see how long they take to respond. Wagepoint has set the bar VERY high - you actually deal with one specific person on your question instead of getting shunted around from one generic call centre person to another (I'm looking at you, ADP).

The software is easy to use, but having someone as knowledgeable and approachable as Darlene supporting it makes all of the difference. Of all of our Firm's vendors, I know I can count on Wagepoint support/Darlene to quickly and painlessly help us solve our issues.

Cons

Wagepoint needs to add an automatic e-mail function that advises the user they have successfully submitted payroll (yes, there is a screen that appears immediately after submission, but it would be better if there was an e-mail for my records confirming that you have received my request to process payroll).

We have been with Wagepoint for almost 3 years now. There are a couple of features that I would like to see added, but otherwise the UI and functionality are quite good. The thing that really sets Wagepoint apart is their customer service. I am always impressed by their attentiveness, accessibility and ability to fix all of my problems!

Pros

The customer service and the intuitive UI. I also really appreciate the reminder emails.

Cons

I would like the software to pro-rate pay if I have a new employee starting mid pay period. I would also appreciate the option to rollback the payroll if I catch an error (however, their CS can do that for you if you ask!).

I have used several payroll providers, and so far, Wagepoint is the best. The user interface is extremely user friendly, and training my clients to process their own payroll is a breeze. The customer service too is amazing. Each time I have a question and I email support, someone gets back to me almost immediately.

I would like to see monthly DAS remittances made to the CRA & Revenu Quebec. Right now, I see a report which shows CRA amount payable per payroll, but it would be nice to see per remittance.
Would also be nice to see the Quebec remittances.

Have used Wagepoint for about 3 years and have only had 3 or 4 instances when I needed any assistance. Each time they solved my issue in a super prompt and friendly manner. I have had previous experience with a different major payroll service provider and they are not even in the same league as Wagepoint when it comes to Customer Service.

Pros

Website is very friendly; easy to learn, easy to use and an average payroll requires very little time to complete. We don't even have to distribute paystubs. Wagepoint does that for us by providing each employees with online access to all their personal information.

Cons

Nothing is perfect but I can't think of any suggestions for improvement

We've switched over to Wagepoint this year and are very happy with the service. The platform seems to be missing some features that the dev teams are adding, but the bulk of the system is there already. Customer support is top notch and fees are affordable. Really looking forward to seeing how it matures.

Pros

Easy to use, quick to setup, makes payroll painless and offers features that are quite useful (reverse net salary calculators, things like that)

Cons

It is missing some accounting features that would be extremely helpful for small businesses moving to their platform. Things like tracking banked vacation (and how much has been spent to date) on salary wages, and a wizard for configuring year-to-date amounts when migrating from another payroll system in the middle of a year. You can do these things but it requires correspondence with customer support to have them manually fix them for you. I am told that their dev team is working on solutions already though, so pretty soon we should have this functionality.
