Cornerstone OnDemand is a cloud-based performance management solution. It enables users to recruit talent, customize learning initiatives, generate compliance reports, prepare high performers for succession and more.
Cornerstone can also be integrated with a variety of HRMS/HRIS and ERP solutions. Users can track applicants to identify their best sources of talent, initiate and automate the hiring process, manage interviews and customize onboarding plans.
Cornerstone also comes with a library of training courses that employees can browse and that managers can assign as-needed. A succession dashboard displays the skills, potential and performance of employees, which helps managers identify colleagues who are ready to take the next step in their career and who needs more training to grow.

I did not like that the installation process with rather difficult. Also, though the product with extremely accessible the lay out of the software can be a bit confusing.

As an end user, I had no trouble going through the workflows setup by managers.
It seemed to have interesting group capabilities. I've been an end user of other such software and was often of the mind I could personally create a better software solution. This was the first where that wasn't really the case.
Unfortunately, this software was not something I could not take with me when I moved to a new job.
It was extremely easy for the end user to enter their information.

We purchased Cornerstone to be our LMS of choice, we are a 250 strong company.
From the moment it was sold and the invoice paid we heard almost nothing. We were offered no implementation support, no advice on how to set up. We were given no customer success manager and as such, we didn't use the product. When they sent a further invoice I advised I didn't want to continue to use it and heard absolutely nothing back. We just got shut off with no communication at all.
The features were not all ready and very basic. I would not recommend using this company at all

Cornerstone has several LMS systems out in the market and as one of the biggest players offers a lot of variety in terms of utilization as an LMS. However, because of this they mainly cater to larger organizations, and those who can generally provide an LMS admin. This is due to how long they have been in the market. Although they are creating new platforms for the emerging market *gamification, tracking, social media, etc* this has made it daunting for them to have support for their other platforms.

Very user friendly, you can unified your whole talent strategy in one system and is a system that empower HR to manage and use it.
If you have the opportunity to implement this software do it and always be sure to have several people with the knowledge of administration and follow the releases, get prepare for it and you will get new functionalities.

This is a great product that allows you to create a successful classroom community within your school. There are many features that allow you to generate online discussion among your students and allow them to connect with the course content in engaging ways.
The software was fairly easy to use. Most of my students found it tremendously helpful with the abundance of help videos and content that was available online
The software can be very expensive depending on your schools budget.
I would not get this product unless your whole educational institution in on board and prepared for a slight learning curve.

We have found that for our organization, one which has never had an LMS, the Cornerstone Ondemand LMS has been accepted and is in the process of being integrated in to our culture. We are only 35 days after launch and have already had 1/6th of our organization access elearning courses. Employees have adapted well to accessing the system, requesting elearning courses, and registering for instructor led events. We couldn't be happier!
The ease of use for the end user. The implementation team and process was better than any of the other four LMS products I've participated in implementing in other organizations. The team at Cornerstone is extremely helpful and dedicated to your success.
As with any LMS software, the complexity of the administration functions is always a challenge.
Do your research. Make sure you have a clear understanding of the needs of your organization. One LMS doesn't fit all needs, but Cornerstone is definitely one that should be on your list to consider.

Cornerstone OnDemand is used in our company as a global learning management system. It is now implemented globally across all markets and regions. We want to use Cornerstone OnDemand a as one stop shop for our employees for any type of learnings. So all learning content we have, was or will be migrated to Cornerstone OnDemand.
We are only using the learning cloud. The functionality which exists now is covering most of our scenarios. It also covers specific factory and pharma requirements. We still have a lot of requirements for future enhancements. We believe Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) can do better in reporting and needs to redesign some older modules (like Exams and Evaluations). But in general we are satisfied with CSOD's functionalities.

My team and I evaluated and implemented Cornerstone's LMS. We liked the functionality of the product and that it had a social media component which allows users to create communities where they can comment or share content. The vendor was easy to work with.
The transition from sales to implementation was relatively smooth but we did have challenges we worked through related to timing and testing but nothing we weren't able to overcome.
Ensure you evaluate several options and have a good idea what you want your users to accomplish with the tool and what the business is trying to drive by implementing and using the tool. You also need to have a good change management plan with communication milestones and events to drive participation.

The amount of data it can store and the back end reporting capabilities.
There are too many limitations to what you can and cannot do. Our firm has a hard time developing programs within the LMS because of the restrictions we get with posting content, searching for items, and making changes to the canned content they make available.
Be sure that if you purchase the canned content from them you have a clause, or clearly defined agreement, that defines what they will assist you with and what a reasonable turnaround time should be to get the work complete.

My review is related to the Cornerstone products that my organization uses: Core, Connect, Learning, Recruiting. I think Cornerstone is a great product and Cornerstone support cannot be beat. I love the fact that Cornerstone is constantly improving itself, with updates and improvements every quarter. Cornerstone support is available in so many different places and formats. It's never far away. On the Cornerstone Success Center, I use the Ask the Expert forum all the time and get answers often within the hour. Suggestion City is a great place to make sure that your wishes for improvements for Cornerstone are heard.
Sometimes I do feel that Cornerstone tries to do everything, so some of the details get missed. I also sometimes feel that Cornerstone focuses on making it easy to use for the end-user, but forgets about making it easy to use for the person implementing content. Content implementation is sometimes counter-intuitive as it seems that it is set up like a programmer would set it up. If you think like a programmer, it makes sense. If you don't, it seems convoluted.
Definitely think about what your organization needs and what your goals are. Make sure that Cornerstone meets your needs and ensures that you will be able to meet your goals.

