Zoho People is Web-based integrated human resources (HR) solution suitable for business of all sizes. The system features leave management, attendance management, time tracker, employee self-service, form customization and more.

With the system's leave management feature, organizations can customize leave types and employees can apply for leave online. Organizations can also have a centralized view of all the employee information by leave type, location, role and experience level.

Zoho People provides the facility of creating custom modules by adding forms and tabs based on needs. It also offers drag and drop functionality.

Using the employee self-service feature, employees can access, update and modify their own record as per the organizational compliance. The File Cabinet feature helps HR staff securely store and share HR and company-related documents.

Zoho People’s live feed notify employees about changes of policy and other important notifications.

Decent product; Poor customer support

Pros

Nice functionalities, such as intuitive leave calculation by employee start date, forms customization, and field-level permission. Having a mobile app is also very convenient.

Cons

Having a chat functionality for customer support is a great idea and being able to leave offline messages for support to get back to is also good. However, in general, customer support is very bad:
1. Very slow response time. I was so disappointed after buying the product because after receiving an email to say that a training will be scheduled, no one initiated contact with me after that for almost a week. Even following up myself and even calling the hotline, it took many many days before I was contacted about it.
2. Poor English comprehension of the customer support, especially through verbal communication. A short conversation would have been possible if the original question was properly understood, to which the answer is "No such functionality."
3. Lack of familiarization with the product. Simple questions were not answered on the spot (thru chat) and a lot of verification needs to be done on whether or not a functionality exists. Even after much verification, I was told that it can be done and a call was scheduled to walk me through, but after another lengthy discussion turns out there's no such functionality.

Many things to do in Zoho People. Especially the processes are a great feature. Also the video tutorials helped a lot to get a first view about that piece of software.

Cons

Not everything in native language. Many words are on one site in english and the same word is on the same page still in english. Not a big problem, but it looks not so great.

We are a small organisation that got tired with all the people managing software and their inefficient service. finally we landed on to zoho . The thing we like most is the prompt customer service who solve your problems in a minute.

Cons

ALL the functionality seems to unavailable some time. uploading respective documents is not supported yet.

I like how easy it is to keep track of new hire documents and needs. I would like a few more mobile functions

Pros

I like that it ties to CRM and Books in Zoho, I am looking for it to function and tie into my reporting needs.

Cons

would like more mobile functions for my field employees, it would be nice if it had mapping of where my employees are.

Created a Time system easier than using the time clock.And keeps all the hours in one organized area. For the cost, it seems to be a decent value.

Pros

Helpful for the cost. It has most the tools needed to have employees clock in and out. It gets the job done.

Cons

There are many bugs with this software. First, the latency with the check in/out button, and the errors on the phone app is not actually clocking in and out when you know you specifically did. happened with every one of my employees including myself. it has time sheets, also included in Zoho projects, and for some reason, they do not integrate. They are both Zoho!!! lastly and most important. Attendance hour report, used at the end of the pay day does not give me the correct time. I have audited these report and they are always a few minutes off. it seems like they have seconds included when it only shows hours and minutes. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS COMPLIANT TO U.S. REGULATION!!!

I really like the fact that it offers large customization options to the administrator without requiring programming skills. It also integrates with the email system like a charm, without any configuration and the emails are sent very quick. The data structure is efficient and it also gives some interesting automation options.

Cons

From the admin point of view, I have noticed some limitations for field values. For example I can not use a formula to set a data type field through workflow to display the current date when triggered. Also, the process of designing a template for a document takes time because you have a small area where you see the document you create and you can not use preview features. You just have to save and test it somewhere else every time.

Zoho apps made our daily HR operations very smooth with a easy implementation and support service.

Pros

The best in class features like integration with mail and all other apps are remarkably good and the user interface is also very accessible.

Cons

A stand alone chat software for windows will be much effective, also the mail should be taking the details from the people i.e. designations and department details should be visible when clicked on the mail id via mail app. Seamless integration with the mail app and zoho people app is much appreciated.

Customizability and overall value for money would be the main pros of Zoho People. What's more is customer support that is responsive and helpful.

Cons

It does take a while getting used to the UI of Zoho People, there is a learning curve there. Moreover, it works best with active users (intranet), but not all companies want to have another tool for the employees to use (I work in an IT company and people already use many different tools).

Easily customization; I can disable modules that are not applicable to what we are doing at this time with the option to easily turn them back on. I can add needed fields to various forms. This has been the first and only tool we've found that may fit all of our needs coming from a self-developed time and expense system. The robust options for entering time is a bonus.

Cons

Report section isn't as user friendly as I would hope. Pay period configuration is limited to monthly or biweekly - but apparently the feature is being expanded on. Some fields cannot be disabled at all, and the approval channels aren't as straight forward to configure as I might hope.
