Constant Contact provides a range of intuitive marketing applications designed to help small businesses and nonprofits expand their customer bases and nurture relationships. Solutions include email marketing, event marketing, social campaigns and reporting, survey management and offer management—all of which are available either independently or as part of an integrated suite called the Constant Contact Toolkit.

Constant Contact’s email marketing application allows businesses to import customer data from spreadsheets or email clients, such as Gmail and Microsoft Outlook. Email sign-up forms can be personalized and embedded on web pages or on Facebook to capture new contacts and build email lists. The system offers hundreds of customizable email templates with drag-and-drop elements and also includes real-time reporting features to track email opens, clicks, forwards, social shares and more.

Constant Contact offers both online and in-person seminars and training to help users improve their marketing efforts.

Pros

The support Constant Contact provides makes this product worth it. In fact, the excellent support alone makes this product the reason to choose Constant Contact over all of its competors.

Cons

This program has a lot of features, which also makes this program more difficult to figure out. For someone not trained on this program, it's not intuitive and could be difficult to use. It's a very difficult program to find your way around for someone not familiar with it.

The ability to personalize each email makes a huge difference, especially when communicating with our donors. In comparison to other products, Constant Contact is much more intuitive.

Pros

Constant Contact is an easy drag and drop interface that creates professional, custom, and quick marketing solutions. Constant Contact offers in person "meet-ups" every so often that provide face to face training and best practices.

Cons

The reporting aspects on the back end of Constant Contact could be more thorough. There are basic reports available, but I would like to create custom reports for more than the number of people who opened the email and who clicked through on a link within the email, etc.

Ask an event planner to help modify the registration segments of the site. There are a few small features that would make this software heads and shoulders above everyone else's on the market.

Pros

Having utilized a variety of registration / communication systems through the years this one is my preference. It allows me to communicate effectively, track who has and hasn't seen the information and provide a stable registration system for my events.

Cons

There are definitely some glitches in the registration process. I would like to see an option for registrants to be able to log-back in and add guests or adjust their own reservations. It's also a problem when we sell "Tables" for an event that there is no way for them to enter the attendee names at a later date.

Pros

Constant Contact is easy to use and intuitive. You are able to create beautiful emails with ease, as well as customize email templates to suite your marketing needs.

Cons

Constant Contact is often glitchy. While you are in the email editor, it will sometimes revert back to a previously saved version. It is also often difficult to format your emails the way you would like them i.e. picture placement, text wrapping, etc.

Cons

Pros

The templates are easy to use and there are plenty of them. Reports are great, easy to read. Customer service is easy to get a hold of and very helpful.

Cons

Functionality is challenging. Have to use Chrome's incognito to manipulate font and hyperlinks. Also hard to do editing when the "hover" boxes are in the way of what is being typed.

Pros

No exceptional features stand out about this software. I like that they send the updated subscriber/unsubsribers report to my inbox. The emails I have scheduled do go out on time. The templates look professional.

Cons

I hate how Constant Contact logs me out all the time. Sometimes it is difficult to format newsletters. Sometimes something simple like changing the font just won't change or work probably, which is very annoying. Changing a font should be simple.

I've been very happy with the product and the support I've gotten from the Constant Contact team.

Pros

Very helpful resources and easy to use functions. Their free workshops are always very informative and help make connections with local consultants and advisers. Bringing in lists or gathering website signups is a breeze. Setting up and email blasts or campaigns is simple and they work great on all devices, from PCs to phones. Reporting is helpful and detailed.

Cons

As a small company its list limits are not a big deal, but I could see where they would be a problem for those with huge (100k+) email lists. The WordPress plugin has caused problems for me. I've had to disable it a couple of times. But right now it's working fine. Also the limit on the number of users means it can't be a true CRM for us since our sales team can't take advantage of its great tools.

It's simple & easy to use. Importing email addresses is fairly easy & I can upload as many photos as I'd like. There are a ton of templates created that make it easy to customize and look professional.

Cons

I'd like to see more customization options - including colors, fonts, and design. It's hard to maintain brand standards without the ability to use our fonts. This may be possible at a higher cost. I have the lowest cost level.

Cons

Don't really see any cons. The only con is that they also have a very strict spam policy. I remember they only allow 1 spam complaint per 1000 email sends. This makes eblasts to tradeshows a bit difficult since sometimes the tradeshow attendees don't remember they have signed up to receive email from the company, so they thought we are spamming them. However, it's also this very strict policy that enables their server excellent delivery rate.

I am not exactly sure how to answer, the benefit is seen is I send emails. If we didn't have compliance telling us which software we could use I would use InfusionSoft because of the automation it offers.

Pros

how user friendly it is. The templates are simple and easy to adjust. I like that you can move things around within the template.

Cons

lack of automation and ability to create a funnel. I would like to be able to send out and email and drop someone into a funnel based on what they clicked on and what they opened.

Cons

Limited report and cuts on database. I can't, for example, ask for a list of contacts who have or have not opened my last 6 emails. Also, they have increased the price a few times in the last few years. Now it seems like competitors are a better value even without checking if those competitors have the missing features or not...

Pros

Setting up email and survey campaign are quite easy and have good reporting on the backend. These reports have allowed use to fine-tune how we market to certain groups.

Everything was in one place for our event management and communications regarding the event.

Pros

Simple to use. It was almost a "drag and drop" type of format with a little more flexibility. We used the email, events, and polls/surveys features.

Cons

I used it at a previous company, so I'm not sure if this is still an issue or not: I had a heck of a time with trying to use any sort of HTML formatting.
Another issue I had was that the email send outs were very sporadic. I wouldn't always get notifications I should've.
Purely a cosmetic complaint, but the Event pages don't look modern/are kind of clunky looking.

This product is great for displaying lots of content in an email and allows you to create and customize the content being sent out. It allows you to do so much more than a typical email would allow you to do and it allows you to send it looking very professional and customized to the audience you are sending it to. With anything the product has its own learning curve to understand how to insert different content, images, links, etc. however once you figure those things out the system becomes very easy and effortless to use.

We've been using Constant Contact for our chamber's email marketing for years. It integrates nicely with our member database, saving the step of re-entering emails.

And, the new editor recently introduced makes our marketing job easier - love the drag and drop feature.

I highly recommend!
