MedPointe from Health Systems Technology, Inc. is a standalone EHR solution that offers integrated billing, accounting, picture archiving, and patient scheduling features within suite, along with medical billing services. The program is available in both sever-based and web-based deployment models and is compatible with both Mac and iOS devices.
MedPointe is a certified EHR solution that, when combined with other practice management features, offers an all-in-one system to help physicians better manage their workflows. Along with standard EHR features, MedPointe includes a patient portal, referral and document management, e-prescribing, medication lists, allergy & drug interaction checks, and integration with medical billing programs. MedPointe also works in conjunction with other Health Systems Technology tools, allowing practices to manage patient photos; send appointment reminders; process payments; and track patient billing details, including overdue letters and collections routines.

In reviewing several EHR choices we narrowed it down to Medpointe and one other. We chose Medpointe because it was a small company who said they did great things. We felt that with a smaller EHR company our level of satisfaction would be greater. Due to our unique practice we were promised that they were capable of meeting our needs that we laid out specifcally for them from the beginning. Needless to say we were wrong. There are ongoing issues with programs they developed and promised would work. Our billing department struggles daily with issues that are never resolved. If they are resolved it is short lived before the issue crops its head again. Our "patient" portals provide nothing for the patient what so ever. They cannot access medical notes, we cannot upload actual lab or x-ray reports. The patient cannot make a payment through the portal. Basically they can send a message and that is all. "Employer" portals were also developed for our industrial medicine clinic that do not consistently work and our clients are extremely frustrated as we are. We converted our clients from a system we had in place to this "great employer portal" that does not come anywhere near "great" With each issue there a "ticket" and the famous line they like to use "It's just a computer". Although their customer support people are nice they never can supply an answer and always have to "get back with us". All in all we are so totally disillusioned and unfortunately locked into a contract. Buyer beware of this system and any promises they make!
