Digisonics Software

Digisonics has been providing advanced PACS and structured reporting since 1974. Their products are geared towards professionals in cardiology, radiology, and obstetrics and gynecology. It was one of the first systems to offer real-time, remote image analysis over the web accompanied with complete measurement and editing capabilities, all of which is delivered through their user-friendly interface.

All the reports available in Digisonics are easily modified by the end user, without requiring any tedious reconfiguration to the database or code. It also allows for modifications to the to the calculations package, so users can create their own off-line measurement protocols or use any of 1,100+ default measurements.

The data-mining app offers a robust, flexible search tool. Users can search by a single field or combination of fields within the database. Reports and analytics are built in to the search engine and all reports can be exported from Digisonics. Any images or measurements are easily burned onto a CD/DVD.

Digisonics boasts industry-leading customer service and support. It works well with any OEM imaging vendors, ensuring a seamless integration into any practice’s workflow. It’s HIPPA compliant and completely secure. We recommend their solution to mid-sized and larger practices.

The fees are way too high. This is after a large initial purchase price. The system was fine 10 years ago, but it is far surpassed by any of today's EMR offerings. We are replacing it this year with a full blown EMR, as it is hindering our change to a paperless office. It also does not interface well with newer products.

This is fine for a manual office (no EMR). I would suggest shopping around on price and features, though, as Digisonics is much more expensive than other systems we have investigated with more offerings.
