DocuTAP EMR & PM Software


 

DocuTAP is a Web-based electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management system tailored towards the needs of urgent care specialty clinics—including both occupational health and pediatrics—of any size. Founded in 2000, this customizable EMR solution is both ONC-ATCB and Meaningful Use certified.

Modules include e-prescribing, lab integration and an online patient portal where patients can access their medical records and complete forms before coming to the clinic. Patients are also able to pay their bills online.

Further, DocuTAP’s enterprise dashboard provides users with real-time data on patient wait times, visit statistics and total payments. This module is supplemented by a reports library with additional billing and practice management information.

Designed for compatibility with tablet devices, practitioners can access DocuTAP from desktops, laptops or tablets. This allows physicians to move between patient rooms without needing to log in or out of individual computers.

I feel it is very easy to navigate . Very helpful at first I thought it would be difficult but not at all within my first few days of training with this product I was able to catch on immediately . Where my colleagues were very impressed . With this software I feel its very helpful in this field because it allows you to save time from using too much paperwork. It allows for so much to get done within a short amount of time . Helps with flow of office .

Follow steps . Its not hard to navigate through, can be very helpful . Also saves a lot of time with how things are setup; straight forward.

Easy clicking to chart on all different patients. Very easy

Page layout and needing to scroll to opposite sides of pages to see the whole note. Reading the finished chart if only using clicks is extremely difficult and does not read like English language should read.

Recommendations

None. I don't know what I would tell somebody evaluating software.

The people! When you call Support, they are not only knowledgeable, they are friendly and make you feel like you've them forever. If they do not know the answer, THEY WILL ASK A COWORKER making it obvious they are a TEAM. That is a positive, motivational experience.

It is not as user friendly as it could be. I would love to links to the Knowledge Base as it relates to certain screens. For example, if you are in the Insurance Maintenance screen and need instructions on setting up a new ins, possible have a blue checkmark that offered a link directly to the Knowledge Base. It save a lot of time for both the user and your support staff.

EMR, is easy to utilize. There are multiple ways to do the same function.

PM is not easily customizable. Difficult getting new ideas submitted and implemented. Appear to be behind in innovation. Patient portal is not user friendly or reliable.

Recommendations

Ensure DocuTap can accomodate the size of your business. Look at support and if you need any customization.

This product can really help you move patients through the facility. Fast charting and user friendly data input.

when it is down. It doesn't happen that often but if it does. It is never pleasant to work without.

Recommendations

This software does not have bugs. I have used other EMRs and if they have bugs it can be a real challenge. Also bugs create error charting.

DocuTAP is extremely user friendly and increases efficiency of our clinics while reducing risk. Also the DocuTAP team is great to work with, they care about their customers and listen to their feedback and ideas.

The only thing I would like to see improved is more non financial reporting. So would like to see reporting on staff efficiency, more ability to drill down and run reports in patient wait times, door to door times, etc. The reports are there but not as granular as we would like.

It is very user friendly; However there are times when it can get a little disorganized with all the steps and data input as various people use the same system

So many steps to do almost everything. On PMR, multiple times before you can verify insurance. On EMR, So many tabs to go through to add new medication or medical history

The product is great! I might suggest a site visit to evaluate how this software works. DocuTAP has training modules that are very helpful to our staff. We require our staff to complete this training before first day of work.

DocuTap has been easy to use once you are familiar with where options are located. Easy to switch between screens in parts of the notes. Able to customize many of the features with relative ease. I can get many tasks done fairly quickly.

The help desk is always friendly and patient. They are quick to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

The online tutorials are helpful.

There are frequent changes to keep up with. Not a completely bad thing. However, difficult if you are working and not able to familiarize yourself with the update until you find a roadblock with performing a task.
There are templates that would be helpful but not populated with any subcategories or not available at all. Not sure if that is program or our center's customization.

Many medications are not listed by their generic and brands names ex. Implanon

Use test patients to learn where everything you need is located and to customize your preferences.

Citrix can be unreliable. - the only issue, the program must be refreshed periodically. And at times it will go off-line

TRY IT!, a change is always so hard to have all staff members involved, but with the training of DocuTap everyone has a opportunity to learn at their pace. Using DcouTap. help and having the support team available when you need them is a huge PLUS.

The part I like best is that the software is adaptable. Also if you are willing to share your ideas or thoughts, it is possible that you may see a version of what you had in mind become an available tool in the system at some point along the way. I also like the culture of the company DocuTap- the people that work there are great!

Sometimes there are processes and features of the system that are intended to make work flow better or easier, but they sometimes end up being more of a hinderence than a help. Perhaps that is due in part to being developed from a specific source request that doesn't fit the whole or from a non-medical perspective where the real world application isn't the same. The other part that I like least is that it can take a while for an idea or request to be implemented.

Recommendations

Be pateint and flexible. The system will work in your enviroment but you may have to alter some workflows. Also it is a really good idea to have atleast one if not several super users in your clinic to be the go to for DocuTap.
