CareCloud Charts is an MU-certified EHR solution that provides comprehensive tools to provide better patient care and practice management. Their sales force will show you all the fancy "app" features - which are really only disjointed functionalities that make it very cumbersome to move efficiently through a patient's chart. They sold us on software updates every three weeks- with the updates reflecting client feedback. The updates dwindled in frequency to the point where we see one a quarter - not of our requests to improve the user interface ever seem to make it into the updates. LOTS OF LIP SERVICE from the representatives. STAY AWAY

Pros

Web based server makes access simple - unfortunately, their app is only available on Apple iphone, not Google smart phones

Cons

This is not an Electronic Medical Record. There is NO ability to sign off electronically on any outside documents that come into the practice. It is a platform that caters to primary care/psychiatry/psychology and is woefully inept at addressing a busy surgical practice. The practice management part of the system smoke and mirrors- it look fancy but is not functional.

their tech support will stay on the phone as long as needed and REALLY work on finding the trouble spot and then FIX it so you can be up and running again

works great and runs dependably, they keep you informed of any outages, community page to post questions and get answers from other users

I've been using CareCloud almost 6 months now. I've FINALLY needed their support for an issue with my software and they were fantastic. I put the ticket it late one evening and by then next day I had a tech call me and we were able to fix the issue. I'd HIGHLY recommend CareCloud for all your PM needs.

This was my least favorite medical software that I've ever used. We were told that CareCloud could be used on iPads, which we use in each of our rooms instead of a full computer. However, despite them assuring us that it would work and was fully functional on iPad, it was not. Very unhappy about how deceptive they were and this was a major issue for the practice. It was only available in "read only" format on the iPad. Be careful if they assure you it is compatible with tablets/iPad. You can read the information, but not update or use it as you would on a regular computer. When we tried to contact them, they were not much help.

Pros

There was a tool to set up reviews so that staff members had to review each others work, this helped catch and prevent errors.

Cons

It was very confusing and there was not much training on how to use it. We were upset that they claimed it was fully functional on tablets as well. Additionally, this system was extremely costly and we did not see it pay for itself in benefits.

The product is extremely user-friendly. The aspect that the office can bill from the EHR is great. As with every EHR their is a learning curve but once that is figured out the EHR is easy and makes your office very efficient.

Able to take anywhere because works off of the cloud and not a server.

As with any EHR their is a learning curve but once you have that down pack it is very easy to use.

Carecloud support steps up their game!

We have used Carecloud Practice Management since 2013. The transition was fast, simple and efficient. Loved the ease of use and transparency of the billing process from the beginning. As the company has grown, as well as the product, their support personnel continues to improve at an amazing pace. Response to an open case is quick, the follow through is complete, and they are quickly able to offer a solution or instructions to resolve your problem. I really appreciate the help in keeping up with the ever-changing healthcare environment. Well done, Carecloud!

Pros

The entire billing process is simplified, compared to other systems. Upon transition to the system, I was able to immediately identify a number of prior billing errors that were not apparent in my other system. Navigation is very user-friendly and intuitive.

Cons

No product is problem free, but Carecloud makes an attempt to listen to what their customers need, and adjust their product accordingly.

This software suite is terrific it has everything our diverse practice needs and is super easy to use. We have seen our AR turnaround speed up by 30%. Very easy for new staff to learn because it makes sense in the flow of work. Lots of terrific features!

Poor experience had to call IT/customer service numerous times and did not get anything achieved. Lots of glitches and needs reloading; see cons below.
Do not recommend at all due to cost and functionality.

Pros

Cons

Doesn't have appropriate medical terminology too many glitches and causes freezes, loss of information typed, etc.
Too many buttons to click individually, copies previous notes but also copies previous orders associated with it that can't be deleted.

CareCloud from the Scheduling Aspect

CareCloud was very good, but not always as "user friendly" for the less tech-savvy. The update last winter to the calendar view was a challenge, and often lead to the site freezing a lot. The tech support was helpful, but didn't quite feel as personal as we would like.

Pros

I like that we could set tasks for staff members to check each other's work, go back and review a note, or to check benefits.

Cons

The calendar update with all of the new dropdowns was too much. That and the site would freeze up a lot and for long periods of time.

Advice to Others

This product is really good if you're wanting more detailed reports, as it offers a variety of ways to analyze your data and was a great asset to our billing department.

I would say in all software systems they all have great values and not so great values. I personally was pleased with Carecloud with the reports system. Customer services was a great help at times. Billing was a little confusing for a lot of our Franchises but I feel they are not experienced with vendors, So I understand why they would think Care cloud was confusing.

Billing was confusing for most of the users. Not too user-friendly

Advice to Others

Each person will have their own opinion with pros and cons. Depends on what your job title is and what you have worked with in the past with helping you with what you know and like. I personally like Carecloud and how all the functions worked, but I have been in the medical field since 1997 and I have worked in a lot of software systems.

CareCloud - A Great Solution for Medium to Large Medical Practices

I used CareCloud for well over a year in a mental health setting. The scheduling and billing features are top notch. While this program does require a good deal of training, it's a work horse of a program. If your practice seeks extensive reporting and analytical features, CareCloud is the way to go - you're able to customize reports and set just about any parameters you'd ever want, rendered to Excel, CSV, PDF, etc.

Pros

Very robust reporting and analytical features, great for medium to large practices, powerful and versatile enough for any medical group. Carecloud support is very helpful, has speedy responses, helpful training seminars, etc.

Cons

This cloud-based EMR is somewhat pricey, and has a somewhat steep learning curve for first-time users. If you're able to tap into to all of its functionality, the price is worth the benefit.

Advice to Others

This is a powerful EMR tool - it's capable of handling anything from a small private practice to a hospital setting. With that being said, it isn't cheap - I'd recommend this for medium to large medical practices.

CareCloud #1 Practice Management for Any Practice.

We have searched and researched numerous PM systems. There is not one that compares to the easy of use and functionality of this system. Automatic EFT posting is truly that automatic (which you can turn off if you choose to). Real (Manual) payment batch posting, with balancing and attached the eobs right to the the line item in the patients accounts. No more having to pull daily batches and search 450 pages of pymts to find your specific eob. Truly has an API with emdeon, with claims management from r/s to changing modifiers and diagnosis, with claims appeals pre populated forms.

Pros

Payment Batch Posting, Attaches EOB's to patient account with line by line posting. Claims Management all in one system. Posting Charges from the Appt App, easily see what is billed and not billed.

Cons

Being flash based, when ever adobe does an update the system may experience crashes. But normally they are back up in a few minutes. This truly does not outweigh the Pros.

Advice to Others

Give it a try. Staff from Novus to Super user will trying be able to use the system in a couple of hours. Most staff do not need formal training. It is user friendly and makes sense. If you have used any other PM successfully, you will love this system and be able to get started right away.

I had to train myself how to use/navigate thru CareCloud after I called help desk and they provided me with a link on Tutorial training

Pros

When I called help desk for assistance on how to use CareCloud, I got a very patient and helpful representative to help me and he was able to forward me some links how to use the system.

Cons

I would have liked for our representative to have taken the initiative to have schedule more training how to use and navigate in CareCloud. Would have like to have gone through the whole process from beginning to end to show how to enter patient/scheduled and receive co-pay from patient. It took me a while to put all the pieces together

Advice to Others

To make sure that you get scheduled training for several sessions to go thorough the whole process, to be successful and ready to go from the beginning of using CareCloud
