WorkWise ERP Software

Historically, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software has been designed using a modular structure. WorkWise, however, after developing and implementing ERP and CRM solutions for over fifteen years, recognized the need for an approach that was focused on user roles rather than modules. With this goal in mind, WorkWise created WorkWise ERP, a flexible, on-premise ERP application that enables the assembly of screens and functions necessary to fit each user’s role and responsibilities.

WorkWise ERP has over forty-five applications that can be used to build hundreds of roles which companies can deploy either at the Group level (Customer Service, Scheduling, Accounts Payable, etc.) or at the individual User level. These unique functional templates, called Role-Based WorkBenches™ (RBW), put everything that an individual user needs to increase productivity, decrease costs, and improve employee performance and customer service just a click away.

WorkWise ERP also includes other intuitive features that save time and increase efficiency, including the ability for users to drill-down to details with one click, save queries for later use, export query results directly to Excel, and set their own specific navigation and browser preferences. In addition, to protect confidential data, security can be set at the role and/or user level.

WorkWise also offers complete USA based Call Center support and implementation services using their exclusive Role-Based Implementation Methodology (RBIM), which includes a series of built-in management checkpoints to ensure that the project proceeds quickly and efficiently.

We think this program is an excellent fit for mid-sized discrete manufacturers looking to reduce costs and increase success by managing time, resources, and technology effectively.

I love that this product can be used across our company. It allows us to integrate many of our areas into one centralized source. This helps with information flow to all parts of the organization.

Likes Least

I think there are some areas that have evolved quite nice with the product and other areas that could use some work still.

Recommendations

I would offer that someone should extensively test the solution to make sure it meets the business needs and requirements. This software is highly powerful and I would make sure my employees get the proper training from the start to maximize the efficiency out of the starting blocks.

It's an intuitive product from a good, local vendor.

The current version has some security holes. As a publicly-held company, our SOX compliance will not tolerate this.

Recommendations

Perform your evaluation methodically. This is a critical decision you'll live with for years to come.

One of the major advantages for me as a 9 year user of TCM is the close proximity of WorkWise to my facility. They have been very responsive to questions and providing explanations. As for the product, I have always said, "Someone smarter than me created this, so figure it out and use it." As a company, we have been involved with "WorkWise" before it was named "WorkWise." I believe we go back to the 1980's. Something must be working, because we have grown with the product and continue to add 'modules' and expand our daily use of TCM.

I have been asking for years for a "Bin-Location" maintenance area/screen so you do not have to enter item locations three times: Kanban, Primary Bin, and "IM" bin location. No Luck so far.

Recommendations

If you load your system as detailed by WorkWise (very well, I might add), the effort you put into it will allow you to use so many functions. That is one thing I do truly like about the software. You can move from Inventory Control to Purchasing to Customer Order entries,Bills of Material to Routes, etc. with ease. A very useful, time-saving feature.

Workwise has made a commitment to continue to improve not only its existing modules but add new ones along the way. They have also started to work towards a Cloud solution. They are very responsive to our needs as a business and willing to work with us to make modifications where necessary to allow us continue to get better as a company.

Being a finance person, I find that their accounting/finance/general ledger module is not very robust. However, it is not our main driver, as we are able to get out of it what we need for now in this area.

Recommendations

Make sure to interact a lot with your Workwise project manager and hold them accountable. Lean on them when things aren't quite going as planned, and they can help to redirect the project and get it back on track

Workwise Role-Based ERP is simple ERP software that is easy to use. Our new employees are able to understand the software and be functional users in a short period of time. Workwise continues to make investments and improvements in their software. And they listen to users when making improvements. The workbenches are one of the best enhancements they have made.

Likes Least

They still have modules in some applications that could be improved. I would like to see some budgeting/financial planning module.

Recommendations

Role-Based ERP gives everything you need. Compare it to other large ERP systems. Other vendors need to have somebody on-site for months to implement, but not Workwise.

The product offers a robust set of tools, particularly on the manufacturing side of the software. WorkWise is an excellent software supplier who listens to the needs of the users and responds in a positive manner.

Likes Least

The product needs to be enhanced to fit the needs of publicly held companies, particularly in the area of SOX regulations related to system security. We have addressed this requirement with WorkWise, and are confident they will address this in a future release.

Recommendations

The best recommendation I can provide is to not expect an off-the-shelf ERP package to address every need your organization may have. You will likely need to change certain processes to fit the parameters of the software.
