Extended Care Professional (ECP) makes cloud-based electronic health records (EHR) software for assisted living and senior care communities. This vendor has been operating since 2004, serving small and multi-state providers alike.
This product features electronic medical administration records (eMAR) capabilities that include alerts and reminders for staff regarding patient regimens. Administrators receive notifications when inventory is low on specific medications and, since ECP integrates with most major pharmacy software vendors, the reordering process is automated.
ECP can also be used for other care management tasks. It creates and stores patient health assessments, generates care plans, provides electronic charting and assists with state mandated reports. Users can input data through a touch screen on tablet devices.
This software also features facility management tools, which include modules for scheduling resident activities, customizing employee files, tracking meal delivery, keeping in touch with potential new residents and more.

I like how easy it is for new staff to learn because of how intuitive the display is. I also like how good customer support is at getting back with a solution or in creating new features that are being asked for. The software integrates wonderfully with the pharmacy that our community uses. Needed information and data is easy to access with all of the options for creating reports. The pictures of residents on the screen is great and the optional use of letters/colored borders to signify different things about the resident is a great way to see a lot at first glance. Consequently the ability to quickly put the screen into or out of a discreet mode is great as well.
Web-based is great but when the network goes down it is challenging as we rely on ECP a lot.
Make sure the interface is easy to use and makes sense. The ability of the software and your house pharmacy to integrate via some kind of a portal is also super-duper.