Each feature has an additional cost. Also the software is outdated and takes a long time to navigate.
If you don't have a choice, Cornerstone can still be useful. If you want ease of use for learners and admins, turn and run.

The end-user experience is really good. Our end-users have been very pleased with how clean and organized it is, and how easy it is to find everything.
The administration was a nightmare. We had many problems getting what we needed from Cornerstone, as well as from Cornerstones third party vendors. There needs to be more focus on customer service, and more management of their third party vendor.
Ensure the contract is very specific, and make sure you get in writing the amount of time problems will be resolved. It took us over 1 year for implementation because of the problems with customer service.

The customer service is on point but, from an ease of use perspective I feel like it lacks. Our training department is constantly changing and trying to train someone on Cornerstone I dread the most. There is a great deal of help guides cataloged under help dependent on what page you are on. If it weren't for that, I may have not learned the system at all.
The learning environment lacks clear ways to register temporary users, construct curriculum's with stop-points, and courses are constantly needing to be manually completed.
IF there is an easier to use program, I would try it first before getting under contract.

A large amount of data may be transferred and mixed from different modules (Recruiting, Learning, Performance, Succession).

We use Cornerstone at our company for performance management. While it does give an overall rating, it's not intuitive at all to use. All of my direct reports ask for help each review cycle, I ask HR for help, etc. Having said this, however, I haven't seen any HR system that's intuitive for users to use but it would be great if someone created one!

If we had to sum up our experience with Cornerstone in one word, I would say "Inconsistent." We signed a contract in December of 2014 and finally were able to implement the LMS in February of this year. Some of the implementation consultants, sales people, and customer service managers have been great and some have been terrible. I think your experience really depends on who gets assigned to your case.
Some of the biggest frustrations we have had is with technical setup and data loads and with their certifications module. We work in a highly regulated industry and our employees have to maintain strict training compliance. We actually had to pay extra for their Certification module but it is highly underdeveloped and the reporting on it is terrible. There is not even a quick report for managers to see the Certification status of their subordinates. If you have any extra technical requirements or issues they will put you through the wringer as far as time and cost.
Our users really like the system but we have had a bear of a time on the administrative side getting things setup the way we want and functioning correctly. If you are just looking for a vanilla product and don't have a lot of technical or compliance requirements than I think this could be a good system. If not, I would suggest going with a higher end product like Success Factors.

Cornerstone provides a user-friendly, comprehensive talent management solution for our company. Currently we are using Cornerstone for both our LMS and Performance Review System. We are looking to expand that into succession planning, and possibly compensation and recruiting in the future. Cornerstone provides regular updates to the software as a means of constantly improving the functionality. We have had the system for five years, and are very impressed with the user friendly nature, the administrative capabilities to customize the system, and the customer service, which is top notch. I would strongly recommend adding Cornerstone to your search list for talent management solutions.

As users of the Talent cloud for the last 18 months, specifically to collect Potential Ratings and completing Succession Plans, we have found that the product has come a long way since we started our project and we know that more functionality is in the pipeline. In that time the system has be updated to support a position based approach to succession alongside the existing employee based approach functionality.
There are still some changes needed to improve reporting on the data collected but overall the product had allowed us to meet the needs of the business.

Cornerstone is the best and most comprehensive solution that I have seen for talent management. I have used the LMS, Performance, Succession, Connect and Extended Enterprise modules. CSOD continues to make enhancements to their product, especially with Learning, Connect and Performance, but where they are lacking is in enhancements to their mobile app and to their Succession module. While I do find great value in reaching out to their Global Product Support team, it will sometimes take days and even weeks before you get a response from them on a case. The communication to the customer is lacking there.
Additionally, I find that some of the modules, such as Performance and Succession, can be really complex and require a lot of testing and trial and error to get things right. It does help that you are given two test environments (Stage and Pilot) to test things in. The quarterly releases have also gotten better over time, with many resources that can be used throughout User Acceptance Testing and the rest of the release cycle.
Change is not always handled seamlessly for the customer, as we have experienced major delays when our Account Manager was on leave and also our Client Success Manager was out on leave. The people who filled in for them seemed overwhelmed and as a result there was a lack of communication.
Overall, Cornerstone is a great encompassing talent management system and I have not encountered another company that comes close to what they offer.

We are still implementing Cornerstone products but are excited to be able to implement all of the tools available to us. From ATS to Succession there is a tool for every step in the life cycle of an employee. We have almost all of them. Our greatest challenge is employee engagement with the system. We already have so many other software platforms in use in other area of HR (benefits, compensation, etc.) that employees view it as "just another page to login to." But our greatest success is the increase in reportable metrics. We can answer almost every HR question with the custom reporting application inside our portal. We've just scratched the surface with Cornerstone and can't wait to see what the next 1 - 2 years will look like with this product.

I personally have had a great experience with Cornerstone, from both a end user perspective and also from a system administrator perspective. Currently, we use the Core, Learning, Performance and Succession modules and each has impacted our workforce and internal workflow processes in their own ways. The thing I love about Cornerstone most is that their releases are filled with extremely relevant and useful upgrades. Other technologies that we use will upgrade their product just as regularly but there will be very little that we would actually consider implementing. Cornerstone listens to their user base and structures their releases in a way to meet the needs of the most request items. They are also very good about the overall user interface to ensure the technology is engaging for users. Cornerstone Support has always provided great direction from major configuration questions to best practice recommendations. When you submit a Care Ticket you typically get a response back within 24 hours and the feedback that is given is clear and concise. The only con really is that it is hard for us to keep up with all the upgrades that are made, but that is a problem that I am willing to have if it means the product is getting better and better!
