Brightpearl is a web-based solution that gives distributors and retailers a streamlined way to manage their businesses. With Brightpearl, small companies have a system to manage everything from inventory and order management to accounting and CRM. There are also integrations available to both online and offline sales channels, including in-store Point of Sale (POS) and online web stores and marketplaces.

Brightpearl enables retailers and distributors to automate key business functions, reducing data entry and administrative overhead while managing multiple sales channels. The system gives users access to their data in real time across their business. Inventory is always synced with accounting, sales representatives can rely on product data, and tax and revenue information is up-to-date.

Because the software is cloud-based, the system is applicable to businesses looking for access anytime and anywhere. The program is compatible with all devices, including iPads, and runs on both PCs and Macs.

The software is easy to use. Quick tech support and regular updates and improvments, clear help documentation and videos.

The only way you can do inventory take directly in Brightpearl - is to print a list of SKUs and chek them manually. If you have more than 300 SKUs it will be very difficult to do it this way.

Recommendations

The program is not suitable for companies with a large number of SKUs.

Simple to use and there are many ways to implement different process for dispatch and stock control. This has helped both efficiency and accuracy. There are constant improvements being developed and the support is brilliant.

Some aspects are not as intuitive to used however there are many developments in the pipeline to improve. They also seek feedback and ideas to better this too!

Recommendations

Multichannel!!!! BP's full Multichannel support is amazing, and it makes using eBay and Amazon super easy

CRM/Helpdesk, you still need manual integration with zendesk, shame its not all in BP.

Use BrightPearls Support. It's amazing, if you have a question then ask, don't wait or try and figure it out yourself. Use the knowledge base and ask questions!

Brightpearl are clearly very interested in developing their offering and consulting with their customers in order to make sure that the changes they are making are relevant to what their customers want.

There are lots of functions that I don't quite know how to use, however time spent exploring the package will make this easier to handle and get the most out of the software.

Recommendations

Spend some time to learn all of the functionality as there is a lot that this software can do when you look around it a bit more, also some of its functionality can be hidden from some users by super-users so it may be the case that Brightpearl has the options that you need but you don't have the access permissions to do it.

The software takes everything off your mind, knowing most things you might need to know instantly is available for you to find out on your computer. It keeps track of everything business related from customer purchases to orders you have recently done.

Obviously with it doing so much, it is also quite complicated to keep on top of and make sure you don't confuse your co-workers by changing details.

Recommendations

Leave notes on everything you do which related activity, such as a customer calling or a change of order. Keeps everyone informed within the business and leaves no one confused/asking questions.

They have a live tech department that can answer questions on the spot, by far their best feature.
The price is reasonable. Accounting features didn't work for us, but should for most.

Set up took 6 months and had to be done over. Handled by an outside vendor. Terrible.

Extremely time consuming to work with Inventory uploads and FBA transfers.

Recommendations

I wouldn't recommend for a company with over 1000 skus. It just isn't built for it.

When we emerged from our Kickstarter and headed into the world of retail we needed an ERP that was easy to use, allowed us to scale quickly, and was cloud based (as we were all travelling a lot). Brightpearl proved to be the perfect solution and over the past 18 months we've been impressed by how user friendly and easy to use it is. We never experienced a single system failure, and if we ever had questions their customer service folks were on hand to help. As an all in one ERP for growing companies it makes a lot of sense, while still remaining affordable. BP is as stable and reliable as a SAAS and we'd recommend it to any newcomer wanting flexibility as they start out.

The only thing i dislike as an individual would be the price of the product and the amount of times it crashes in a week.

When we first used it was lacking many features however it has improved over the last 12 months. they do regular monthly updates which is great! being as its cloud based you can access it from your mobile, tablet, laptop and pc with ease!

Brightpearl have an active online presence, their help documents are constantly revised, revisited and updated, and their online community is second to none. In addition to this, being part of their "Gold Support" program allows us virtually immediate access to help should we encounter a problem.

For me the logical functioning of the product, and its integration possibilities [many of which are included "out-the-box"]. When we converted to Brightpearl 12 months ago I was incredibly sceptical and concerned about the steep learning curve of getting myself and my staff up to speed with the functions and features of the program. Knowing the "day-to-day" functions of a program are one thing, but with a piece of software like this you really want to know it in depth to ensure that you are getting the most out of its functionality and capability. With the help of their staff and the logical layout and functioning of the software we were quickly able to leverage its features, and day by day we learn more and more that ensures we are using it to its full potential. Its this logical method that makes the software so powerful, and the fact that the support staff are engaged and able to assist backs this up superbly.

Recommendations

Evaluating software is a time consuming process, it is by no means an easy task, and it requires a large amount of careful consideration. At the end of the day however one needs to ensure that he / she is not resisting change because they are simply apprehensive of the work involved in setting up and learning new systems. You need to commit fully and jump right in.
