MailChimp Software

MailChimp is an email marketing service with around five million users worldwide. It lets users share newsletters on various social networks, and the system can integrate with services that users already have.

With MailChimp, users can collect and analyze their data, and the system offers graphical representations of data in various formats. Customer interaction with email campaigns can be represented through interactive charts and graphs.

MailChimp allows users to design, share and track several email newsletters easily from any location, and users can also view advanced reports, social statistics and subscriber activity.

MailChimp offers a mobile-based application for both Android and iOS. This application works as a quick shortcut to reach users' email marketing accounts, enabling users to receive campaign updates, add subscribers and remain informed about social media activity.

This solution is suitable for small businesses and is available on monthly subscription basis only.

Works perfectly with our monthly newsletter and allows us to track our customers and members. The templates are easy to use and customizing it to our needs really helps with the personalization of the corespondences.

MailChimp is a super hands-off and easy-to-use piece of software for email distribution lists - and honestly, a big part of the appeal is how clean, uncluttered, and friendly the UI is. It just feels forgiving, like if you messed up a setting or an option you'd have a chance to go back and correct it before it was too late - and that you'd actually be *able* to find that setting on your own!

Pros

Clean, friendly UI that feels forgiving of mistakes and exploration.

Cons

I wish they'd condense their emailed receipts down to a single page!

We use this product to send out monthly newsletters and reports to our team. It was extremely easy to learn this product and instruct others to use it. I would recommend MailChimp to others looking for a product that produces quality newsletters.

Pros

Easy to use, looks very clean.

Cons

No cons at this time. The product is simple.

I've been using MailChimp for years, and although I generally like the product, I've encountered roadblocks along the way. It's a system that's great for general lists that don't require a lot of segmentation as well as simple emails.

Pros

There is a lot of great reporting even with the free product.

Cons

Managing the lists can be cumbersome, especially when using the group or segmentation features.

The best email marketing campaign manager. Drag and drop elements to create a custom email or use a pre-generated template. Very easy to use. Triggers are all very easy to set up and integrates with most of the other programs we use.

Likes Least

Very harsh with the rules on building lists. We have a lot of client info obtained through mostly manual processes so no 2 step verification. Very hard to import clients and get our list built up without triggering an our account to be reviewed.

Recommendations

Extremely easy to use and a lot of help instructions. Integrates with a lot of management programs making it easy to share common info across all programs.

MailChimp is very easy to use, and it's super simple to start email marketing campaigns. The integrations with other software such as Bigcommerce are very nice since you can set it up to automatically add customers or newsletter subscribers to your MailChimp contact lists. The help articles are great, and their free plan is awesome for small businesses.

Likes Least

I wish the software would not add the MailChimp logo to the bottom of emails that are sent out on the free plan, but it is completely understandable from their perspective.

Recommendations

Take advantage of the free plan to try out the software and make sure it works for you, and then just stay on it if your company is small enough and you don't need advanced features.

MailChimp is one of the more modern and intuitive email marketing options on the market today with free options as well as very affordable low-cost options. MailChimp offers mobile-responsive templates that make it easy to create quick, effective email campaigns that look great visually. The ability to constrain high resolution images for mobile devices enable crisp graphics and high resolution emails.

Likes Least

If you're using a general, mobile-responsive template, there's no option for custom css within each individual block. The previous version of constant contact still offers this, otherwise you would need to use all custom coding.

Recommendations

Give it a try as there is a free option, which is especially useful for those with a small business. The higher the contact / list then the higher you will pay, but the price is very competitive compared to the other options.

MailChimp has a forever free plan and is extremely easy and intuitive to operate. The design interface is very clean and can be used by the most inexperienced email designer.

I wish there were better customer support options for all customers. MailChimp used to offer email and chat support for free customers, but that is no longer the case. The only option available for free customers is a support database with detailed help articles.

Recommendations

I've used both Constant Contact and MailChimp in the past. MailChimp seems to me to be easier to use in both design and function. Highly recommended for businesses of all sizes to use for email marketing.

Mailchimp is so easy to use and offers a competitive pricing that makes the tool essential to any marketer and business. It's great to have well designed templates, working on all devices, ready for you on the platform to customize. One of the best things from Mailchimp is that they have been now for a long time in the market, which allowed them to develop a complete API that allows you to integrate Mailchimp with other tools like Wordpress, create Zaps with Zapier...

Likes Least

Segmentation and automation of workflows could be improved.

Recommendations

Start with their free account and make some tests, it's a great tool for startups looking for a cheap but powerful solution, and then you can move to paid accounts once you increase your needs. Before going on with your subscription check their rules, they are restrictive with some industries and won't allow you to use the tool if you work in certain markets. It happened to me in the past and they just cancel your account.

MailChimp is easy to use and the email/newsletter looks very professional. I also like that it's free if sending to less than 2,000 addresses. It saves the design which makes it easy to replicate for new eblasts. It's easy to upload photographs.

Likes Least

I haven't delved into changing the design or making major adjustments. It looks like it would take a little time to learn how to use more than the basics.

Recommendations

Try it out! It's free to the first 1,999 addresses and easy to use. Our volunteers are able to input addresses/data without much training.

I like that it feels informal and fun (mailchimp "highfives", etc.). I like the tracking features that you can see open rates and click rates, and who specifically. The templates have been great, easy to use, etc.

I don't know a lot about the competitors in this market or what/how their products differ, but we have been very happy with Mailchimp.

Recommendations

I think integration is more and more necessary. We have been able to integrate mailchimp with our website (wordpress), but that would be high on my list of things that I would be evaluating if looking for new software.

I have no complaints about this product. If you want dozens of template options and complex tailoring of the visual layout, there may be better options, but this should do the job for 90% of businesses out there.

Recommendations

There are other more robust and complex email management platforms, but if you want something that can handle most jobs, is easy to use, and that integrates well with plenty of other programs, Mailchimp is the way to go.

The pricing structure was very clear so that left no room for confusion. My price adapts based on my list size. It was simple to setup a campaign, choose what tracking options I wanted, comply with SPAM laws, etc. The statistics provided after sending were great to monitor the delivery rate and open/click rate. I have only used MailChimp so I do not have experience with others to compare.

Likes Least

I do not have any complaints. The only reason I left a 9 instead of 10 is that I have not used others to compare. Actually, one tiny thing was that after signing up, I received an offer to get 10% off if I signed up for the social info as well for a few bucks more. This now only applies toward future billing and now the initial month's bill. I wish I were prompted for this initially before completing my initial purchase.

Recommendations

I suppose it's always wise to compare. However, MailChimp is a household name which usually means it can be trusted unless it is too big and you are therefore paying an unnecessary premium. I felt the pricing was very fair however so this did not deter me to seek other options.
