Workforce Ready by Kronos is a human resources (HR) platform that offers enterprise-class human capital management (HCM capabilities).

This cloud-based solution incorporates recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation planning, time and attendance, scheduling, absence management, payroll and more.

Workforce Ready provides a single employee record shared across all applications. This means that all employee data is maintained in a singledatabase, with a single user interface to pull reports and launch workflows for the entire organization.

Data is updated in real time, so managers can make decisions based on the latest, most accurate information. Workforce Ready also includes a mobile application at no additional cost.

Users can decide to start with a single module or the entire suite.

I used Kronos particularly for our payroll and time keeping purposes at one of my previous companies. It was a great tool to use for payroll and time keeping needs and with the size of our organization (~250+), it was perfect for our needs.One of the unique features is the ease of use and navigating through the system. It was very self explanatory and very customizable.

Alot of issues with program error and functionality with some of our other HR softwares

Advice to Others

I certainly recommend this software, but first make sure if you have other softwares you plan on using, ensure it is fully compatible with Kronos.

I felt that the correspondence with the Kronos reps were very responsive. Scheduling was a little difficult with a few communication errors dealing mostly with time zones. The program itself is very comprehensive and with our particular business model, it was wonderful to find these options. We have mostly subcontractors and we need a program for participants who would not be active all of the time.

Pros

The reputation of this product is quite true. Professional platform with a variety of offerings for most industries. Very customizable and can grow with the company. The demo was very comprehensive.

Cons

I haven't seen any cons with anyone using this product.

Advice to Others

Know if you need a cloud or in house program first and they will take it from there.

Kronos has been great, a few glitches here and there with the timekeeping but it was fixed very kickly.

Pros

Timekeeping and vacation requesting. Simple to use.

Cons

Glitches has caused payroll to be postponed. Posting corporate documents have not been easy to do.

Advice to Others

This is definitely great for someone that is looking for a time keeping tool and an easy database to have current information.

We demo'ed more systems than I could count in looking at the best choice for us. We narrowed it down to two and then took a very measured, thorough approach in our final analysis. WFR truly had the best "bang for the buck" of any system. The time-tested reliability of a Kronos product couldn't be ignored and the cost versus gained efficiency was undeniable. These characteristics also made the internal approval for the project very straight forward.

Pros

The system can support multiple, complex needs. The breadth and diversity of Kronos customers means they're already prepared for a lot of the needs we throw at them. This greatly eases our work in adapting and streamlining processes. The mobile platform is as good as any I've seen and the system's integration across modules is second to none.

Cons

Some administrative functions are not as intuitive as I'd like and I think the general navigation layout could be better designed. The function itself is sound but the execution of the function takes some learning.

Advice to Others

There may be better products but only at a much higher cost that I don't think can be justified in an ROI measurement.

Recommendations

Evaluate your needs and ensure the software covers. Reporting, tracking and data mining are difficult if your system does not support well.

I can't think of any attribute of the Workforce Ready product that I particularly like. My experience with Kronos is that they produce good time and attendance software, but I personally have not seen any evidence that they have any expertise producing HRIS software.

The Kronos Workforce Ready product reminds me of an old fashioned data processing program from 20 years ago. It is not at all user friendly or intuitive. I have used it daily for one year and still am frequently puzzled by the way it is organized (or disorganized). I spend significant time searching for the information I want. Incredibly, the turnover calculation function has not worked correctly for the two years my company has owned the Workforce Ready product. Kronos has known all this time that their turnover function is flawed, but I don't think it is corrected yet; it doesn't appear to be fixed to me. Producing reports from Workforce Ready is cumbersome. The user must pick the data elements for the report from very long lists of fields that truly appear to me to be in no logical order whatsoever. I know that sounds hard to believe, but if there is some logic to the lists of fields, I have yet to understand it. The training information provided by Kronos to teach the user to use Workforce Ready is mostly written documents rather than videos. I personally find videos easier to understand, but Kronos offers only a handful of them. There are many topics I would like to learn about that are not covered at all in any of Kronos' training materials.

Recommendations

I cannot recommend Kronos Workforce Ready. It is too expensive. It is very old fashioned. It is not user friendly. It is hard to learn to use. It is a very minimal system.

All of your needs are met with one solution. No need to implement multiple solutions and spend time updating the same data across all the platforms. It is integrated and provides one comprehensive employee lifecyle record.

Graphical Dashboards - Getting data out is easy, but if you want to drive people, especially Executives to the solution, present the data in graphs and trends that are easy to take action against.

Recommendations

Take the time to understand your most critical needs first and find a solution that will solve that problem first. Ours was better labor management.

Kronos Workforce Ready is a truly customizable product, with very robust, customizable reporting tools and good payroll optimization. For mid-sized enterprises it is a solid, cloud-based all-in-one option. ACA reporting tool is great. Flexibility of tools is something we hope our managers and employees will grow into as they become accustomed to non-paper-based payroll.

Recruitment module and payroll module have weird glitches with tax, unemployment and workers' comp settings that make automation a little hit or miss with the forms; cost center editing is complicated. Global Support folks are very nice, but the depth of bench can vary, so if you find someone you like working with, try to stick with them as much as possible. Basic scheduling (without Scheduler module) is not useful.

Recommendations

Know what you want in advance, and really do a detailed discovery process in terms of the reports you want, the format for your display(s), and how you want your different levels of users to be involved in the ultimate implementation. Because nothing about the product is turn-key, you want to really build it out in advance, because rebuilding post-implementation can be painful. You do need to know what you want because if you build it wrong it becomes hard to re-do.

Kronos WFR has done a good job with integrating HR, Pay, and Time & attendance along with several other options. This cloud based solution has really eased the pain of upgrades, patches, and legislative updates. The real time updates and enhancements are a good savings of time and upgrade cost.
The reporting functions in WFR is very flexible and easy to use.
Navigation is straight forward

The configuration process for us was a challenge coming from WFC to WFR. The discovery process seems straight forward but how that is interpreted and configured doesn't always translate into what you may want to see. This product is very flexible in configuration of pay and time sheets so it is important you spend extra time really digging into how you want your environment configured. Knowledge transfer from the install group is key.

Recommendations

Really spend time getting demos and doing a good comparison of how you current policies/procedures will be configured in WFR. If coming from WFC to WFR get a delta comparison from sales team on terminology since things are named different.

I like that everything is integrated into Kronos Workforce Ready and I don't need to use multiple softwares.
I like that they provide training videos to match each individual's role using Kronos.

I dislike the lack of communication between the project team.
I waited days for an answer on multiple occasions while being charged for the product.
At first I was given a product that I did not agree to with the Account Manager.
I was suppose to launch in May 2015 now I am expected to launch September 2015 4 whole months later.

Recommendations

Make sure you are clear about what you are looking for.
Keep all emails exchanged with your account manager do not verbally agree to anything have everything documented and recorded.

Recommendations

Kronos is the one that will take you to the next level. Will give your employees control over their own time and pay information, and give you a portal to connect to them. With the in-app announcements, we even post our Employee Newsletter online in Kronos.
