eTrigue has several helpful templates for landing pages and emails. The customer support is very helpful and usually responds within the hour of your request.

Is anyone experiencing an extremely low open rate on campaigns? I have sent several campaigns out within the last month or two and the majority of my recipients are claiming they do not have the email in their inbox or spam folder. However, on my message effectiveness report, it shows that they were delivered and usually only have 4 or 5 bounce backs out of 1,000. I am very concerned that my message is not being received and my marketing efforts have failed. After reaching out to eTrigue support I made necessary changes, example: enabling MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) which provides a plain text message in addition to our HTML format, but still my open rates are significantly low. Any tips? Thoughts?

Recommendations

I recommend getting familiar with the support articles and videos prior to playing with eTrigue. I was not familiar with the back end of things and after being appointed an administrator after the previous administrator was laid off I struggled with technical questions or concerns from the group.

Elegance, power and simplicity. One of the most powerful marketing automation platforms that does NOT need a dedicated headcount to fully utilize. Ideal for startups and lean teams

Gmail integration needed. Would love to see them expand email support. We would then use them today as we're a gmail shop.

Recommendations

Take a test drive with each before committing. And ask about the tiers/pricing. Many platforms have gotchas once you are in and realize you need more functionality or a dedicated IP for sending.

The product is comprehensive and easy to use. Management is very interested in the performance, reliability and user experience. They also incorporate new features suggested by users as quickly as it makes sense to modify the application. Customer Service is probably the best experience I've had in 20 years. The Client Success team is exceptional. They respond quickly and with exact information as available.

We work so extensively with the team at eTrigue that anything we don't like is generally ignored due to our customer experience, which is exceptional. For the record, we are one of the largest users and clients of DemandCenter.

Recommendations

Get past the industry hype. Marketing Automation is an incredibly powerful tool if you know how to use it. eTrigue's simple and easy to use Campaign Flows and templates make it exceptionally easy to use compared to all others. However, what Marketing Automation from any vendor can't solve is content and subject lines. Fail on both content and subject lines, and no system in the world can make you successful. Don't start with an overly complex MA system that already assigns you hours of work. We can start a campaign and get a first email out in minutes with DemandCenter if we have too, although it's not preferred.

DemandCenter is a very intuitive marketing automation tool that allows for very sophisticated dynamic campaigns to be constructed and executed, as well as more straight-forward simple one-off campaigns based on static lists. The customer support is outstanding. The company is super responsive and thorough in addressing any issues that arise.

Like any hosted application, DemandCenter is subject to "a lot of moving parts," making it difficult sometimes to identify and troubleshoot the source of issues that may periodically bubble up. It's hard sometimes to know if the issue is due to the application itself "being down", or whether it is due to poor connectivity issues, or compatibility issue with ever-changing browser updates. In general, however, the product is very stable, much more now than three years ago when we first started using it.

Recommendations

Be sure you have a realisitc expectation on what you want to do with your marketing automation tool, and understand what it is really going to take (in terms of time, money and resources) to get it to the point where you are actually getting value out of it. There are some applications that promise more functionality, but the reality is that most users never get to that level of sophistication with any of these tools to really leverage what they can do. Key considerations when evaluating software like this are: 1. Total cost of ownership; 2. Ease of implementation and getting up and running; 3. Ease of use; 4. Customer service and support. These were the criteria I used in evaluating what tool to buy, and eTrigue and DemandCenter was the clear winner.

They provide great customer support 24/7 and are very responsive to support tickets/issues. You can also get a hold of someone to help with anything relating to their system.

The best part about eTrigue were their real-time lead alerts. If someone in our eTrigue database went to visit our website, the correct salesperson would be notified, making our lead gen pretty strong!

It doesn't integrate well with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This could be either MD or eTrigue. But it was the reason we switched from eTrigue to ClickDimensions - because ClickDimensions integrates with our CRM.

Recommendations

It really is a great tool. It doesn't weed out duplicates well, but that forces you to have clean data. The support center is great, and learning was pretty easy. Their training is minimal. It isn't a big company, but that's one thing I liked about them.

The best feature for me was the integration with Salesforce. The system was also easy to set up and easy to learn. The company was very easy to work with and very responsive to any questions or problems.

I had an overall good experience with the company and the system. The reason we stopped using it is because we decided to outsource all marketing functions and therefore no longer had a need for an email system whatsoever.

Coradiant has used eTrigue marketing automation and demand generation capabilities since 2005. eTrigue allowed a very small marketing team to communicate to and nurture a very large list of interested prospects.

As a SaaS system, eTrigue was very simple to deploy, and began to add value immediately. Two key capabilities: the ability to run campaigns for large targeted audiences, and the ability to track the interest of prospects and respond in a timely and coordinated manner. It's all very simple and intuitive to use. Our marketing resources were limited, so eTrigue's ability to easily set up, send and track email newsletters, event and webinar invitations and other offers, track named and anonymous visitors, as well as manage a database of over half a million contacts was especially valuable.

Demand Center became available in early 2011 and added graphical drag and drop campaign creation, and more sophisticated reporting among a host of new features. Support from eTrigue was fast and accurate.
