MatrixCare EHR is a cloud-based electronic health records system with product suites that include financial, operational, clinical and marketing applications. It is made by MDI Achieve, Inc. and was founded in 1982.
This software can reduce duplicate data entry, as data can be shared between its integrated applications. Marketing functions include lead management and inquiry/referral source tracking, which allows users to assess success rates for attracting residents. Clinical and resident management capabilities help users document resident incidents or injuries, create caregiver task sheets and automate service plans. And financial and operational tasks are facilitated through budgeting tools that show budgets versus real-time revenue and expense data.
MatrixCare EHR’s product suites differ slightly depending on whether the client is a facility for skilled nursing or assisted living. Specific modules, such as Minimum Data Set compliance tools, are made available based on each facility's needs.

I have been implementing systems for 25 years - 10 years in Senior Housing. Tried this software with a client on the advice of others. I was concerned about the financials but thought I could work out the issues. I was wrong. Vendor won't release us from contract and we are stuck with a product that doesn't suit our customers needs. The Senior Living product is designed for a business that does not use accrual accounting or require GAAP reporting. The Senior Living product uses a batch process to update the General Ledger; there is no real time integration with the Matrixcare General Ledger product or drill down capabilities from the Financials. Even QuickBooks allows you to drill down to detail from the financials. I think most users expect this now and wouldn't even think to ask if the capability exists within a product that calls itself fully integrated. The General Ledger product is clumsy to use and fixing errors such as one sided journal entries (common because it allows posting of transaction debits & credits to different months) requires a call in to customer support to get the Daily Password.

Selected this product for an Assisted Living property. We were very excited to sign on for the product with its drill down capabilities etc but had nothing but problems with the financial reporting. Warning! Do not plan to use this for financials. Everyone was very nice until we said the product wouldn't work for us and were cancelling. Then it got ugly....
If you are a family owned business and don't need to provide good financial reports, this could be good system for you.
After countless interviews with "experts" on staff we were not able to fix our problems but were told they would still enforce our contract. An expensive mistake for us! Don't make the same mistake. This is definitely a buyer beware vendor!

The MatrixCare clinical software is very end user friendly and fairly simple to maintain. Good solid advice and foundational work in the clinical build was essential. The reporting capability far exceeds what other products offer in my experience. All MatrixCare staff from the Account Manager, to PM staff, Clinical Education staff and development staff are exceptional in customer service and knowledge of their software resulting in best practices and software design. I do hope that given development on the financial software that we can move to a totally integrated system some day in the future.
