We are a municipality with approximately 366 pieces of equipment we maintain with the assistance of Fleet Maintenance Pro Version 12. Before Fleet Pro, we used a database program we created in-house that quickly became outdated and just didn't provide the strength we needed to keep up with a constantly changing and growing fleet operation.
I was a little concerned at first about how easy Fleet was to use; I was worried that a software this easy to use must have some weaknesses, but it has proven itself strong enough time and time again. I looked at several different software packages, and they seemed to be somewhat complex and cumbersome compared to Fleet.
We have been using Fleet Pro for close to ten years and have been extremely pleased with the advancements that have been made through the years as each new version was released. Our team has found the software to be very intuitive and easy to use while still having the underlying strength needed to manage our fleet's data needs quite well. We use the billing and calculating functionality of this software extensively every day, and we must be able to rely on its accuracy for accounting purposes.
The most pleasing experience of all has been the support we have received through the years from IMS, and that has never changed.

All vehicles and equipment at the tip of your fingers
Pros
We purchased Fleet Maintenance Pro to contain all of our vehicle and metered equipment in one place, and that is exactly what it does. It holds details from the purchase, work done on the unit, fuel to the sale of it and everything in between. We have been very pleased so far with the support that has been provided. They are quick to respond and provide detail resolutions.
Cons
As with any software, there are things that could be improved. I believe the security is a bit overwhelming. I believe it would be much easier if you set up a group and assigned access per group. I believe that you have to assign by user which is cumbersome when you have 14 drivers and 20 others that are accessing the system.
We have had some issues with connectivity to the system via mobile phones but are hoping that the upgrade to version 14 will resolve some of this. The last thing that I do not like about this program this far is that the person who enters the repair order can not be found after a work order is opened on the repair. Since we have had problems with he said she said for repairs, this has not helped solve this as all. I would think that the repair information would flow through to history. It would be nice to evaluate on a monthly basis who is entering them and who may still be struggling with the process.

Had issues
Pros
Lacked a lot of basic features for a CMMS platform such as spend tracking by category. Very difficult to use and really no user support to provide guidance on issues. As our company grew we were left with no other choice but to switch.
Cons
Hard to use and really didnt track costs

Excellent System for Construction Services!!!
Pros
The equipment management system helps the company to properly monitor all the assets. Another feature that helps us a lot is its preventive maintenance facility. It helps to identify which equipment are due for maintenance/check up, thus, preventing a sudden breakdown during the operation.
Cons
I do not see any constraints in this system. I just encountered a slow loading when I extracted data. Since this happens only once, maybe it was an issue on our internet connection. Not a bog deal.

Simple and Effective
Pros
The IMS Customer Service is probably my favorite part about my experience with them and Fleet Maintenance. Don't get me wrong; the software is good, too, but anyone in a tech job knows that nothing is ever perfect, and when you hit little bumps, there needs to be good customer/technical support, and IMS has a good team for that.
Cons
Honestly, there wasn't really much I really dislike. If I had to choose, I would say the interface of Fleet Maintenance isn't the best. It's not so much that it's bad, but it's not the nicest looking I've seen and could probably be optimized a bit to be easier to navigate/read.
