VolunteerSpot volunteer scheduling software provides online sign-up sheets and volunteer rostering, streamlines event organization and helps to increase turnout. With VolunteerSpot, event organizers can create sign-up forms and volunteer calendars. Volunteers are invited to join via a direct invitation or a link in a newsletter, website or social media post. Participants can sign up from any device without a password, and configure alerts and reminders to help them keep their commitments.

VolunteerSpot volunteer coordination tool is suited for organizations of any size. Three service plans are available: basic, premium and a special campus plan for K-12 schools. All account levels provide calendar sync, shift-swapping, contribution collection and more. Premium accounts include bonus features, such as custom branding, additional registration form fields and partner packages for state, regional and national organizations.

In addition to a full-featured mobile website, VolunteerSpot also offers a professional convenience app for iPhone and Android, and Clipboard, a virtual clipboard app for iPad.

We used VolunteerSpot for a short period of time before switching to another similar product that can be used for volunteer management and general sign ups. Our volunteers found this product difficult to use compared to the other product. For me as the volunteer coordinator it was easy to use and seemed to work well.

Pros

Ability to input recurring time slots, ability for volunteers to switch slots on their own without having to contact the volunteer coordinator

Cons

Well, it's cute that you can customize at the end.

Can't change the date once it's set. A lot and I mean a lot of emails are sent even with reminders off. The links expire too quickly. Editing is so old school and not at all user friendly or intuitive. It is not any easier than send out a mass email. It feels very outdated and it is frustrating. Even sending a help message was overly exhaustive. Usually it's your email and the question. This was every detail possible just to ask a question. Insane.

Recommendations

Not sure. Consider how easy it is, the cost, customer service and time

Need to fix errors in code syntax, need to hide email address to prevent spamming, and need to add more keywords.

Recommendations

We use VolunteerSpot any time we need to organize volunteers to bring something or work a shift. The calendar is easy to create/manage for a one-day event or an entire year of events. Like the automated reminders and volunteers like that, they don't need a login and/or password. We have been using VolunteerSpot for years.

Ease of transaction. It allows me as the coordinator to organize the volunteer needs we have and then allows employees to input their information directly, therefore cutting down on the amount of time I need to spend going back and forth in communication with each person.

I don't always receive the updates when new volunteers have signed up, so I need to check the site for the most up-to-date information.

Recommendations

This is a great tool that's free and easy to use! It not only keeps things organized but provides a calendar hold for each volunteer so that they'll have the reminder on their calendar.

I feel its pluses are ease of use, computer usage is impersonal, it has been accurate for me and I can log in at any time.

We have been using your software to schedule about 75 spots (big sales) and about 15 spots (small sales) from a base of a bit over 100 volunteers for our quarterly (and mini) book sales at our library for almost three years.
Our volunteers like it and I find it a necessity. We used to have one person call (telephone!) all and schedule it. Took hours and hours. We still have about a dozen volunteers that do not use email, so we still have to call some. We enter them manually into the system with a dummy email. It works just fine.

Signup.com has taken the headache out of volunteer scheduling for me. I initially tried another site, that was convoluted and never offered any kind of support. I couldn't even unsubscribe from the original site and had to block their update emails. By comparison, this site makes me want to jump for joy. Hassle-free. Intuitive. Has everything I need.

Pros

So easy to use, it's intuitive. It keeps track of everything so that I don't have to. It's hassle-free sign up. Easy to add and edit shifts. I love the calendar or list view options and use both regularly. My volunteer scheduling task went from nightmare status to a piece of delicious chocolate cake with homemade frosting.

Easily reached the people needed and it was not difficult for them to sign up. It also gave me daily sign in sheet.

Cons

Didn't have enough time to play around with the comment section. I put in a comment that I didn't realize would repeat on every name. I couldn't figure out how to take it out globally, had to go in and remove from each record.

Also, parents seemed to have trouble signing up their scout using the parent email. Had to put their name in twice instead of their scout's name We needed both parents and kids to signup.

Efficient and timely information. Comprehensive view of information on how many positions were filled and what percentage of total need. Detailed reports available for downloading. Made management of volunteers much easier!

Pros

Ease of volunteer sign up without volunteers having to create an account. And Reports are excellent! Customizing the reports to receive the exact info that our client wanted. Example: How did you hear about this volunteer opportunity? Also really like the ability to send a Thank You message after the event. Really like the notices of volunteer cancellations and the Previews of the coming week that are automatically sent.

I spent less time setting up appointments. I have a record of the schedule.

Pros

This program is such a great time saver. As a teacher, I have so much grading and planning to do for my students and setting up the conferences used to take so much time away from these essentials. Now, I can schedule conferences without the back and forth communications that used to be the norm with the traditional paper scheduling. Now participants can switch spots without having to contact me. I really like the updates about who has signed up so I can email parents the link again when they have not yet set up their appointment for a conference. Therefore, this program has been a great convenience and I won't go back to paper schedules.

Cons

Each slot has to be individually set up rather than being able to put in a timeframe with a start and end time that self populates the time slots.

Organized, reliable, fast software that allowed us to obtain 100 volunteers with 300 man hours. What used to take hours of phone calls and days of planning was reduced to an hour of computer work and word of mouth and social media and email sharing. This gargantuan job because of a simple task.

Pros

Fast, reliable and time-saving!! Reduces errors and allows an entire group to view the schedule of volunteers!!

Cons

Perhaps the refresh could be faster but I think that's more of an internet connection issue. Otherwise, I have no complaints.
